Got a custom tattoo done by Kirsty. I went in with my ideas, discussed them with her and we booked an appointment for a few months later. She sent me examples about a week before my appointment and she had absolutely nailed it, she knew exactly what I wanted. She was great during the appointment, and my tattoo is incredible, and I’m even more excited now that it’s done. She even stayed late (on a Saturday, no less) to finish it, which I greatly appreciated. It was an absolute pleasure to deal with her!

I have been going to True Grit Tattoos for the past 4 years and I have never had a disappointing experience! The shop is always clean, the staff is not only incredibly talented but also friendly and understanding. This Monday, I got my fourth tattoo that Bryndon has done on me and as always, he nailed it. I'm constantly getting compliments about his line work and the detail he puts into every piece. I suppose you could say there is a reason I drive all the way from Toronto ...just to get tattooed:) 5 stars in my book and I will forever be recommending my fellow Toronto friends to make the trip! I gave a 3 and here’s why...2 tattoos done, which were supposed to be in exactly the same style and look cohesive. One was stencilled on first and is absolutely beautiful. I’d give it 5 stars, as it’s impeccably done. The other one ended up being hand drawn on on the day because the artist said it couldn’t be done by stencil because of placement (shoulder blade). It looked like an unfinished hot mess, with no correlation to the first one. I was appalled when I saw it at home ...and discussed with the artist straightaway. They offered additional designs to cover up the errors but ultimately it looked like an elaborate cover up getting further away from the original design. I’m about 75% through having it lasered off as I could not live with it and didn’t trust that they were capable of listening to what I really wanted. Lasering off a tattoo should probably be a negative star, the other one was 5 so a 3 overall I think is pretty generous! Bottom line, always insist on a stencil, unless they’re Chris Nunez don’t do it!! See More

I have been tattooed by the owner and principal artist: Lila Way, 4 times with the most recent being at her current location. Her artistry is unparalleled. Her prices are more than reasonable given the quality. Good tattoos aren't cheap. Cheap tattoos aren't good. Be prepared to book well in advance as she is very popular and for good reason.
Jess runs the front desk and is professional, polite and on top of things.
If you are willing to wait because you want the best, this is the place to go in the GTA. Lila has no fixed specialty in terms of style. She's a jack of all trades. Master too.

New to tattoos, but Greg made me feel right at home! Second tattoo ever and after having the first one messed up I decided to go to true grit. Amazing job took 30 minutes which would have been an hour and a half at the last parlor. Great work super happy and an amazing facility!

Amazing and friendly staff, extremely clean and welcoming studio, beautifully lit and decorated, each artist has their own private room which was a huge seller to me because of my previous anxiety. All the staff are amazing and make you feel welcome! Jess at the front desk is such a sweetheart and has such a great personality! It's the only tattoo shop I go to and I've had all 25 of my tattoos inked here! Definitely check it out!

Big wasr of time.
You can't walk in and get work done like theor website/store door advertises... So they're hours arent accurate.
They also have a front desk person saying what thet will and wont ...

They also have a front desk person saying what thet will and wont do - as opposed to having an actual artist look at it. But thats right...there is no one on staff even though you can "walk in"
They have no customer service skills whatsover. Their lack of professionalism would make me wonder what their health and safert would be like.
You have a business run it like one!

Kirsty McK is the best to collaborate with, she can listen to a few vague descriptions, ask some questions and then go back and forth with you until you arrive at the best design. She never promises stuff she can't do, will tell what she thinks is a bad idea and regularly offers design ideas that makes me think she can read my mind. I wouldn't go anywhere else and yet she is the first to tell you about other artists who are wicked good or encourage you to feel free to try another studio or artist if she feels like what you want is found elsewhere.

I've been looking for two years for an artist to tattoo a realism emperor scorpion on my right foot. After meeting my boyfriend, he recommended I try booking a consult with Lila at the place he gets all of his ink done; True Grit Tattoos in Burlington. I agreed to go and after booking a consult, went in to meet Lila. She was super easy to talk to and share my idea with, not just for the consult, but throughout my tattooing session too! My tattoo turned out amazingly detailed ...and well placed, with all of the little details I hoped for as well. Pricing for this tattoo was awesome compared to what I thought it would be and they thoroughly went over the aftercare as well. All of the staff there were friendly and welcoming towards me. Overall, they made my experience of getting the tattoo at their shop amazing. Would recommend Lila 10/10 to anyone looking for an artist with crazy talent! :) See More

Absolutely amazing quality. Great people. Comfortable atmosphere. Greg is my savior. I came to him with a fuck up from another shop. He fixed it with out hesitation. Got a custom tattoo done by Kirsty. I went in with my ideas, discussed them with her and we booked an appointment for a few months later. She sent me examples about a week before my appointment and she had absolutely nailed it, she knew exactly what I wanted. She was great during the appointment, and my tattoo is incredible, and I’m even more excited now that it’s done. All the staff are amazing and make you feel welcome! Jess at the front desk is such a sweetheart and has such a great personality!
