Had my first tattoo done with Dreegz and I had a great experience. The shop is extremely clean and professional. The placement I wanted was a bit tricky (straight down my spine) but Dreegz nailed it. They're also extremely good with follow up. They gave me detailed after care instructions and I got an email a few days after asking how it was healing. I did need to book a touch up for one small spot and they were extremely accommodating - Dreegz responded to my email right away and booked me in for about a week after despite how busy his schedule is. They don't allow friends/family past the waiting area during the tattooing process which I initially thought was strange but it keeps the atmosphere a lot more calm and personal. You definitely pay a premium for the work here but it's worth it for the quality and the experience. I'd definitely recommend. Read Less

I took a trip to see my best friend up in Toronto and fell so in love with Canada I decided to get a piece to remember my trip. My best friend stated he had followed black widow for some time and specifically Aiko because of her amazing detail and TLC put into every tattoo. We walked in and made an appointment the following day and happened to get booked with this amazing woman completely by chance. I have to say I'm extremely picky, even though I decided to get a tattoo completely on a whim, I still wanted to make sure I was making the right choice. I paid my deposit and quickly looked up her work to make sure this was the right decision for me. I was blown away by her IG page because everything I was told was 100% true, she was amazing at what she did. When I showed up she was so humbled by me having this piece done by her which made me so comfortable. The tattoo was painless, PAINLESS! I have 10 amazing pieces that I can't say was "painless" but whatever she did worked. And hour and a half of amazing conversion later I was done. I feel like I took a piece of her with me and I can't say that about any other piece I have. It's small, stereotypical, and I'm more in love with it than my own prized pieces. Leaving this review for a Tattoo I got in 2015 from Black Widow Tattoo.I walked into Black Widow tattoo because I heard great things about Chino, my tattoo is fairly small and is on my shoulder, the art itself was not an original concept because for this tattoo I didn't need it to be because the artwork was just a logo of something that was significant for me, literally all that needed to be done was trace over the picture on a sheet of paper and the rest should be easy but a feature that gives the tattoo the WOW factor once you realize what it is was messed up and the only people who knew what my tattoo was were in a small group of athletes but the ones who asked "what is that?" had a hard time seeing what it was supposed to be even after I told them.This was my first tattoo and I was so excited especially because it was my birthday and my old man wanted to gift me my first tattoo. I originally wanted Chino to do the job and I figured it would be a quick in and out job for him but I wanted his eye for detail because of how crucial some points of the tattoo are to put the whole thing together but I was told via email that taking up Chinos time isn't worth it because of how simple the concept and I was told any artist would be able to do the same quality work due to it just being a simple copy/paste type of tattoo I guess you can say. I took the advice and chose to trust the direction of the person emailing me and I went against my original desire.Although I am making this review late, I was thinking of getting a new tattoo and possibly covering up the job I currently have with just a full sleeve from shoulder to my wrist and then get the tattoo that I received from Black Widow done again but elsewhere on my body but by a proper artist, anyways, I was just checking out artwork and reviews of Black Widows competitors and I noticed on one review someone left a 1 star review explaining that their job was done wrong as well and I figure I should have done this sooner than later but here I am.Hopefully I have better luck on the next tattoos I get in the future, I like the place itself and it was clean at the time although it was a different location, the people were chill and I felt comfortable fairly quickly, just a shame that I'm ashamed of a tattoo on my body because of lack of attention or care even. I don't have a visual mind and I typically get anxiety from picking any of my next tattoos. I provided a pretty vague description of what I wanted and two reference pictures. Katt was able to create a sketch that I absolutely loved, and once it was tattooed on me, it looked even better with the shading. She took her time with placement and sizing, which I sincerely appreciated since it'll be on me forever.. She clearly is passionate about her work, and the chemistry in the shop is refreshing. based on all the reviews, and looking at the artists portfolios, I could tell this place was special. from the instant I connected with the shop, the manager (Jackson) was extremely helpful and kind. this was my first time getting a tattoo, and my artist Jeremy was top notch throughout the entire process. super professional, makes you feel really relaxed, and does incredible line work. *so* good, I was thinking of what I'd be getting inked next time while being worked on haha. I knew what I wanted done and was waiting for the right person to do it. After checking many artists and shops, I came across Black Widow Tattoo, specifically, Chino. I contacted the shop by email and Jackson was quick to respond. Dealing with Jackson was a pleasure and he worked with me to set up an appointment and consultation. Chino was terrific to deal with. It was obvious that he knew what I wanted and was very particular about his setup and artwork. This artist takes pride in his work and is extremely skilled. The work Chino did is exactly the message and meaning I was looking to portray. The work is very detailed and the fine line work is flawless. From first contact with Jackson, through to completion with Chino, was effortless and rewarding. I got what I wanted. If someone is looking for their first tattoo or just wants to add something to what they already have, I highly recommend Black Widow Tattoo. I've been to plenty of different places before, and this place really shines, both in terms of the quality of work, and in terms of everyone's attitude, both towards the clients and towards their work.In addition to the above, the ethical element plays a huge role - this is a place where you won't be offered an album of existing designs, and convincing them to do the Harley Davidson tattoo you've always been dreaming about, is nearly impossible - they care about the end result, not only from a physical point of view, but also an artistic one, and creativity is a huge element there.My wife just had some work done by Dreegz, and his single needle skill is monumental - I'm literally itching to have some work done by Chino, for myself, and will, as soon as I'm done lazering off some of my previous "mistakes" :)This is a place where clients are made for life - not something common, or easy to come by. Truly the epitome of excellent customer service. Everything was seamless..from the general inquiries I had, leading to the actual appointment. I had script done by Dreegz who was AWESOME! I had my first tattoo done at Black Widow, and I can't gush about the people at the shop enough. From the start of our email communication, Jackson was extremely friendly and responsive, and I had a consultation booked right away with Rosario. I've seen his designs on instagram, and was absolutely in love with his work. After the consult, everything was communicated clearly at the time of booking by the girl at reception (unfortunately didn't get her name) and she was very sweet with all my questions. On the day of the tattoo, Jackson was so welcoming and friendly, and even offered me food and water before the session. I couldn't imagine a better experience for my first tattoo - Rosario was patient and professional, and really paid attention to the details that I wanted in the design and was so helpful in the size and positioning of what I wanted. Since it was quite high on my upper thigh, Rosario offered me a privacy screen to make me more comfortable, and communicated with me throughout the session to make sure I was doing well. The entire experience was extremely professional and friendly. Rosario is an amazing artist and the final result was absolutely gorgeous. It also didn't hurt that he was a really chill guy to chat with and he was super sweet throughout the whole process. And they even check in after a couple of days to see how the healing process is going. All in all, the shop was spotless, friendly, and just top tier. I believe what makes this tattoo shop even more outstanding is the energy in it. I dealt with Jackson and Jeremy directly, and there's no mistaking that their first instinct is to take care of their clients. Jackson was already welcoming the moment I opened the door; he was chill to talk to while he explained the basic rules in their shop. He was patient in answering my e-mails leading up to the consultation and even after. Jeremy made sure my first tattoo experience will be exciting; I was really nervous the night before! He helped me modify the design of the tattoo and pointed out the right placement of where it should go on my arm. You can tell he's genuinely confident and happy in what he's doing which made me feel even more safe and satisfied that he's my first tattoo artist (and probably the only one!). Black Widow Tattoo shop was a wonderful experience for my first tattoo. Jeremy was my artist, he was very professional and his work is fantastic. They did everything to make me feel comfortable including setting up privacy screens & offering coffees or getting in on lunch. I was there for quite a while & felt totally at ease with the entire process. The tattoo turned out wonderfully, I felt like Jeremy really took the time to understand what i wanted and went above & beyond with his design. I will never let anyone other than black widow tattoo me. I've been to a few shops and this one blows them out of the water. First off, Jackson (who works the front)  called me to talk about my tattoo, was incredibly friendly and also reminded me prior me my appointment. I'm always greeted with a smile and eye contact (which is rare for some shops) when I go to BW. It's very warm and the space is stunning. Now, the best part - the artists and the work. Mason did my piece and I have to say I'm not only in love with what he did but he's a genuine human, amazing conversation and very accommodating. I was initially told that the detail in my tattoo was impossible, he made it possible. His fine needle work is some of the best I've ever known (imho). My experience at Black Widow Tattoo was truly incredible. I walked into the shop and Jackson, the shop manager was super friendly and helpful from the moment he greeted me. The shop is sweet and super clean. I was looking for an artist who specializes in fonts and scripts & Jackson recommended Dreegz right away. I checked out Dreegz Instagram and i was like YES!! this guy is super - talented. The font I wanted was tricky because it was GREEK FONT, but at my consultation a week later, I met with Dreegz and he was so kind & chill. He paid attention to everything i asked for. Thanks to Jackson - my tattoo session was booked a few days later and I had the best experience. Everyone in the shop is so cool and laid back and its just a good, positive environment to hang out in. Dreegz' script design was awesome, he totally can WRITE in GREEK!!! I would recommend Jeremy and Black Widow to anyone. It was a great experience and I felt extremely comfortable the entire time. First, the place was bright and immaculate, which is a good first sign. The front desk help (Jackson I think?) was so friendly and helpful. He was super patient and answered all my questions. He also worked me in last minute on a super booked Friday afternoon. Other tattoo receptionists have made feel like a pesky cow being carted off to slaughter and this was completely the opposite. Lastly, Jeremy (@pinkthroat on IG) was just lovely. He's one of those people I just liked the instant I met him - he too was patient and easy to work with. Best of all, I immediately felt even more comfortable after our consultation. Warm, personable, super funny and devastatingly talented. His work is amazing and he was beyond professional. He worked with me on the simple single needle script that I wanted and we were able to have an actual dialogue, which was great. The tattoo came out perfectly and was exactly what I wanted. Honestly, the only thing I was bummed about was the fact that I wasn't getting a bigger, more intricate piece done. If you love portraiture, check out Jeremy's IG portfolio for a treat. My wife and I decided to walk in when we were visiting Toronto and it was better than I could have expected. They could have easily blown us off since we weren't locals and were kind of indecisive about whether we wanted to commit or not. But they didn't. Jackson was awesome from the moment we walked in, from letting us know more about the shop to just general conversation and making us comfortable. Jeremy was our artist and he was great, super professional while also being ...really easy to talk to and gave us exactly what we were looking for while also helping us with where the tattoos would fit best on us. And then while I was getting my work done and we're the last ones in the shop. Chino comes over and starts talking to me, asking how we're doing and what we're in town for. It was really cool to see how much the owner really cares about every client that walks into the shop. I'd seen him interact with some of the people that seem to be regulars but for him to seem genuinely invested in a couple of walk-in first timers was awesome. The artists there can emulate a variety of styles and bring their own originality that's distinctive and unique. The space is comfortable, clean and well-run. They've always been very reasonable on the price of the pieces and the work is top-notch. I've been seeing Chino for years now and I never want to find another tattoo artist. I love his attention to detail, line work and shading. He specializes in grey scale but does amazing colour work too. He's done traditional Japanese styles on me, using colour intentionally and for the greatest impact.His work is precise, realistic and in the end, always stunning.
