Well, don't come here for a tongue piercing or tongue jewelry. Sure, you MIGHT get the considerate and professional piercer, but you may also end up having the displeasure of dealing with the MOST off-putting, LEAST professional employee ever. This individual is apparently on some kind of crusade to shame people out of getting tongue piercings. She warned me of the dangers of tongue piercing - receding gums and worn enamel. Which is fine! It IS important and responsible advice (though her general tone and demeanor left much to be desired). She then went on to tell me, paraphrased, that young people get them to look trendy and to advertise how much d*ck they suck. THAT was incredibly inappropriate and unwarranted advice. I walked In on 4/20/18 and everyone was nice. This lady named Linda did my nose piercing and she was AMAZING! Walked me through the whole thing, thoroughly cleaned it and was just so sweet! She even gave me all her info for when to contact her if I had any questions. She was also training a lady who was nice and allowed me to squeeze her hand while I was getting the piercing done. It came out when I was sleeping and I lost the jewelry the following Wednesday so I desperately wanted to go back so I wouldn’t have to re pierce it. I just wanted to pay for a new diamond and for them to put it back in. Unfortunately Linda wasn’t there but I decided to go back anyway. I got totally different service. The two people at the front desk were arguing over who wanted to do it because they both didn’t want to. The guy who did it didn’t clean my nose just put some jelly on the jewelry and tried to shove it in. After all was done the guy said he was gonna charge me an extra 10 because it was hard going in. Myself and three friends got tattoos from Chantelle recently. We were tourists, but she was very friendly and made us feel comfortable. The whole shop is very clean and has a cool setup. She did a great job at explaining all that she was doing and effectively sterilized and washed all equipment. She did an amazing job on our tattoos for a very reasonable price. I wouldn't not recommend that anyone go to this business, particularly for a piercing. Not only did the piercer use the incorrect jewelry in my ear, but the piercing was done incorrectly. I had my tragus pierced and she used a bar, which according to several other piercers is incorrect. Additionally, the tragus was pierced at an angle, when it should be pierced perpendicular across the tragus. Now the piercing blocks my ear canal. Furthermore, the piercer pierced my friends industrial incorrectly, so that the bar rests against the ear uncomfortably. Both my friend and I now have to go to another shop to have these removed. This was a terrible experience, and all I can say is that I do not wish this experience on any future patrons. Don't be lured in by any deals, avoid this shop!Less importantly (but still important), the staff was rude to both my friend and I, when we asked questions about pricing and jewelry. If management hadnt ignored my multiple attempts at contacting them I wouldn't have posted this  I saw their 2 for 1 piercing deal and saw all the good reviews online so i decided to pop in.FYI: Gina now works at Chronic Ink, Who is who all good reviews are about. I found this out the hard way!I was pierced by Linda, whose first words to me were "We ran out of flat backs, but we still have barbells". (Red flag #1) As we went upstairs her second comment was "One of the jewelry is internally threaded and the other isnt but it doesn't really matter." (Red flag #2 because this IS important). I also had a 7 week old belly button piercing I got done somewhere else and asked the girl for an opinion on changing jewelry bc my current one is really plain. She assured me id be okay to do it today. I have no idea what she did but she put her hands on it and I just felt the SHARPEST most horrible pain so i jumped up.  I said I'd wait a few more months as it hurt too much and she looks at me blankly "I didn't even remove the end yet."I go to pay, I get told I need to go withdraw cash because their debit machine is broken (red flag #3). So essentially im paying out of pocket for bank ATM fees too. Then I'm told I need to pay 60$ when it says on the sign the total is $50 for a helix piercing (Red flag #4). I got a second opinion after from two different piercers and they both told me it was completely botched. I posted pictures with this review so people could see just how BADLY it was done and I will try my best to also explain using words:1) my piercing bled for two days pretty significantly. My piercings before this did not have this issue.2) the barbells were way too long and I was told that internally threaded jewelry was sold out (?????) and so were the appropiate jewelry for my kinda piercing so i was given the leftover junk. Only my 3rd piercing so I didn't really know what to expect, I thought this was just how it was meant to be.3) the piercings were done COMPLETELY unevenly. One was done at such a bad angle that the two barbells ended up in a V shape and looked like scissors.4) the entry holes at the top of my ear were 2cm apart while exit holes inside were 1mm apart.m If the piercings had been done right, the bars would have been parallel to each other AND both entry and exit holes would be equally spaced apart. One of the piercings was pierced in a way so that the needle went through a lot of cartilage, causing way more injury than necessary. Probably why it bled so much!5) both ears got infected within a week. I kept up with the cleaning regime religiously. I understand that cartilage piercings tend to be more annoying but I would not be shocked if the poor piercing procedure contributed to my infections.6) I had to pay even more money to get the piercings removed at another shop  (shout out to Exotix Studio for their top notch professionalism and taking such good care of me).The nightmare doesnt end here!So after pulling my belly button piercing ...Fast forward to a week and a half and my piercing has been bleeding non stop for over a week now. It was healing absolutely FLAWLESSLY before this person touched it, and now the button hole has what looks like fleshy meaty skin coming out of it and it will. Not. Stop. Bleeding. It takes a certain level of incompetence to mess up a piercing that you didn't even do!Its gotten so bad that now bending over and standing straight hurts so bad. I can't even go the gym or even walk properly. I might have to end up removing this one just based on how bad she ****ed it up. 8 weeks gone to waste.Ive tried calling multiple times and been ignored, I emailed them with pictures and been ignored... I really hate to complain and was gonna not post this review but it's gotten so bad and their total neglect of me as a customer pushed me to write this review. BEWARE. If management actually steps up to make something right for me I'll edit this to include that but until then, this review remains accurate.Chronic Ink and Exotix are WAY better businesses in both quality and professionalism to give your money to. Got there around noon and were taken care of right away - filled out the usual paperwork, picked jewellery (all internally threaded titanium), and Gina took us upstairs. She let all 4 of us stay in the booth, and did everyone really quickly yet professionally. I got a nostril piercing and a daith, Gina was really helpful for placing my nostril. They were very accommodating for jewellery as well, when I asked for a seamless ring instead of a CBR for my daith that was fine. It came out to $60 plus tax and tip for 2 piercings, which is an amazing deal. Would 100% recommend, professional, friendly, clean, and great service! Read Less

I had two dermal piercings done today by the lovely Gina, and I have nothing but positive things to say about both her and the shop!!! The shop was very neat, tidy, lots of comfy seating, air conditioning, well decorated, great selection of jewelry, staff were very professional and friendly. Gina was just awesome-Not only very sweet, but very funny and made me feel very comfortable right away. A whiz at placement, and holy cats, does she ever work fast! I scheduled an appointment two weeks in advance to bring my mum to get her eyebrows microbladed. When we got there someone told us that Gina wasn't there and our appointment had been cancelled. I got a piercing done here two weeks ago, and Gina did a great job! However today the back of my earring came out and I went back to Abstract Arts to get the same back so I could screw it in. While a lady at the front desk started to try and help me, this man came down the stairs not even asking what I was looking for and said they couldn't help me. I explained that I had gotten my piercing done there, and that I just wanted to purchase a new back (or even a new pair) so my p...iercing does not close. Without even looking to see which piercing or jewellery I was talking about he said they didn't have what I was looking for. I tried to explain that the earring would likely fall out overnight if I didn't find a back tonight, and he could not care less and tried to get us out of the store. Overall, a very bad experience and a completely unwelcoming and unprofessional staff member. This is in contrast to other places I have gotten piercings that were very helpful if I went back for any reason. Very impressed with this place. I chose to get my nose pierced here because they had excellent yelp reviews. I am pleased to give my own yelp review. I walked in and was immediately taken care of by Gina. I told her that the first time I got my nose pierced that I didn't like the placing so I ended up taking it out. She then gave me some placement options and suggested her opinion without being too overbearing. The piercing process was rather painless except for a few single tears and her demeanour made me feel comfortable. The place is also very clean and inviting. Would recommend this place for sure! My boyfriend and friend got their piercings done on the same day from Amber. She made sure to take her time to make sure everything was perfect and done in the way it should be done. While another place that will not be named, that is apparently the top place to go decided that they had to much of an important client to take one more person, Amber at Abstract Arts decided to take all of us. Even though we were a bit late she made sure to get the jobs done in a timely manner, had us laughing and was just amazing all around. I was making fun of my boyfriend and my friend as they were in pain.... O_O I know that seems mean but they plan to do it back to me hehehe. I plan to go there and get my piercing done next. My sister, my best friend and I recently got tattooed here. Two of us got tattoos by Molly and one got a tattoo from Kelsey. It was honestly a wonderful experience. The shop is big, bright and clean. It's a beautiful space. The artists were both incredibly personable but also professional. They were also super accommodating with scheduling us and with adjusting our tattoos a million times until we were satisfied. Walked into the shop with my mom as she got a botched job from another studio and we wanted to inquire on a coverup/touch up. Staff was very accommodating and very welcoming. Very sweet and down to earth people and I can't stress enough how extremely clean the shop is. Love that the tattooing area is separate from everything so you have a little bit more privacy. Right when you walk in the door, you can tell this tattoo/piercing shop is a good one. It has a comfy and spacious waiting area, friendly staff and is very clean; all makes for an inviting environment. I have not been there to check out any of he tattoo artists yet but I can tell you one thing: GINA, their piercing artist.. Absolutely amazing. Super friendly and nice I could not believe it. Her attitude is nothing like you'd ever expect from anyone who works in these types of environments. She is so sweet and accommodating. She made me feel completely comfortable and even made jokes. Anyone looking for a piercing, I would 100% recommend her. My fiancé and I visited Toronto from New York City and had planned to find a great tattoo place to get our ring fingers tatted. Our design idea was simple and clean. Through our research on Yelp, and the area of Toronto we knew we'd be visiting, we decided on Abstract Arts and crossed our fingers that they took walk-ins. The space is large upon entering, and it was clear that they took pride in appearance and cleanliness. The latter would be very apparent later in our experience.Alex was our tattoo artist. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and showed great integrity when he offered sound advice on what NOT to do with the design idea we had. Being that we wanted two parallel lines to be inked on the backside of our ring finger, and then for those lines to be circled around to the inside of the ring finger and for the lines to cross over one another, his sound advice was to avoid tatting the inside of the finger - in his experience, the ink can ware off and fade on the inside of the hand/fingers. He even went so far as to recommend other tattoo shops if we were insistent on getting the inside finger inked. He simply didn't want to do something he knew wouldn't uphold the quality of his work. With that, we knew we wanted to move ahead with Alex, so we took his advice and only had the backside of our ring fingers inked. Two things I liked about Alex:1. He is meticulous about cleanliness at his station. He set up the station for my fiancé, who went first, and then took the time to tear down and re-set the station for me, sanitizing every single inch of the workspace and his tools and applying clingfilm and plastic wrap.2. He was sensitive to the fact that this was my finance's first time getting a tattoo and made her feel confident and unafraid. I've had two piercings and one small tattoo done at Abstract Arts and always had a good experience. The first time I was walking by and decided to pop in and check it out, and ended up getting my tragus done. The place has the reassuring smell of disinfectant you like to get in a tattoo parlour. The space is beautiful, clean, open, with full view of the tattoo and piercing areas when you walk in. The second time I got another piercing and a small tattoo I saw on the sign outside. Again, very friendly, wonderfully clean, and my artist was totally cool with my friend staying and chatting with me while I was inked. Gina is an amazing piercer and very welcoming. She doesn't have that pretentious attitude that some people receive at tattoo and piercing shops. I was looking for a conch piercing and came across Gina's Instagram (@lillygee7). Sent her an email and she got back to me right away. The shop is on Queen (at Bathurst). Reception area is a huge open space with couches. It so happened to be 2-for-1 Sundays so I had to get two piercings of course! The jewelry they have is implant grade titanium and the bars with a Swarovski gem were included, AWESOME. Filled out the usual paperwork and Gina went to set up. Ear was cleaned and placement was marked and approved. Lied down on the bed and was quickly pierced. I think I've found my go-to piercing place in Toronto. I love the vibe in this shop, which is bright, open-concept, high ceilings - really welcoming and friendly, compared to a lot of other tattoo places which can be pretty intimidating. To be quite honest, I stumbled upon this place quite randomly. Went to FY Ink first but they didn't have any piercers in that day, so we just went down the street to Abstract Arts. Don't be fooled by the exterior which looks a little bit grungy - it's super clean and sterile on the inside.Momma Roxy did tragus piercings for me and my friend, and she was awesome! She was super professional doing her job, chatted with us during the piercing process to ease our nerves, and showed us all the tools and jewellery in the packaging, so we could be assured of its cleanliness. Plus she also did a great job, the piercing process was quick and fairly painless. I think prices here are pretty reasonable too, the tragus piercing was $60 including the jewellery. The sign said it included tax, but I guess maybe that's only if you pay with cash. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, because I love that the staff is so chill and friendly! Honestly, the vibe at FY Ink down the street was totally different, just tons of dudes lurking around and it was honestly a bit intimidating, so in the end I'm really glad we came to Abstract Arts.
