I went on a really snowy and cold day so there was very few people there and I didn't have to wait at all. I give this a 4 star instead of 5 because like the other reviews said the guy at the reception is rude and literally doesn't care about anything. I called to see if the store is open and he sarcastically says that he's there on his day off to pick up the phone and when I got my industrial pierced and asked for some tissue for my bleeding ears he didn't even look up when I asked him until I had to ask him AGAIN than he told me to ask the lady who pierced my ear. It was a SUPER quick in and out process. The whole  thin probably took 5 min. The lady was much nicer and gave me a self care sheet after I was done. No infection here. Their Saturday special days have really died down ($17 for any piercing) but I've gone to this location twice and have been very happy with my piercings. Staff are friendly, and give you instructions for the care of the piercings (I think they have enough time to give you instructions when the place isn't crazy busy because I wasn't given instructions the first time). I've gotten two piercings from here, a naval piercing and a nose piercing. The saturday deal is great. I got my naval piercing done 8 months ago, and it had no complications and healed perfectly! My nose piercing was done just a month ago and there is a small bump (because my stud came out, and irritation) but other than that I still love it. This place is quick and simple, although it's a bit cramped and it seems the workers want to rush the job to be done and have me out of there. I've gotten 5 piercings done here. I've gone on the Saturdays when piercings are cheaper. The wait sometimes can be over an hour long, but honestly, they do the piercings so quickly and with minimal pain. I don't have a high pain tolerance so it definitely helps that it's quick. Got my septum done today. (Saturday 20$deal) These people are so unwelcoming. They should not ask for upfront payment when they have no refunds. The woman who did it for me knew I was nervous and said to me. “We close in an hour” as if that had anything to do with anything. I wish I didn’t go there. Went on a Saturday for their $20 piercings, and got my navel pierced. There was a huge line in the waiting room and they handled clients like an assembly line. I was in and out of the room in less than five minutes, and right when she finished my quick piercing I noticed it was squished and was pierced poorly. I don’t recommend going here just because they are way too quick with their piercings and don’t put any effort to do a good job. THEY WILL RUIN YOUR PIERCING. experience #1 (middle-eastern skin toned woman): messed up piercing my nose 3 times in the same sitting and used the same used, blood-covered needle to pierce my nose each time. blood was literally spurting everywhere do to how badly she butchered my nose and it took 6 paper towels to clean up the mess. When I went to my regular piercer to fix this, they had to cut the nose stud into 3 pieces to remove it because of how badly Reactive Ink warped the piercing. experience #2 (woman with short blonde hair, I believe she’s the manager): She claimed she could do my nose better than her employee as she has been doing it longer.. I’ve just gotten back from having that piercing removed too because the hole placement was terrible and the piercing was slightly warped again, but not as bad as last time (warped enough though that I couldn’t take my corkscrew stud out without a professional). When I had this piercing removed, the piercer couldn’t fit in a new, non-corkscrew, because of how badly Reactive Ink pierced me. also, they know damn right that they’re a trash shop because they only take money up front and don’t give refunds! Would not recommend for piercing. I got an anti-tragus piercing done at Reactive Ink on my left ear. I have the same piercing from a different shop on my right ear, which healed fine, but the one I got from Reactive Ink never healed properly, had recurring infections, and ultimately I had to remove the earring after three months of failing to heal. Once I removed the piercing my ear healed fine, so I suspect it may have been the quality of the jewelry, although I don't have any allergies and I've never experienced this issue with any of my other piercings. I had such a good experience here! it's super packed on Saturdays because of their $20 piercing deal (which I obviously went for haha) but it's totally worth the wait! Taylor is super friendly and professional, she marks the spot for you and allows you to decide if it's the right spot for you or not. Don't waste your time and get pierced here. Came by about a year ago to get my Helix and Tragus pierced. Long story short my helix was pierced crooked and my tragus was irritated for MONTHS and would flare up and start to throb every now and again. I also had a massive piercing bump behind my tragus that would not go away. I tried all the suggested treatments I read online(Sea salt soaks, sea salt pastes, tea tree oil) and nothing worked. When I finally had enough, I decided to get new jewelry from Maria Tash when they had their Toronto pop up. When changing out the jewelry, the piercer was horrified that they used a curved barbell instead of a straight and that was the main source of all my trouble because of all the pressure being put on that area. Changed it since and haven't had a single problem and it has healed beautifully. My helix on the other hand is still sore till this very day. I have gotten piercings from other places since then and I have never had a problem during any of their healing processes. Spend a little extra money and go to a more reputable place that uses at the very least titanium jewelry. You'll be better off in the long run!! Read Less

I got a simple earlobe piercing here. Very short wait... I waited less than 5 minutes after I filled out my form. I went on a Saturday at around 1pm. The piercer was very quick and precise. I did not get the choice of jewelry, but the price was only $20 and since it's an earlobe, I can change it in a month. The person at the front desk and the piercer provided an info sheet on cleaning. i went to this shop to get a back tattoo finished up that another tattoo artist had done but failed to complete. the minute i went through the door i was greeted by a very friendly man who worked with me on a reasonable price to finish up my tattoo. it healed wonderfully and i couldn't have been more greatful to him. I heard about Reactive through my friend. I came in on a Saturday, because of the discount ($20 cash only per piercing - so $40 for my two lobes) and they took down my name and I filled out a form. My friend and I who were getting our ears pierced together and I left for twenty minutes and came back when they were ready for us, which is pretty good wait time considering we were there around 12:30pm. Others who came after us had long wait times.Experience: Our piercer opened brand new sterile needle packages before me to pierce my ears and it was over with quickly. It definitely felt like a little puncture, so I can't say it was painless, but it wasn't terrible (honestly, more of the "pain" comes from the stinging that comes afterwards and the soreness a few days later). It's been almost a week now and it's healing just fine. Taylor did a great job. She doesn't baby you, but she does help you calm down if you are nervous by reminding you to breathe out and try to relax as the needle goes in. Service: I like that the piercer gave us an aftercare sheet as well and a number to call if we needed further assistance/had questions. So I came in on May 6th to get my rook pierced and boy do I regret getting pierced here. Days after my piercing, my ear started to slowly swell up and a large abscess started to form. I initially thought it was a normal part of the healing process, however, I soon started feeling consistent throbbing pain. My ear continued to swell up and the pierced area began releasing green/yellow discharge. I thought cleaning it with saline solution would resolve the swelling and pain, however, it only got worse. Long story short, the pain from the swelling of the piercing and the abscess was so unbearable that the highest dosage of ibuprofen was not cutting it and I had to be hospitalized. The doctor in the ER said that this type of reaction to piercings is not common and that it is HIGHLY likely that either the piercing agent, or metal barbell was contaminated. I had the piercing taken out and they swabbed my ear to send for testing. Once the test results came back I was informed that I contracted a terrible bacterial infection. Now I'm on antibiotics and my ear is deformed. All this for getting a damn piercing from a unhygienic piercer. Honestly, save your $20 and get pierced at a reputable piercer to avoid any sort of trouble. I am so disappointed and this is by far the worst experience I've had getting pierced. I would ask for a refund but I wasn't even given a receipt. If I could give this place a review below 1 star, I would. Read Less

No real complaints here. Went on two separate Saturdays for the $20 piercing special. Taylor did my piercings both days and she was professional and sanitary. Surprised to hear all these comments about crazy wait times...waited no more than 15 minutes approximately on both days (though it was pretty busy). Got an industrial the first time and returned for a helix piercing on my other ear the second time. Both are healing well, lost the ball off one of the earrings on the industrial within less than a week but that's not really their fault lol I just replaced it with another one and it's been just fine ever since :P Read Less

Came here for belly button re-piercing last nights. There was only one piercer and I was her second last customer of the day. Saturday's are crazy due to the $20 special. The wait was about an hour so I went to the Mexican restaurant next door which was a treat. Unfortunately when she marked the mark, I told her it was slanted and she didn't believe me and convinced me that it was cuz of my scar that it just appears that way. Now that it's actually pierced.. I'm really bugged by how slanted it is :( The piercing process was like a minute. She didn't use clamps which was a lot less painful than I remembered with clamps.. so ya.. I don't quite know what to do now... I drew lines to show the straight lines... so I guess just follow ur heart when u go for piercing.. at least if it's crooked it's ur own fault.. now I'm kinda just really frustrated at this place.. Came here on Saturday for their $20 piercing special. I got my industrial done, which technically counts as 2 piercings so I paid $40. If you're planning to come on Saturdays make sure you come early because it's always super busy, they open at 11 and I was there by 10:30. When you walk in they will get you to fill out a form and ask you what type of piercing you're getting, then you pay (cash only) and wait for your name to be called. Taylor (my piercer) was friendly and quick. She explained to me that at reactive ink they use 2 separate barbells for industrial jewelry as it helps heal faster. Taylor put on gloves, cleaned my ear, marked my ear, opened a new needle, pierced my helix then my anti helix, cleaned up the blood, and I was done. Like i said they get really busy on Saturdays so they are quick but they do a great job. Taylor told me that the previous Saturday they did 400 piercings, so their goal is to get you in and out within 5 minutes. Been coming here for over a year and a half and I have to say if you're thinking of getting tattooed I would definitely come here. I have an entire sleeve done by Corben (@corbenms on instagram) and I'm so happy with how it turned out. Corben is honestly one of the sweetest tattoo artists I have ever come across. He listens to what I want and always delivers and offers amazing suggestions. He went to art school so he definitely knows how to make your tattoo a work of art! He is super understanding and flexible and very honest an straight forward when it comes to pricing, which I appreciate. I have also been tattooed by Jeremy (@journeymantattoos on insta) and he is amazing as well. Super nice and definitely really artistic. The roses he tattoos always come out flawless and lifelike. He's a super cool guy and you can definitely tell he's about the art as well.Taylor, the piercer there, is awesome as well. She did four piercings for me (all of which healed beautifully) and has always been there to answer any questions I had. When i started to slacken on caring for my cartilage piercing, the skin grew over it. Taylor cut through it, pried out my piercing and replaced the ball for free! Got my septum re-pierced today and it was super quick - less than a minute! Everything was sanitized and my piercer was knowledgable and friendly. The $20 saturday piercings is such a steal you can't go wrong. I had no intentions of getting any tattoos, however one of their artists, Corbin, had just become available and he took me in right away. Such a great and talented guy - he not only did my finger tatts but touched up one of my other tattoos for no charge. I haven't gotten additional piercings since i got the basic lobe ones when i was in grade 8. Pretty spontaneously and inspired by a makeup artist on instagram, I really wanted second lobe, tragus, and inner conch piercings. I went to get my second lobe ones on NYE morning for $17 each. I was the only one there and I got to ask about pain levels of each and whether they used needles (they did). The guy was really straightforward and friendly. A girl brought me into another room, put on gloves and everything seemed to be in packaging and was opened in front of me. She used a marker to dot where the piercings would be first and the whole procedure was over within a few minutes. When I left she gave me a simple aftercare handout. Pain rating would be 4/10 but i only felt it for a few seconds and noticed it at all for the next fifteen minutes. Super fast and uneventful healing!I went again a weekend after for my tragus - my first cartilage one. BTW, price increase to $20 on Saturdays :( This time I got there at 2 pm and the place was packed! I was told the wait would be 45 min so I went to Blue Bananas right across the street to walk around. Timing was on point. For tragus, I heard and felt the needle go through flesh and then the cartilage. Tbh, I find the pain level to be the same as lobes. I went here a few days ago for their Saturday deal to get a standard ear lobe piercing. It was pretty dead (there was one other person) since it was Christmas Eve. All of the employees were hanging out in the front and were every welcoming. Like the other reviews say: you must fill out the form and pay before getting your piercing done. I got pierced by Taylor, who was incredibly nice. She marked my ears and had me double check before piercing them. There was no immediate rush from the process and told me to breathe in and out as she did each ear. And before I got to ask, she mentioned to pick up the after-care instructions at the front but luckily, she had some at her station!Although where you'd get your piercing or tattoo done is an open space, it's a decent place if you want a cheap, quick piercing (especially during their Saturday deal - a piercing for $17). Just keep in mind about the time you're going at because like other reviews have said, it can be a wait before your turn.I might've gotten lucky with the no line/wait this time but I'll definitely be back in the future to get another piercing done, or rec to a friend. Came here today for a second cartilage piercing and a rook piercing. The people at the front are nice, have a dry sense of humour. I didn't catch my piercer's name but she was the younger of the two with long hair. She was so nice and listened to my nervous babbling the whole time. When it came time to pierce she told me to breathe in on the count of 3. She was very gentle (or as much as she could be). She told me which part of the process hurt the most (because I was really nervous about my rook). All in all she was super nice and I would definitely go back there again. It was quick and fast (in and out within 15 minutes), but I went 30 minutes after they opened and there may be a longer wait later in the day. Went on a saturday, and got my helix, snug, and forward helix pierced for $17 each (total of $51)! I got there at 11am when they opened and there was a line outside the shop, but I was in and out of there in about 30 minutes. They asked everyone for a piece of ID and to sign a consent form; the service was fast and efficient. The piercer went through all the proper sanitary precautions. Came here today for a cartilage piercing and was in and out within 15 minutes. The service is absolutely hassle-free, quick and easy, and the staff all seemed to be friendly. The process was clean and proper (changing new gloves, new aseptic needles, alcohol rub) and the Saturday special price was absolutely awesome (only $17, no tax, say whaaaat)! My only concern was that they never really went through any "teaching" with me unless I specifically asked, and since this is my first cartilage piercing, I had a lot of questions I didn't get answered because I couldn't think of them on the spot. I was recommended to come here by a friend and she said they would give me an after-care guide after the piercing but I never received one. Having previously read reviews, I decided to get a somewhat simple ear piercing. I came with a friend on a Saturday afternoon for $17 piercings and the guy at the front wasn't the friendliest, but all was fine as we filled out the consent forms then paid (cash only). After waiting less than 10 mins, we were brought into an open room (other people were getting pierced in the same room) and my conch was quickly done before moving on to my friend's industrial. The piercer was very nice and actually gave my friend the option to have 2 smaller bars in first and have them changed to 1 large barbell about a month later to help with healing. Before leaving, she gave us aftercare instructions. All in all, this place is more of the quick in and out type and I'm happy with my piercing, but if you're looking to get the full experience with more professionalism or a difficult piercing, you may want to go somewhere else. I came here twice for my cartilage piercings (helix and tragus), during their Saturday specials. I went at 10:45AM, fifteen mins before opening, and was second in line. By 11AM, there were maybe 10 of us waiting to go in.Saturday's price: $17 (tax included) for almost all piercings**CASH ONLY & MUST SHOW ID**Procedure:1. Present ID to front desk.2, Fill out form, e.g. what do you want done, contact info. There are only two clipboards and pens to circulate.3. Pay.4. Wait for your name to be called and you'll go in with a piercer.5. Get pierced in a blink of an eye.6. Pick up aftercare sheet from front desk. The staff aren't there to make conversation because there is such a high volume of customers but they are friendly enough. There are two main piercers now: Tayor and Ann. Because of Saturday specials, they are very good at piercing and switching the needle out for the barbell efficiently. You can indeed request which piercer you want to see, even during the busy Saturdays. Just tell front desk when you give back your form. I often go with Taylor because she is very open to changing the position of the piercing until you like it and she doesn't rush anything. Ann likes to choose the position for you unless you speak up, but for lobe piercings, she does put the dots for positioning. I would recommend this place for ear and nose piercings, not sure about other areas of the body. NOTE: They do not use clamps.Update: I have come here for more piercings and brought friends here, and no problems with healing. In fact, I think these piercings have healed the nicest vs. more expensive places I have been to. I took advantage of their Saturday deal and got my septum and web done. It took a while for my septum to aline but you get what you pay for. Quick and easy and I was out in less then 20 minutes. (I don't know if that's a good or bad thing) If you don't mind getting a jacked up piercing, this is your place. If it's facial, don't bother. It's done free hand. If they mess up, you're screwed.
