My sister and I came here for our first tattoos about a month ago. Staff was super responsive, friendly and accommodating. We got our matching tattoos done by Jamie who was so patient and kind and made us feel totally comfortable from start to finish. Never made us feel rushed and encouraged us to speak up whenever we needed a break or anything else even though it was a very small tattoo. She made sure she was giving us exactly what we wanted and she did an amazing job! The place was very clean too. Absolutely LOVED my experience. I got a beautiful custom made design from Jay Klein, who was the kindest and most patient tattoo artist I have ever come across. I have a super low pain threshold and the tattoo was pretty large and I kept squirming, but Jay was super calm and that helped me a lot! Would highly recommend! I got my first tattoos here and the owner is so kind and professional. I used to get my piercings done by Ashley and she was also amazing. Then about a year and a bit after I got a tattoo done by Adrian. He seemed unpleased to be helping me and kept bashing the tattoo I wanted WHILE he was tattooing it on me. He told me "As tattoo artists sometimes you get to do real art and other times you get shitty little pieces like this". I was in disbelief and it's the last thing you want to say while getting work done. He was rough and I felt really emotionally uncomfortable in the chair. I was with a friend and she took a picture of one of his pieces on the wall (I understand she shouldn't of done this but she didn't know any better) and he lost it on her! He told her if she does that she can leave and made her delete the picture infront of him and continued to vent about how she did that. At that point we were both very uncomfortable. At the cash he reminded me to tip (which I always have) so he clearly knew he gave me a terrible experience and still had the nerve to ask for more money..I hate the tattoo because it reminds me of this awful experience with an aggressive artist. I just want it covered up but I'm not sure it can be. This is a couple of years later but I think about it every time I look at my tattoo and don't want others to go through this. Just be aware there's a few snobs at Living Colour although it's a very clean shop and there's other kind employees. I don't even feel comfortable using my real name for this review. Read Less

Living Colour is an excellent place to go for a tattoo. The entry is welcoming and relaxing, the staff is fantastic and most importantly the ink art is done cleanly and in a sterile way. The women who did my ear peircings in the past was super kind and patient. On the other hand, when me and my friend went in on a different day, we had a bad experience with another women who was really rude and condescending. If I recall correctly, she had black hair and full arm tattoos. She was very unprofessional and had a lot of attitude. It looked like she was completely uninterested in her job all together. I had a septum piercing done by Sandra a few weeks ago and the experience could not have been better.  She took the time to discuss positioning and what type of jewellery I wanted.  She even took an open enclosure ring to demo different positions on my septum so I could see it in the mirror.  She was never rushed and puts the client at ease with her communication and calm demeanor.  My septum is healing without problem and looks great! I went to Living Colour for the second time to get my conch pierced. I came with many questions and before the procedure, Sandra answered them very clearly and patiently. She talked me through the entire process - where amd how she will pierce, when she will push the needle through, and when she put the jewlery in. She's always willing to help with piercings if you come in and ask, she helped my sister change the earring in her helix. I love my new tattoo! I recently had a cover up tattoo done by Adrian, he did an incredible job. At the consultation meeting I was nervous. I thought for sure he'd tell me that my idea would not work as a cover. However, he listened to what I wanted, offered suggestions and reassured me that he could make it work. Adrian surpassed all of my expectations and created a beautiful design that perfectly covered my previous tattoo. I also appreciated that he took time to research and pick colours that accurately represented the different elements of my tattoo. Definitely not one of those intimidating tattoo shops, the vibe and ambiance is really chill and friendly and the receptionist is super nice and attentive. Bad piercing experience.I had captured bead earrings in for 2 years with no problem, so I wasn't expecting a problem to move a size up. And I decided to try a new style of earring.Instead of using a proper metal backing she used rubber bands; each earring fell off several times, I  needed to get a new elastic replaced and finally lost one.Sure I save 20% by going on a Sunday! but I ended up with nothing.Should I have known to ask for the correct fastening? Unfortunately I didn't realize what she did wrong until I went to Ink Spot. Sigh. A tattoo shop (even if you're getting a piercing) is not the place to look for a good deal. If you want to save money find a different way. I ended up paying double to g the job done right. Read Less

I went in looking to talk to someone about getting a very simple heart outline on my ring finger to have as my wedding band. The lady at the reception desk was very polite and offered to book me a consult. In our chat before she booked me, she realized what I wanted was very simple and tiny so she went back to talk to one of the artists. Jamie came out and after discussing and showing her the picture of what I was looking for, she grabbed a pen, and quickly stencilled something onto my hand. I immediately knew it was what I wanted and after some going back and forth and a bit of tweaking, she happily told me she could do it now and it would only take five minutes. She was very professional and accommodating and made sure to tell me that due to the placement of my tattoo, it wasn't guaranteed which I understood as the finger and hands in general see more action than most parts of your body. Tattoos hurt, but she made it as painless as possible and even said that I could take a break if needed - she was very courteous and polite and after looking through her portfolio, I would recommend her to anyone else.
