It has been years since I've gotten professional colour work as I was just too unhappy with what was out there... that was until I came across Hair Circus through both Vegfest & Instagram and knew they would be the solution to my problem. For two years I struggled to justify treating myself to a new colour, but finally gave in. I booked with Danielle at the Taste of Ink Tattoos & Hair Salon and through some back and forth email conversations determined the cut and colours we were going to play with. The excitement built until my appointment day and I was like a kid at Christmas by the time I left. Giddy, feeling fresh and fabulous and ready to just go play in the world. The studio was quiet and lovely, with a little dog from the tattoo side running around softly looking adorable to boot. My daughter and I got our first tattoos done this week by Aaron. So VERY talented. He totally created what we each had in mind. He is extremely talented. So glad we chose him to do our tattoos. I had my mind set on getting unicorn hair for a while but I wanted to make sure I did it right. I scoured reddit, pinterest, and instagram for the best looks and I came across #HairCircus. Hair Circus is a cooperative of local stylists who specialize in alternative styles from fantasy colour to dreadlocks. I decided to message them to book an appointment.I met Danielle at The Taste of Ink where she she has a chair. The salon/studio is very large, clean, and nicely decorated. I looked through some of the flash books on the table in the waiting area and the art inside was so beautiful. Danielle worked on my hair while the studio was closed so it was just us. She was so easy to talk to and we share a love for music festivals and Neko Atsume (this addicting cat game on our phones lol). I pretty much gave her free rein because I didnt really know what I wanted. I knew I wanted pink hair and I knew I didnt want it to fade in less than 2 weeks. She lightened my base by painting my hair. She then placed a darker pink on the roots and a light pink throughout the rest. The result was amazing. She created a colour that was one-of-a-kind and it really shows. When my hair is up, it's very dark purply-pink but when it is down, it is very light and soft. If you want to take the plunge to a new and exciting colour, whether it is fantasy or not, I would suggest going to Danielle. She uses animal friendly/vegan products and she knows her stuff when it comes to colour! I'd definitely return to the Hair Circus for more fun! Read Less
