I've got three tattoos now and all were done at city of ink. my first was done by Penni and my other two by Aggie. I love all my tattoos and love the designs that Aggie has created for me. All the artists are very friendly and welcoming giving the shop a great vibe! Just got my second tattoo from City of Ink today, on my fingers, clean shop, lady on the desk is super helpful just a shame about the attitude on the guy tattooing. Happy with what I got done, just wish I had been treated with a little more respect as a client. Nothing against the shop itself though, first tattoo healed well after a touch up, we'll see how these ones go. Read Less

It wasn't easy to find a tattoo studio, if your are not in New Zealand. But you can definetly trust all these good reviews! I made my apointment via mail and the service was perfect with fast reply and lot of information. As i arrived in the studio everything was prepared and my tattoo artist Ra is an amazing guy. He got a lot of experience the years before and is an expert in Maori styled Tattoos. Everyone in this studio is very friendly and they arranged a spontaneous tattoo for my wife. Walked in to get my first tattoo. I gave them some basic design of what I was looking for and another example of the style I wanted. Aggie created an awesome design from it, that was spot on right away!... Made an appointment and the whole experience was amazing, staff was super friendly and informative. My experience with Steve Johnson's City Of Ink has been an amazing one! Initially due to past dealings with other shops I was apprehensive of getting a new piece started, however this time I did my research and finally paid the team at City Of Ink a visit! I started my Bernini themed thigh piece with Josh, who took a loose concept of mine and helped develop and refine it to a point where we are now years down the track nearing completion a half suit! With a diverse range of artists covering all styles from Japanese to Tā Moku and everything between, City Of Ink definitely has an artist who can create the tattoo/s you want,and at the highest standard. I typically follow my instincts regarding my tattoo artists and these guys (and gals) hit the nail on the head as soon as I walked in the door. Ricky ended up taking on my tattoo idea and came back with an incredible, and exceptionally unique, draw up. He, and the rest of the staff, were incredibly professional and really easy to converse with, which always makes the process of getting what's in your head onto paper much easier. Ricky's talented ability shone through in his application and the results speak for themselves. I only imagined I could be this happy with an aged tattoo's semi-coverup. He seriously rocked it!!
