For the love of fuck, don't go here. Okay - that started off harsh. But honestly, my stick-n-poke done by my friend in her basement looks better than the tattoo I got here. I never got the artist's name but I was a walk-in, not close to closing or anything. He told me he needed to charge me $80 for a black outline of a bat the size of a fucking toonie, and I paid it because I respect the craft. It's healed now, and literally half of the body of it is so fucked up. As you can see in the picture, one wing is so much thicker than the other, and one ear is at a weird angle. Now I have to pay some other artist to attempt to do something with it. Thanks a fucking lot. Read Less

Poor quality. Okay experience. On a whim, my friend and I decided to get matching tattoos, so we called numerous places in and around Niagara. We each wanted a small turtle dove on the inside of our wrist so Lucky 13 said they would be able to "squeeze us in." We went and Steve was quite entertaining. He was very enjoyable to speak with, and tried including all of us (one friend was present, but not getting a tattoo) so we felt comfortable/content in the shop. He did my friends tattoo, and although she is happy with it, she said that she would like to go in and have it fixed because it is not what she expected for $80. As for my tattoo, it was completed by Brad, who also did the drawings for us. He showed me his initial sketch, and I asked if he would redo it closer to the picture I had of what I wanted, so he went back to the drawing board. He reconstructed his image and it was cute, but still not quite what we had asked for. We proceeded with the tattoo anyways, and Brad barely spoke to me before or during the process, and gave me no instructions for care after the tattoo. I asked, and he said to "treat it like an open wound - just don't let it get infected." After taking the bandage off later that night, I noticed that lines were crossed over in spots they shouldn't be, the wings had both pointy tips and bubbly, and lines were thicker in some areas than others. I returned home (as I'm not from Niagara) and showed an artist who had done a previous tattoo for me. He said that the artist at Lucky 13 had gone too deep in my skin so the ink was blown out. I was lucky enough that this artist fixed my tattoo, added some white to shade out poor areas, and he added a second wing so my dove looked more like the one I originally wanted. Although I could have asked Brad to sketch the image again, for further care instructions, or even called to discuss the quality the following day before I left Niagara, I did not feel that he was approachable. I am 100% happy with the tattoo I now have, but in my opinion, Lucky 13 is not somewhere I would recommend. If they were unable to successfully complete a simple outline of a dove, I fear what they would do for any larger, more extravagant pieces. Read Less

Stopped by for a last minute tattoo before going back to the U.S. earlier today. The two dudes there were super friendly and cool, Steve and Glenn if I'm not mistaken. The tattoo came out awesome, would highly recommend. When they asked where I was from, I said Springfield, Massachusetts (the birthplace of basketball). But they told me it was invented in Canada. I was super confused because all my life I've been told it was Springfield, MA and we have the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield for that reason. Upon doing some research, I realized it was invented by a Canadian man who was living in Springfield, MA at the time of it's invention. So it seems we were both right in our own ways! Pretty interesting for any basketball fans out there! Read Less

I was very disappointed with Steve.  Our family had visited his tattoo shop back in 2013, so we decided to go back when a group of us wanted some custom work done in 2016.  We were only in town for the weekend, so we called him a month in advance to let him know four or five of us were wanting tats.  Over the phone, he seemed willing to take us on and said he would write us in his schedule.  The night before our appts when we got into town, we went to his shop to discuss our ideas and from the moment we walked in the door, his demeanor was unpleasant and uninviting.  I told him that we were the group that had called in advance and he explained his Saturdays were for walk-ins.  I was floored, as I had already arranged everything with him previously.  He reluctantly decided he would take us on even though his assistant no longer worked there and he was on his own; however, then it seemed he wouldn't agree to what everyone wanted...."that spot won't work", "that design isn't good" and when we said we were getting memorial tats for my teenage son who died in a car accident a few months before, he shrugged it off like "so?"  Wow - nice response!  Then to top it off, he said it was going to cost us $200 each.  This was ridiculous as some people were getting a small black ink only design or writing only (plus we knew what he charged the last time we went -- which was no where near this price)  It was like he was trying not to take us on. This whole ordeal ended in a big blow out and none of us got tats that weekend which was very disappointing as we had planned it for months.  I'm not sure if he was having a bad day but his arrogance and attitude lost him our business.  Before you decide on going here, talk to him personally with your idea and get a price.  Maybe you'll catch him in a better mood.  Good luck!
