How have I not reviewed Thrive yet!!! Omg. Been going to Thrive for ages. One of the reviews below is from a friend I drove down to Thrive, lol. So I have fancy earrings - two orbitals, rook, tragus, and conch piercings. And I like my piercings to have pretty, delicate, unique jewelry. After moving to Toronto, I needed a new source for jewelry, piercing, and repairs. In Toronto, I've been to: Exotix, Adrenaline, Black Line, all the major names... And frankly, as someone who has been pierced and shopped for jewelry all over North America, the Toronto places all kinda suck. Exotix scarred me. Black Line told me that my piercings were wrong, cause they don't do them. Ha. Adrenaline is one step up from Claire's at the mall. Almost daily, someone asks me about my earrings, and I explain that you can't get pierced anywhere in Toronto. If you are serious about getting pierced, make the drive to Thrive Studios in Cambridge and see Jesse.Jesse (the owner of Thrive) is a serious piercer, internationally recognized. He actually teaches workshops and seminars at piercing conferences on topics like proper sterilization. He's amazing at what he does and he's hilarious. He's also incredible with ears - there is no one else in all of Canada that I would trust with piercings more than him. I've had other international piercers try and fail to even change my jewelry (ahem, Maria Tash), Jesse is the best. He pierced my tragus with zero pain, perfect healing. All the friends of mine that he has pierced have had similar perfect experiences. Thrive only stocks the very best, highest quality jewelry, and they don't jack the prices either. I've worked with them to order several custom pieces and they have never disappointed. Brands include Anatometal, BVLA, Neometal, all the good stuff. A piercing is a commitment - take the time to go to the best, and get yourself to Thrive. Oh and they also do tattoos - but it's a piercing studio that also does tattoos, not the other way around, haha. Happy piercing!

Both Lindsay and Danny were calming fun and professional. Highly recommend and will definately be back. You get one you want more.

I love this place. I used to get piercings from Jesse at Eternal. I've been to Thrive several times now and each has been a great experience. I had my lip pierced again by Daniel, he's great. Recently I had a tattoo done by Angela and I absolutely love it. She did an amazing job. I'm looking forward to working with Angela on some more pieces. The staff here are nice and always helpful.

As was everyone at Thrive :) I went there for my first time today to get one of my earring holes re-pierced as it had closed up - Dan took the time to explain all the different jewellery options and their details (closures, metal, brands, prices) he answered aaaall of my questions and concerns (I brought in a pair of earrings I had bought for this thinking they would be best - he took the time to look them over, explained why they would not be a great idea and not in a trying to push a sale way at all, just the details, post was a little too short for my ear etx in fact since he didn't have to pierce my ear in the end, he simply "re-opened" the hold so he did not charge me for that service!!! despite all the time he spent with me, nor did they try to sell me after-care products that I didn't need, I simply purchased the earrings from them). I ended up choosing the Neometal Swarovski studs which were the first ones he suggested for me - he has got a great eye :) The studio is so pretty and you can tell their attention to cleaniless, hygiene and safety is top-notch, they offer complimentary wifi and coffee for their clients while they wait and Dan even had hair elastics at the ready (since I didn't think to bring one) so I could put my hair up for when he looked at my ears - it's those little details and attention to care that stand out and are so impressive!! I absolutely recommend Thrive :) Their care of their clients, honesty, professionalism, fun and expertise make them the standard - Beautiful people, Beautiful service, Beautiful studio

Nicola did an amazing job on my tattoo and went above and beyond to add a little extra detail to my piece. Had a really great experience here through the whole process of getting a tattoo done. It was not a short process as it took awhile to get my appointment with Lindsay, but well worth the wait...and really if it's a short wait I would be worried...she is booked out so much because of how talented she is. Took in a bunch of reference pics to get my daughter's name tattooed on me and within minutes, Lindsay's expertise was able to narrow the style right down and in the end it turned out way better than I could have hoped!! Great artist, super clean shop and very pleasant staff all around to deal with. Thanks again to you all for the great experience....if I decide to get another tattoo down the road, I know where I'll be going!!

I took my 8-year old daughter to get her ears pierced at Thrive Studios after being told it was a great place to go. We saw Daniel, and he was absolutely wonderful with her - he played her favourite music and made little jokes here and there to help her feel comfortable. He was extremely clean and explained all the steps to her so she wasn’t left wondering what was happening, and he even ended it off with showing her proper hand washing procedures for when she has to clean her ears. He even threw in a magic trick when we were done, which she still says was amazing. Her ears weren’t even sore afterwards, and you wouldn’t even know she just got them done. Highly recommend him for your child’s ear piercing!

I got pierced by Daniel yesterday and am already looking for a reason to go back! By far the best piercing experience I've had. Daniel was meticulous with the placement and making sure that they were absolutely perfect, and did such a great job making sure I was comfortable and relaxed the whole time. Not only did I have a great experience in the studio, but the next day there was virtually no swelling or discomfort. Never going anywhere else!

I would recommend anyone looking for a new piercing, or even just new jewelry, to go visit Daniel at Thrive Studios. He was patient in letting me choose a couple new pieces of jewelry, holding up a few different options so I could see what they would look like before they were installed. The studio is super clean and sanitary, piercing tools and new jewelry was properly ran through an autoclave before proceeding. This studio has hit the mark on everything I was expecting. I would encourage anyone in the KW area to make the short drive, the results are worth it.

He told me what would look good, what would still look good years down the road, and he even drew my design in studio. Matt knew what he was talking about and he is insanely talented. Great staff, very clean, and great artists. I'm so in love with my new tattoo!! Thanks again Matt! Robert is one hell of an artist. the best shading and contrast I've seen in a tattoo hands down. well worth every hour and every dollar.

Everyone at Thrive is very helpful and courteous. It really does have a friendly and upscale environment. I was a little apprehensive about my tattoo and started having second thoughts. James was amazing and took the time to sit down with me a second time and go over every aspect of my tattoo and talk out all my concerns. He was very understanding and did not pressure me or make me feel silly for my questions. I am absolutely thrilled with my tattoo! James really puts his heart into his work and it shows in the quality and care he takes with every tattoo. Its only been a week and has healed amazingly and looks stunning. Thank you so much James Bird!

When I told him I'll just go somewhere else, he didn't seem to care. This new guy (Matt) needs some work with his customer service. What a waste of my time today.

I have had all my tattoos done at Thrive. I love how welcoming and clean it is and everyone is so friendly. 9 years ago I had my first one done for my father that past away and yesterday I had the one done for my mother who also passed done by James, it hasn't even healed and I am planning my next one already. They are friendly there and love the way they make you feel comfortable. Definitely going back and I also introduced my sister in law to them who will be coming back with me.

Yesterday I got a tattoo done by James and I am in love with it! He was so friendly and did such an amazing job. It's a paw print from my (large, mind you) dog Quinn. She is a fuzzy thing and he captured the little fur marks between her toes and even the smallest cracks of the pads of her foot. It's better than I was hoping for. The lettering with her name under it is beautiful too. I've had tattoos in the past where the lines weren't straight and the artists were rude, so I did a lot of research with with one and I'm so happy I landed on Thrive. I will definitely be back for more work with James!

I had my tattoo done by Lindsay. The tattoo is amazing. My experience was not. This was in November 2015. I was there for a memorial tattoo for my friend who killed himself. I had a consultation and we agreed on what I wanted and she would sketch it beforehand. I wanted a phrase and then my friends signature underneath. When I showed up all she has done was my friends signature and was super annoyed when I said that's not what I wanted. Even though we had discussed in length ...and in person what I wanted. I had to sit there for 45 minutes while she re sketched my tattoo. She didn't apologize or acknowledge that she had made a mistake. I would not go back to her. Good tattoo but not a good experience. Also my tattoo started to fade after a few months but I of course did not think she would care and will be going somewhere else to get it touched up. See More

I had hummed and hawed over the piercing, having heard some rather disheartening stories about the healing process. Eventually, I decided to bite the bullet and try my "luck".Boy, am I glad I did! Jesse was BEYOND fantastic. He's an incredibly skilled piercer with an awesome bedside manner, his studio is clean, and his jewelry offerings are top of the line.It's been over a year since I got my piercing (April 2015, to be exact), and my ear healed up beautifully. I highly (HIGHLY) recommend Jesse. Well worth the trip, time, and money spent.

Super happy with the new artists at Thrive. I returned to Thrive a little hesitant after a bad experience with an artist. Now that Thrive has changed their artists, the studio has a new positive, committed staff. I have waited several years to find the right artist to bring my vision to life and I found that in Lindsay at Thrive. She was patient and understanding of my needs and came up with the perfect design to fit my needs. I am overjoyed with the design she created and now I can feel proud to show off my work of art. Thank you Thrive studios staff for accommodating me and for the professionalism and heart you have for this business. I am forever grateful.

Jesse is the best of the best. If you want your piercing done PROPERLY and PROFESSIONALLY, Jesse is the one for you. He is very knowledgeable and friendly and makes everyone feel relaxed and comfortable whether you're there for your very first piercing, or your 20th. Piercings are one of those things that you really get what you pay for. And although you may pay a little more at THRIVE, it's because they're using top of the line jewellery and equipment to make sure you get a safe piercing that heals up beautifully.His shop is clean and bright and he's happy to show you how all of his equipment is sterilized and stored. Jesse is also happy to have you come see him after your piercing is done if you have any questions or concerns about it.I highly recommend THRIVE to anyone and everyone considering a piercing; you will not be disappointed with your piercing, the service or the atmosphere. Jesse has done many piercings for me and every single one has been a positive experience. Honestly, I live in Guelph and I make the drive over to Cambridge to have Jesse do my work because he is, in fact, that good.

I live outside Sudbury and it is definitely worth the 6+ hours drive to get there. Excellent work, professional staff and very friendly to boot.

This is how all tattoo studios should be. Ultra clean. The staff are super friendly and helpful. It repeatedly wins readers choice awards for the best tattoo place in the city. The tattoo artists are just that, artists. My wife and I have each had several tattoos done here. Her last was a full custom piece that Chris Anthon created for her.For me, This is the only place to go for a tattoo.

I ended up choosing the Neometal Swarovski studs which were the first ones he suggested for me - he has got a great eye :) The studio is so pretty and you can tell their attention to cleaniless, hygiene and safety is top-notch, they offer complimentary wifi and coffee for their clients while they wait and Dan even had hair elastics at the ready (since I didn't think to bring one) so I could put my hair up for when he looked at my ears - it's those little details and attention to care that stand out and are so impressive!! I absolutely recommend Thrive :) Their care of their clients, honesty, professionalism, fun and expertise make them the standard - Beautiful people, Beautiful service, Beautiful studio

It was not a short process as it took awhile to get my appointment with Lindsay, but well worth the wait...and really if it's a short wait I would be worried...she is booked out so much because of how talented she is. Took in a bunch of reference pics to get my daughter's name tattooed on me and within minutes, Lindsay's expertise was able to narrow the style right down and in the end it turned out way better than I could have hoped!! Great artist, super clean shop and very pleasant staff all around to deal with. Thanks again to you all for the great experience....if I decide to get another tattoo down the road, I know where I'll be going!!

I took my 8-year old daughter to get her ears pierced at Thrive Studios after being told it was a great place to go. We saw Daniel, and he was absolutely wonderful with her - he played her favourite music and made little jokes here and there to help her feel comfortable. He was extremely clean and explained all the steps to her so she wasn’t left wondering what was happening, and he even ended it off with showing her proper hand washing procedures for when she has to clean her ears. He even threw in a magic trick when we were done, which she still says was amazing. Her ears weren’t even sore afterwards, and you wouldn’t even know she just got them done. Highly recommend him for your child’s ear piercing!

I got pierced by Daniel yesterday and am already looking for a reason to go back! By far the best piercing experience I've had. Daniel was meticulous with the placement and making sure that they were absolutely perfect, and did such a great job making sure I was comfortable and relaxed the whole time. Not only did I have a great experience in the studio, but the next day there was virtually no swelling or discomfort. Never going anywhere else!

I would recommend anyone looking for a new piercing, or even just new jewelry, to go visit Daniel at Thrive Studios. He was patient in letting me choose a couple new pieces of jewelry, holding up a few different options so I could see what they would look like before they were installed. The studio is super clean and sanitary, piercing tools and new jewelry was properly ran through an autoclave before proceeding. This studio has hit the mark on everything I was expecting. I would encourage anyone in the KW area to make the short drive, the results are worth it.

He told me what would look good, what would still look good years down the road, and he even drew my design in studio. Matt knew what he was talking about and he is insanely talented. Great staff, very clean, and great artists. I'm so in love with my new tattoo!! Thanks again Matt! Robert is one hell of an artist. the best shading and contrast I've seen in a tattoo hands down. well worth every hour and every dollar.

Everyone at Thrive is very helpful and courteous. It really does have a friendly and upscale environment. I was a little apprehensive about my tattoo and started having second thoughts. James was amazing and took the time to sit down with me a second time and go over every aspect of my tattoo and talk out all my concerns. He was very understanding and did not pressure me or make me feel silly for my questions. I am absolutely thrilled with my tattoo! James really puts his heart into his work and it shows in the quality and care he takes with every tattoo. Its only been a week and has healed amazingly and looks stunning. Rather than offering up a different artist (I've had work done by Danny who is friendly and easy going), he pretty much told me to draw it myself. When I told him I'll just go somewhere else, he didn't seem to care. This new guy (Matt) needs some work with his customer service. What a waste of my time today.

I have had all my tattoos done at Thrive. I love how welcoming and clean it is and everyone is so friendly. 9 years ago I had my first one done for my father that past away and yesterday I had the one done for my mother who also passed done by James, it hasn't even healed and I am planning my next one already. They are friendly there and love the way they make you feel comfortable. Definitely going back and I also introduced my sister in law to them who will be coming back with me.

Yesterday I got a tattoo done by James and I am in love with it! He was so friendly and did such an amazing job. It's a paw print from my (large, mind you) dog Quinn. She is a fuzzy thing and he captured the little fur marks between her toes and even the smallest cracks of the pads of her foot. It's better than I was hoping for. The lettering with her name under it is beautiful too. I've had tattoos in the past where the lines weren't straight and the artists were rude, so I did a lot of research with with one and I'm so happy I landed on Thrive. I will definitely be back for more work with James!

I had my tattoo done by Lindsay. The tattoo is amazing. My experience was not. This was in November 2015. I was there for a memorial tattoo for my friend who killed himself. I had a consultation and we agreed on what I wanted and she would sketch it beforehand. I wanted a phrase and then my friends signature underneath. When I showed up all she has done was my friends signature and was super annoyed when I said that's not what I wanted. Even though we had discussed in length ...and in person what I wanted. I had to sit there for 45 minutes while she re sketched my tattoo. She didn't apologize or acknowledge that she had made a mistake. I would not go back to her. Good tattoo but not a good experience. Also my tattoo started to fade after a few months but I of course did not think she would care and will be going somewhere else to get it touched up. See More

I had hummed and hawed over the piercing, having heard some rather disheartening stories about the healing process. Eventually, I decided to bite the bullet and try my "luck".Boy, am I glad I did! Jesse was BEYOND fantastic. He's an incredibly skilled piercer with an awesome bedside manner, his studio is clean, and his jewelry offerings are top of the line.It's been over a year since I got my piercing (April 2015, to be exact), and my ear healed up beautifully. I highly (HIGHLY) recommend Jesse. Well worth the trip, time, and money spent.

Now that Thrive has changed their artists, the studio has a new positive, committed staff. I have waited several years to find the right artist to bring my vision to life and I found that in Lindsay at Thrive. He is very knowledgeable and friendly and makes everyone feel relaxed and comfortable whether you're there for your very first piercing, or your 20th. Piercings are one of those things that you really get what you pay for. And although you may pay a little more at THRIVE, it's because they're using top of the line jewellery and equipment to make sure you get a safe piercing that heals up beautifully.His shop is clean and bright and he's happy to show you how all of his equipment is sterilized and stored. Jesse is also happy to have you come see him after your piercing is done if you have any questions or concerns about it.I highly recommend THRIVE to anyone and everyone considering a piercing; you will not be disappointed with your piercing, the service or the atmosphere. Jesse has done many piercings for me and every single one has been a positive experience. Both sleeves done by Bry and the line work is solid and the color/shading is impeccable 2 years on from the most recent one. I live outside Sudbury and it is definitely worth the 6+ hours drive to get there. Excellent work, professional staff and very friendly to boot.

This is how all tattoo studios should be. Ultra clean. The staff are super friendly and helpful. It repeatedly wins readers choice awards for the best tattoo place in the city. The tattoo artists are just that, artists. My wife and I have each had several tattoos done here. Her last was a full custom piece that Chris Anthon created for her.For me, This is the only place to go for a tattoo.
