Came here to get an industrial piercing and it was done by Ray. He made the process super fast and super painless!After signing a digital waver, I went to the back with Ray for the piercing. He started by putting on disposable gloves and  marked out where the piercing would go. He had me lay down and began making the holes in my ear. The actual process was so fast, I only felt some pressure! Ray sent me off with a sheet with care instructions.Overall, I'd definitely recommend getting your piercings done here! They're very quick and the pricing is very fair. If you come in on Tuesdays, it's $15 off all piercings! Okay, so I'm legit the ultimate procrastinator.I've been meaning to write this review since March, but I have good reasons, I swear...like, the space bar on my laptop doesn't work any more. And I forgot that I had a phone. Anyways, went in with my friend to get my earlobe pierced, two on one side. Tryna go for the whole 90's, asymmetric "I'm cooler than you" vibe, y'know?It all actually started in February when I walked in after eating at Kinton and asked to get my piercing removed. RAY was the lovely gentleman who helped me. He looks a little intimidating, but you'll quickly find that he is ACTUALLY. SUCH. AN ANGEL.He took a look at my now-previous piercing, asked a few questions, and determined that I have a nickel sensitivity which caused the fluid bump thingy I had on my ear for the better part of half a year. He took the piercing out and then told me to come back in four weeks to update him and let him know if I was ready for a new piercing. Fast forward almost two months later and I come with my aforementioned friend (let's call her Tim Hortons).Luckily, Ray is there and he puts me in for two piercings. He does his magic in legit 5 minutes with minimum pain and hooked me up with nickel-free jewellery to boot. To this day I havent had a bumpy thingy or anything weird happen, so I couldn't be more happy. ANYWAYS, also managed to bully Tim Hortons into getting her helix(?) pierced too, which looked frickin' awesome. He was also very thorough about educating me on how everything is done there and aftercare and all that jazz which is great and very much appreciated. Would I go to him again? Of course! Customer service and the actual piercing was fabulous! Also, his associates were really sweet too! Very friendly, non-judgy vibe.Ps. Turns out a totally cute co-worker of mine (let's call him H&R Block) goes to NYI too to get his tattoos and couldn't recommend the place more, so extra kudos to them! Pps. He would tell me to breathe in and out at the right times even used comedy to keep me calm because this was my first time getting pierced.He even gave us a few suggestions. He made the piercing fast and efficient which helped me a lot. Raymond is an AMAZING piercer and knows his s**t! Not only could he explain with science what I would experience in healing, but the piercing itself was literally painless. He told me to breathe in and out at exactly the right moments; used comedy to get me comfortable; and got down to business with extreme professionalism. Got my cartilage pierced 3 months ago and now I got my belly-button pierced. I was very scared for both, but neither of them hurt at all. The staff is very nice. The place looks very professional and they all know what they’re doing. Will definitely go back here to get another piercing. Read Less

I recently got my cartilage pierced by Raymond Robbins and he did them very well!! It barely hurt since he’s experienced and quick with the piercings. He got them done under five minutes and he was really friendly so I wasn’t scared at all! 10/10 recommended for getting your piercings! Read Less

Over my almost 20-year experience in getting tatted, I've worked with great artists and not-so-great artists. The mark of a great artist, such as Ben at NYI, is shown not only in his art, but also in the amount of preparation he makes long before needle touches skin. His attention to the little details shows you his appreciation for your business and his respect for his own work. To date, Ben has worked on three of my tattoos, and I will definitely have more for him to do in the future. The shop is clean and tidy. The staff is laid back yet professional. I had an amazing experience here at North York Ink. It was my first tattoo and I got it with my sister - Cheesy I know. Nadia was our artist and she was very friendly and helpful. I have been with getting all of my tattoos from Ben, and now I have a covered chest and a full arm sleeve. I recommend going here for any kind of tattoo, they are diverse in all works. The place is always clean; and the people are hospitable and welcoming. Feel really welcomed and comfortable when entering. By far the best experience I had at a tattoo shop! The shop minimum is $80 & they accept walk in (in case anyone was wondering, I couldn't find that information on their website). The place is clean & the artist showed me the needle in the package and went through the basic procedure on how to care for my tattoo afterwards. Nadia did my tattoo and she was very professional & great to work with! I only got a small tattoo done that day but I will definitely be going back for a larger, more intricate piece in the future.
