First time at Moms tattoo today for their walk ins. At first wasn't sure about getting it done, but Kate was really great and friendly and I ended up getting my tattoo within two hours without calling them in advance, which was great! Sam did an amazing job on my tattoo design. She was very relaxed and did my tattoo quick without taking away any quality! The design is perfect!!. Got my first tattoo here and they were really able to calm my nerves. After they were done she talked me through everything I should do to ensure my new tattoo heals properly. Gord is a great artist! He gave my simple ideas a creative twist, and they turned out great. Plus the guy is hilarious and makes the experience fun! I find that the people who complain about their tattoo artists just don't understand that other people CAN'T READ YOUR MIND. Speak up and you'll likely have a great experience if you pick a good artist. Mom's tattoo shop is one of the less pretentious shops in KW in my opinion. It's easy to feel comfortable there. Lost my tattoo virginity at Mom's, and really glad that that's where I got my first one. If you go in with a good sense of what you want, Gord is great at visualizing it and making it come true. I was especially blown away by my second tattoo because it was way more complex than my first, and it came out looking better than I'd imagined it would be. Mom's is such a huge supportive tattoo parlor for queer and trans folks by consistently offering amazing prizes and gift certificates to non-profit fundraisers! Not to mention their skilled tattoo artists who get as (if not more) excited about the types of artwork you want on your skin. Adam put together an amazing set of clear, thick outlining for my half sleeve depicting an alien invasion (wait for the other half!). These folks are always a treat to talk to and are so welcoming that you'll probably leave Mom's with a few new friends. Read Less

My husband, daughter and I went in today to get some new artwork. It was the first for my husband and daughter and Adam made us feel completely comfortable right away. He took the time to go through everything with us and made this experience one to remember forever. I'm so happy we took all of his recommendations that ensured our tattoos came out looking exactly like we envisioned. We travelled 2 hours to see Adam and spent the entire day there. I cannot express how Happy we are with the results. Adam is extremely proud of his work and his attention to detail was above all of our expectations. My sister, her friend and I went to Moms Tattoo for simple stencils. The artist did not comply with the look we wanted, and became rather frustrated as he changed our entire design and we wanted to work with him to get it perfect (since it's on our bodies for life and all, and we were paying to get it done). We understood that the lettering we wanted would stretch over time, but still he was frustrated and kept storming in and out, ripping up paper and was (very) evidently angry with his tone and body language. This was making us super anxious and stressed out - more than we already were for my sister's first tattoo, and my 3rd. He didn't try to meet us in the middle, and it was clear he was frustrated with us from beginning to end. Our tattoos ended up in the font we didn't want, and a size we didn't want, but his artistry was quick and beautiful nevertheless. :) he did a wonderful job, in a super super super sanitary fashion. We ended up liking the tattoos, but we felt anxious and pressured to comply with what HE wanted and not what WE wanted, after planning our design for weeks and not coming out with our perfect design. The price was very very reasonable and the aftercare was straightforward and helpful, but we wish he would have worked with us instead of against us. :( We're all human, so perhaps we just caught him on a bad day, but this should not have affected customer service. I would recommend Mom's Tattoo to others, but maybe work with the artist ahead of time even for a simple design. Read Less
