Always a great atmosphere at Zap's! I've had quite a few piercings done here as well as two of my tattoos. Clean, friendly, and all of their work is superb. I swear by the artists here and only trust them to do my tattoos and piercings. I've never had any problems whatsoever with any of the services that was asked of them. Fantastic artists! I've had 2 tattoos done by Moe. She did absolutely beautiful line work on the first, and then surprised me again with the second by perfectly tracing the font! I would not change anything about them. Amazing energy, they really have great tricks to make your tats even more perfect! Zaps is the best and only place to consider in Owen Sound. 10 years ago, I got my first piercing there - a few years later I got both tattoos done there. All times they were very courteous, made sure I got what I wanted and considered what it would be like in the future (as all tattoo places should be with teenagers). To this day, I'm happy they made the recommendations they did. And today, I went in after my 10 year old piercing fell out - they only charged me for the new jewelry (and it was very cheap!), helped me put in the piercing free of charge and made me feel looked after. If I could give my experience less than 1 star, I would. I went in to get a daith piercing today by Moe - the one that allegedly prevents headaches and migraines, and because of her poor work I left with a migraine. She did not warn me when I picked a hoop, that it was more challenging to put in... and of course Murphy's law kicked in and she was unsuccessful after 5 or 6 attempts at putting it through the hole. Would NEVER go back here, and frankly now I'm not sure I can ever get up the courage to go and get my ears pierced. As we were leaving instead of just apologizing for the trouble she said "Sorry, I could have gotten the bar in though"... As if I was going to let her shaky hands around the sore spot again. She made it sound so easy at the beginning but she didn't warn me of what could happen... Is that not her job? She also admitted that it will be "tender" for at least a week after she cleaned it. "99% success rate" that she assured me of in the beginning is definitely not true - at least not after my experience with her. Thanks for nothing - and a whole lot of pain that you said wouldn't be painful just "pressure" - which was also a lie. I am very upset and will be calling the manager in hopes of some compensation. The absolute WORST EXPERIENCE that I have ever had with a tattoo/piercer. Read Less

i've been here once. The tattoos were over priced, as well as the staff think they can take advantage of customers. after getting a tattoo here, the tattoo had some sections that didn't stick. when i asked if they'd do a free touch-up (as most places i've dealt with will do) i was given a lecture, how just to open a needle and put a small dot on me, would cost me $85, and if i wanted a touch-up then i'd have to come in so they could see how much work needed done, and then they could give me an accurate price, however the price minimum would still be $85. The arrogance of the employees here is pathetic, not to mention any local i've spoke to, has said they'd rather go out of town, seeing as they can't even spell words properly, making frequent spelling errors on tattoos. if the locals won't even get a tattoo done by these people, why would i ever return? especially they way they treated me.
