I have visited Bold Statements twice now and have gotten three pieces done by the highly anticipated Timothy Strange. I have followed his work on instagram for some time now and was extremely pleased with the turn out! From the moment I walked into the shop I loved the environment. Both visits only Tim and Crystal were in and it was a great time. They have a great work ethic with each other which influenced my confidence in the shop. One of the things I like most about Bold Statements is theres no funny business going on. Very straight to the point! Both times I went Tim stayed later to finish my pieces and it is very clear he takes pride in his work. I also want to take note on the cleanliness. As mentioned, I went in with other people both times, each time they also had gotten something done. Tim ensured he maintained a very clean and sterile environment which made me feel 10x more comfortable. My overall experience was filled with a lot of laughs and good times. I had such a great experience at bold statement. My friend and I went in the previous week to get a tattoo, she loved hers so we decided to go back and both get tattoos done by Tim. He was very friendly and drew up all of the tattoos that we wanted. Tim and Crystal were both in the shop with us as we all just made jokes and had a great time and experience. The environment was very comfortable as my friend and myself were able to relax and not be so nervous about our tattoos. Tim did an amazing job with both of our tattoos as we got two each. He captured what we envisioned perfectly. He even stayed a bit later and made sure to take his time in order for us to get exactly what we wanted. I got a small tattoo and a cartilage piercing from this shop about a year ago. A penny sized tattoo cost 100$ and I was not told the cost beforehand, they also did not have a sign anywhere stating the minimum cost. (There is also nothing on their website) The tattoo artist that I got seemed annoyed that I wanted a tattoo, numerous times he told me to wait for my original tattoo to fade into nothing and not get it touched up. I was pretty confused but I still wanted to get my tattoo done. He drew up a little heart, I'll admit that it was perfectly symmetrical. But, when he began the tattoo I thought he was just going to do an outline but he ended up filling it in with black, I didn't really mind either way but because he just assumed and didn't ask it made me very annoyed. So whatever, at that point it was just a lot of miscommunication, I should have spoken up more and I am happy with how the tattoo turned out. But I still have my cartilage piercing to talk about. I called in about a week ahead of time to book an appointment for a triple helix. A week later the day of the appointment I arrived 15 minutes early and the lady who was supposed to pierce me had booked a walk in client during my appointment time. I waited an additional 20 minutes for her client to finish, and the piercer told me she forgot that I had booked an appointment for that day. It seems that they wrote in a book their appointments and didn't check it daily. Because she forgot about my appointment she did not have enough needles to give me a triple helix and I ended up only getting one piercing. Additionally they have a dog just walking around the shop? It seems unsanitary and unprofessional. I would not recommend this shop even to my worst enemy, you'll end up with a better looking tattoo and friendlier service going down the road to sideshow in my opinion. Read Less

I went to see Shantelle because I knew her as an apprentice back in the days and that now she had been tattooing for a while and she was good but the main reason I switched is because of the lack of punctuality from a previous artist, customer appointment was second priority, so many hours wasted for waiting, artist not showing up often, sometimes no phone calls. Shantelle is way more professional in her approach and seem to care about the customers. I will be going for my third tattoo now and it's been great. She definitely has talent and the place is clean. I got two dermal piercings under my collar bone by Crystal I'm sure, and she told me everything I needed to know before hand, took time with me to get the positioning JUST right, was very informative and great to work with! A few weeks ago my 15 year old son decided he wanted his ears pierced. I was going to take him to talk to a few different places and see what each one had to say. The first place we went to was Bold... we spoke to Krystal and left feeling so comfortable that we didn't go to anywhere else- we actually went back less than an hr later to book an appointment. My son's appointment was today and he had Krystal do his piercings. I can't say enough about our experience! The place sme...lls of cleaner which I loved, and she sterilized the table and chair in front of us and all needles, earings, Qtips ect came right out of an individual package and disposed of immediately. And she didn't rush where she marked the holes. She redid the marks a few times and she changed her gloves like 3 times anytime she had to stop and leave the area. Also, SUPER friendly. This place is awesome. Everyone is super nice, very laid back atmosphere. My wife and I have both had a couple of tattoos done there and are so happy with the quality work. Special thanks to Matt Owen who was able to really take our concepts and turn them into incredible designs, super helpful because we didn't have an exact image of our own. I've had 3 tattoos done by Matt and they have all been fantastic. He is so calming and keeps you at ease during the whole process. I had 2 bigger longer sessions with him and the time went by faster than I thought it would. He took my ideas and were able to transfer exactly what I wanted. I cried after each session, not because of the pain but because I finally got the tattoos that I wanted. Would highly recommend him and Bold Statement to anyone.
