Was a bit nervous showing up at a tattoo shop for my first tattoo at the end of the day on a Wednesday as to what kind of quality I could expect... turned out it would be a phenomenal 5 star experience lol. Got a tattoo done by Mat and even though I had chosen something fairly small and simple the time and dedication he put into the work really stood out. You can tell he's not some fly-by-night hipster off the street and really cares about his craft and the artistry behind it. Alex helped out with setting up the appointment, taking care of the paper work, getting the design squared away and processing the payment. I always recommend this shop to all my family and friends. My first experience started with Travis (the owner). I walked in right on his time to close and asked for my tongue to be pierced. I felt bad because I thought there was another hour before closing, but Travis was super excited to do it. I was nervous at first and it took me 2-3 times to be officially ready to do it. Travis was patient, kind and very caring as I have an anxiety disorder. After the piercing he let me lay on the couch in the shop and drink water until I felt comfortable enough to leave. He was never in the slightest impatient or anything even though it was closing time. My second experience was 3 months after my tongue piercing, I got my first tattoo with Leo. It was only a 20 minute tattoo, but I was so nervous. Leo was very patient and understanding to my needs; even though it wasn’t a long tattoo, he was okay with taking breaks and making sure I was comfortable. My third experience was with Venus! I got an important tattoo done for my mom. Venus was so funny and caring. I had absolutely zero anxiety when walking in and meeting her for the first time. I had 100% positivity that she was going to do a bang on job and do the tattoo with confidence! I’m so impressed with her work and her as a person. I will definitely be coming back to Venus for another tattoo! When booking my appointment with Venus I was with Matt, and I asked him to pair me up with someone who would understand my anxiety to the fullest. He told me that everyone in the shop understands and he answered my questions to the fullest and helped me pick out how I wanted my tattoo shaded and everything. This is my first tattoo incorporating shading and he was kind enough to take the time out of his lunch to help me decide! This tattoo shop is the first shop I have been able to walk into without any type of fear or anxiety and not feeling hounded by people who think “this stuff is just easy”. Been pierced by Faith and it was a great experience! Was very nervous because my septum had already been pierced a few times before but she made sure she could get it in a good spot without hitting scar tissue and ensuring it was even. Will always trust her with any further piercing I get. As for lashes, Grim City is the best place to go! Patrick puts so much care into what he does and makes sure you’re comfortable and know what is happening as he is putting them on and sealing them after. My experience was amazing memorable. Two years at the old location, was the first time having my tattoo done. Not knowing what to expect, my tattoo was done poorly even friends of mine had said so. I had decided to return once again to the newer location since other places were booked. My artist was Leo and he was very professional and amazing. I had told him what happened and he had retouched with no charge and with my second tattoo he had given me all sorts of different options that would be suited for me. I got my first tattoo at the original Grim City location when I was 16, now I am 21 and I'm still going in to the new location to get my tattoos and piercings. I have always loved the staff who make everything very calm and welcoming, and the building itself is a nice open concept as well as being professional. Travis did my shoulder tattoo and it's been about 3 years since I got it people still compliment me and ask me where I got my tattoos. I got pierced by Faith back In March and she was fantastic! I originally came in on Sunday for the deals they have going on where you can get basic piercings for cheaper and because they were so busy she pierced me, along with others, on Monday through an appointment. She was so sweet and treated you like a friend instead of just another client but was also super professional! My brother an I chose this tattoo shop because it has so many great reviews. From the second we walked in I knew this was the shop for us. ALL of the staff are eager to help, professional, welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly. My brother and I were advised what artist would be best for each peice we wanted so we would get the best quality possible (even though every artist there does amazing work and can do everything, they also specialize in certain styles). Each artist cha...rges by the hour plus tax and are well priced. All wavers and receipts are digital. The consultation was professional fast and easy, my appointment was booked and I was on my way with my $60 deposit card in no time. Sheldon did my tattoo and I can't say enough about this dude. He made me a custom zelda watercolour piece that he put together based on a reference I gave him. He was so great, my tattoo is beyond amazing. Crisp straight lines, vibrant watercolour, and of my previous 11 tattoos this was the least painful tattoo I've ever had as he's incredibly light handed. I emailed on a Sunday for a Monday appointment, my email was returned right away and they were able to fit me in the next day for a bday tattoo :) Sheldon was my artist. He's just a young gun but man can this kid pull clean lines!! Super impressed with the whole experience from beginning to end. Being a business owner, I'm really particular about customer service and that is what I think I was most impressed with about this shop. I was absolutely impressed not only with the artist that did my work (Shane) but also the other artists around as well! My sister-in-law and I went and got tattoos done together. I had my septum peirced. I was very nervous and the pericer was very professional. Explained everything to me before hand and waited for me take a breath to make sure i was ready. I also sat 7.5 hours for a tattoo. Another amazing experince. artist was gentle and patient with me when i had to take breaks to use the washroom and eat. Tattoo turned out amazing and i constantly get compliments on it. Its also very important to me that the shop is vegan and cruelty free. I also really appreciate the fact that they donate their time and money to ladybird animal sanctuary. Overall, fantastic shop. I had my tragus pierced by the apprentice and it was nothing short of a great experience. After getting pierced I think I stood up too soon and ended up light headed and puked(�booo). The apprentice (I forget his name) was so quick to get me water and m&ms and wet cloths for the back of my neck. Feeling like the biggest idiot on the face of this earth, he reassured me that it happens more often then not, and not to feel stupid. On top of that, the shop is very clean, and welcoming. From the start with Shane taking his time to ensure all the elements that I was looking for being included, to the sterile and safe environment that was provided I was incredibly impressed throughout the entire time. Shane even was able to recognize that he wouldn't be able to get everything done properly and instead of rushing we set up a secondary appointment to ensure that the quality is the uppermost.
