Great experience here! Clean and very friendly staff. My sister and I walked in to get piercings done and Kyle took us right away. Was a busy place in general though, it looked like every artist was busy tattooing. From what I saw the tattoos were really great too! It's very open inside the shop, not a lot of privacy but they can provide walls! I don't know if there is other piercers, but I recommend Kyle. He has a very chill demeaner, which calmed my nerves a lot. He was gentle and fast. You can tell he has plenty of experience! I had my tattooed eyeliner removed by Lorena. It was done by someone else who left me with an uneven line on my lower eye. Lorena was able to rid me of this horrible uneven line and I trust her so much that I am having her re tattoo my eyes :) she is so sweet and very educated about her services. I would highly recommend her for the removing of a cosmetic tattoo done by someone else. I totally agree with a previous review about trusting the shops suggestions of artist to do your piece. I found Val's work on Instagram and that is why I contacted the shop. I took my 7-year old here to get her ears pierced after hearing high recommendations and rave reviews. The guys there were amazing! Made us feel right at home, were so friendly to my daughter, talked things through with her simply, and the whole thing was done in just a couple of minutes. We walked in on a Friday afternoon to get my 7.5 month old's ears pierced. Kyle and Justin did an amazing job! They were so patient and the procedure was so quick I couldn't believe it. Then again, they've been doing this for years. They were also very accommodating in booking my husband's tattoo appointment, even checking if any artists were available that day. As a very nervous tattoo virgin, I have to say I could not possibly have received better care than the Motor City team provided. They were absolutely professional while also being laid back enough to make it a very relaxing atmosphere. My tattoo artist (Brandon Smith) took the time to make sure I knew what was happening the entire time, what to expect and was very receptive to my needs during the course of my time there. I'm so incredibly disappointed with the level of service that I received. I booked my appt with Val McBain who I know to be an amazing artist, however on the day that she tattooed me she simply did not care. I expressed several times throughout the process that it wasnt what I wanted, ask8ng what could be done to fix it and the response was nothing. My tattoo is nothing like the pictures I showed her. The shading is wrong, the outline is wrong, there's no depth. It looks nothing like a lotus. Im embarassed by it. I've contacted the shop on several occassions and never had a response from Val. I paid $762 for a tattoo that makes me want to cry. Read Less

I went here a couple years ago cam (my artist) was awesome, very nice, very good, but the customer service I received from the front was a joke. i got over charged twice because they started charging me when my appointment was not when I was in the (tattoo) chair and I called the lady out on it and she told me nothing she could do. Have no interest in going back rather have a half finished tattoo then pay 150 and hour to sit in the waiting room. Read Less

I walked in with the idea of getting all of my dad's tattoos worked into a half sleeve. The elements were 1) a crucifix with jesus on it 2)a scroll with his mum, dad, brothers and sisters names on it. 3)a rose 4)a scroll saying "MUM" ... I also gave my artist (Bryan Baker) the daunting task of making it "not too religious".... I also wanted some thistles and some shamrocks thrown in. I realize now how much of a crazy task taking something like "Jesus on a cross" and making it "Not Religious" and still come up with something I would love, actually was. I'm here to say that he's done it! So much talent! I have one more session to finish it all off, but already I'm super impressed by the talent, atmosphere, artists, and all around feeling of MCT! My daughter and I recently had commerative tattoos done and touch up to 5 year old tattoos at Motor City Tattoos. Brandon was absolutely awesome. I have gotten piercings from Motor city since I was in highschool(I am now 22 and graduated college) and I thought it was about time for me to write a review. I have gotten my belly, nose, cartilage, two regular lobe, and hip dermal(S) at Motor City. Not all of these piercings are in anymore since some I removed because I outgrew some. I cannot stress how amazing motor city is. Never have I had any issues with something rejecting, or being pierced crooked or getting infected. I just went recently for my birthday to get a second cartridge done. They are so friendly and professional. Justin is amazing and he will make you feel relaxed. He is an amazing professional and I urge anyone in the area to go to him for piercings. He explains everything in detail both while he is doing it and also about the aftercare. I don't know if they sterilized their equipment properly or not, but I ended up contracting a very serious case of MRSA from my first piercing. I had my belly button pierced and a few weeks later I started developing boils all over my body, which I later found out was a serious staph infection. Took me about six months to fully get rid of it. Make sure the piercers are using BRAND NEW needles and that they sterilize everything properly, including clamps. Read Less

Went here for a few things. First was to get my navel re-pierced, the experience was good, staff is great and makes sure you are ready. They offer snacks if you need it. Second experience was to get two tattoos done. Overall, the healing process went by effortlessly and the rates aren't terrible. Got my nose pierced here, and had to eventually take it out after 6 weeks because it was infected. I knew it wasnt my fault because I was taking wonderful care of it. I went to another piercing shop and they informed me that Motor City Tattoos completely used the wrong type of jewelry, way too big for my nose, and did the entire thing unproper. You can't get much better than Motor City Tattoos for a totally amazing tattoo or piercing experience.  Located between King E, and Bond E in Oshawa this shop has been a pillar in the community for a number of years.I started going when Cam (Cameron Roach, my artist) was just an apprentice under Jim.  That was many years ago (blush) but I still make a point to visit a couple times a year.  These days Cam has at least a 3-month waiting list, but his work is definitely worth the wait.  If you want to get on his good side, Cam's favorite candy is Pink Lozenges; those chalky pink circles.  You can grab them at the Dollar Store at the building next door before you head in.  My first experience at Motor City got me hooked.  I had an idea for a chest piece, and within a few days Cam had a custom piece completely designed for me.  The piece then turned into shoulders, ribs, legs.  Well, you know how it goes :PAs for safety they have a flawless track record, and with me specifically I have never had a problem with them.  The shop is spacious, lots of room to stretch out and ample room for your friends and family to come watch you get a permanent life moment. Most importantly they are very friendly.  I have been in many a tattoo shop where you get hit with a face full of attitude as soon as you walk in the door.  As for pricing, they charge around $110 / hour, depending on your artist.  But ultimately it's probably best to go in and ask questions about what you want to get done.
