There's no denying Allie's work is phenominal. She did a piece on my leg with amazing color and detail. This girl is talented beyond belief. However, she doesn't reply to emails, doesn't follow up prior to appts to ensure clients like the piece she created, no contact until the day of your appt. Leave work early, get a sitter, drive an hour to your mystery appt and be sure to say yes ma'am or she will give you your deposit back and claim you are not meshing, even if the examples you gave her are her own work but she comes up with none of those elements! Oh...and don't expect touch ups or even a peak at your previous piece, reject the current idea and her sensitive ego has no room for follow up on that! RESPONSE TO SHOP OWNER'S RESPONSE; I have 3 children, don't ever accuse me of bullying, that is obsurd and insulting. This is a review site, not a place to dispute a clients perception. Please feel free to post the emails that I've sent to Allie and you would clearly be mistaken in much of what you said. I was never given the option to review a few days prior because I would have done so. As I clearly said in my last email, and any before that, please let me know you received this and allow me to see what we are planning because I dont want to waste your precious time. No response ever. I said it healed perfectly and didnt scab because I'm just your average person who got inked, not an artist. Isn't it standard practice to check? Am I to know if there are any spots that may need touching up? Simply put, I didnt see any semblance in her suggested piece that would indicate my email was even read. If we didnt 'mesh' I wouldnt have a massive piece of her work on my leg! I'd like to think it's okay for me to not agree to a permanent piece on my arm if I don't feel it was anything like the examples I gave! Clearly she chose to take offense to that and be done with working with me, no revisions, secondary ideas, nothing. Just sign here saying we are permanently cancelling?? I appreciate the return of my deposit, thank you but that does not negate the fact that this was dealt with in a less than professional or mature manner! I was respectful yet picky and shunned for that? Furthermore, any question I've asked in this post was completely rhetorical and a response is not necessary. Matt tattooed my best friend and I which we were very happy with his work and him! he was very focused and made sure we were comfortable with what we wanted! However, the front desk (whom I believe is the owner?) was pretty rude from the moment my best friend and I came in. we showed up 30 mins. early to make sure if they took debit or not, she instantly said "you're half an hour early and no we don't take debit. cash or credit only". Meanwhile, they have an interac sign and a visa sign out on their front window. After our tattoos were done, she gave us the final price. we were surprised and disappointed because it wasn't what we were quoted for but understandably Matt did a beautiful and amazing job on our tattoo that it went over the hour. When we told the owner we had to go cash out more money, she rolled her eyes at us and sighed. We are not happy with the experience we received from the owner but happy with Matt. unfortunately we won't be going back to Modern Addictions anymore due to the owners unprofessional experience. I had my first tattoo done this past Saturday and was a bit nervous going in since I had only met with the artist Dan Cuvay for about 5 mins the day I left my deposit. Tattoo day my appointment was for noon and on the way there (I live in Fergus) I received a call that my appointment was pushed for 1pm. Didn't actually get started until almost 2pm but that's because Dan had to re-draw my stencil and made sure that all my specifications were in place. I have to say that he is meticulous and I was so grateful because I ended up with a stunning tatto that far exceeded my expectations. His line work and colour blend is spot-on!! Was kinda off put by the person at reception. She was kinda rude talking to me. Walked in and she immediately harped "no childern" ( I had my 3 month old in stroller, I didn't know it wasn't ok) said sorry I then said I just was unqiring in a tat by Allie an artist there. Said that her books were closed till October, (which is fine I understand that's she's a busy artist)... I wasn't looking for anything too soon anyway but she wasn't really pleasant about it. Didn't ask what I'd like to have done, how she could help or anything though. Felt kinda snubbed off. Maybe she was just busy or having bad day, or cuz I brought my baby with in with me? ... They did it exactly the way I wanted it, even when I wanted an unconventional way, they didn't push me to have the way they thought at first. I was a little skeptical at first at how the tattoo process was, not being able to see my tattoo idea drawn up until my appointment 2 weeks later. Then was only given the choice to leave a $40 deposit that was nonrefundable. In my 6 tattoos that I already had, this had never happened. If it wasn't for Jens advice back in the summer on my tattoo idea, I probably would have gone somewhere else. Skip to tattoo day. Appointment was at 12. 12:45 comes and I hadn't even been stencilled yet. Turns out my artist Dan was making sure my idea was just right. It turned out even better than I was picturing in my head. An exceptional shop all around. Talented, professional artists and staff. They are down to earth, honest, clean and make you feel at home.
