I booked my tattoo a month or so in advance to make sure I could see Rob. I read his previous Yelp! review and then did my homework and went to his page...where he has tons of amazing reviews. (Yelp! has not really taken off in NZ yet but I'm going to do my best to change that while I'm here!)So, I wanted a simple, kiwi bird outline tattoo. I sent Rob the pic of exactly what I wanted and he did exactly what I asked for. He didn't complain at all that I did not challenge his tattooing skills. He did encourage me to do more detail and we agreed this would be an excuse for me to return. (My husband is also getting a much more complicated tattoo and will be doing his own review.) Rob is friendly, welcoming and down to earth. He probably wouldn't want me to publicize this but he's also a softy, at heart. He's a good dude but a professional. He has all the right aspects of a tattoo professional: He's clean. He's dedicated. He takes his work seriously but he's got jokes and a quick wit. I realize some of these qualities aren't important for some but I think it's what adds, to the experience of a tattoo, whether it's complicated or simple. Rob put me completely at ease. If you're in the area, or even if you're not, come see Rob. I wanted to add one last thing, we didn't have any cash on us and went to purchase a couple of things from the bakery and after I took a drink, realized the bakery does not accept our card from the U.S. Rob walked to the bakery and paid them to save us a trip to the ATM. What a cool dude. Love the shop and loved the experience. Things to know: Don't call the shop and ask how much for a tattoo. A tattoo is and should be, a piece of art. Just like art, you get what you pay for. Email the shop with what you want, size and ideas of artwork and Rob will work with you. Deposits are a normal part of any quality shop. You want someone's time, you have to pay for the time slot. So, know the code.

A good friend and me decided spontaneously to get a piercing and this team is just amazing! Now I've a beautiful piercing (nose) and my friend a second earring! Rob done an amazing cover up Koi tattoo for me over a large black kanji tattoo that nearly every other shop said was impossible or said I would need expensive laser surgery first. It has been nearly 4 weeks since I got it done and it healed very quickly and looks great.
He done it all in one session and is an awesome friedly dude. Excellent customer service, clean and awesome shop. Definitely coming back here!

Rob is awesome! Have had multiple piercings done by him and wouldn’t go anywhere else to get pierced! He makes you feel comfortable and at ease. Definitely worth the travel to see him!

She has great customer service and mad needle skills 👌 She made sure everything was perfect; she didn't rush or make me feel uncomfortable at all; if I'm honest I totally forgot she was working on me most of the time. What a fantastic and very satisfying experience. Ladies and gents let me tell you, if you want your body art to scream wow, Living Art Tattoos & Piercing Ltd is the place to go. From the first day I walk in there to do enquiries, untill yesterday that I when for my tattoo, I had the best and highest standard of service. So I had a tattoo that I was not happy with and wanted it covered up. I've been to a few places but with no luck and no one that wanted to help me and it looked like my only option would be laser treatment and I was devastated. So I thought just Google one more time and Living Art Tattoos came up and I loved the reviews and let me tell you, the reviews where spot on. From the time I walk in , the receptionist was friendly and Rob was very friendly, professional and eager to listen. And then my day was made, Rob said he can help and let me tell you, best experience I ever had. Had an absolute blast, they were professional, everything was so clean and neat and the best of al my tattoo screams WOW!!!!!! It is absolutely amazing and exceeded my expectations. So if you want the best, do yourself a favour and go and visit them, you will not regret it. (Oooohhhh just a little extra info, me and Rob started chatting while busy with my tattoo and he told me he's from SA and that he is from KZN. To make a long and very interesting story short he did a tattoo on my lower back 15 years ago. What a coincidence and let me tell you, so ment to be) Thank you Rob for my stunning and absolutely WOW WOW tattoo and thanks to the rest of your team as well, you have a client for life.

The worst piercing experience I've ever had. I was new to getting piercings at time hence I wasn't aware of the piercer's poor practice and unprofessionalism. The piercer attempted to sterilise the jewellery with alcohol wipes and not an autoclave. He gave me an industrial piercing when my ear anatomy isn't suitable for it. He pierced with 2 captive ball rings and not until 6 months later when I tried fitting an industrial bar in, the alignment was completely off. I forcefully fitted an industrial bar in and the pain was excruciating after an hour that I had to take it off. I had decided to let the piercing heal and close off as they were positioned in unattractive places to began with. I do not recommend this place at all. I've had piercings done at both Ballistic Tattoo (navel) and Streetwise Piercing (tragus) and both places did a good job.
