I am from Toronto and was visiting Kingston. I was looking through shops and came upon Old Soul and a particular artist named Celeste who does beautiful traditional Japanese. The warm reception I received from the shop was comforting and made me feel at ease. The receptionist was very kind and the booking of the appointment over the phone went smooth and easy. Celeste was very accommodating and created a piece I was completely enamored with. I cannot say enough good things about her and the work she put out. I am hoping in the future to get more Japanese work done by her. The process was done in one sitting which took 7 hours and Celeste worked very hard taking only one break. She was a down to earth. kind caring and understanding individual and went the extra mile to make sure I got a piece I would love. Her work ethic is top notch and I have been tattooed by 4 other artists and I can say the experience with her was the best I have had. *Super* clean shop with friendly staff who take the time to explain each step from before you sit down through to the end of after care. Brought my daughter here to have her nose pierced for her birthday, and while there was a little difficulty (no one's fault except that little, flat nose!) the piercer stayed calm and professional which in turn made my daughter stay calm as well. Won a free piercing on instagram, decided to have my daith done. The day of the car wouldn't start but they were accommodating. The whole experience was so friendly. She treated me no different than a paying customer. Explained everything that was going to happened made sure I was comfortable to start and ok through the whole thing, even sent me home with sea salt to clean it. Celese took my wife and I in with almost no notice.. Our original idea on the placement of our tattoo, would've caused it too fade horribly in only a few years.. Instead of just giving us the tattoo, she cared enough and had the integrity to explain to us the fading issue we would have been stuck with... With the knowledge she gave us, we decided to adjusted the position.. We ended up being twice as happy with the new placement then we would've with our original idea.. Went to check out the new shop after work tonight and saw a flash that I really liked. They were super accommodating in making time for me to get it done without an appointment. Andrew did a great job with it and added the personal touch to it that I had asked for. The atmosphere and people at the shop made it great and a very relaxing environment while getting my piece done.
