I was grateful to get in to see Steve right before I left Halifax in June. I had contacted a different shop at the beginning of my trip and the guy took my deposit and didn't get back to me when I tried to move my appointment. In the end, I was really glad that I ended up at Brass Anchor because the atmosphere was soo much better, really relaxed and very clean. I initially went in just to look and ask a few questions. I viewed the artists portfolios and booker my appointment for the next day. Steve Morgan did my tattoo and he did a fantastic job. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE I booked a consultation with Greg for this afternoon, walk all the way there from Oxford Street, b/c parking d/t sucks. I get there, no Greg, the other guy had no idea what I wanted or was talking about. Says Greg had to "leave" due to his kid. Might be a great idea to call your customers you book time with when you need to reschedule. You just lost over $500.00, or whatever a half sleeve costs. Read Less

Steve has done most of my tattoos and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Awesome shop. The guys are all super chill and extremely talented. The shop is very clean. They've got a big screen to watch movies. Steve is literally a human printer. I have around 25 tattoos from several different artist and Steve is hands down the best tattoo artist I've ever been to. Shop is very clean, the guys are very welcoming , they having a big screen TV to watch while getting tattooed as well. I'd recommend this shop to anyone looking to get tattooed. Good prices as well. I first contacted Steve on a recommendation from one of my clients...my father in law passed away in November from cancer and I wanted to surprise my husband with a replica of his dad's tattoo. Steve took this on without question. He played along with my surprise plan and made the most beautiful tattoo to memorialize my father in law. Went in for a tattoo that I have been planning for a while now.  Checked the Coast reviews and located Becky for water colour.  Took a chance and went in with my concept.  Not only did she complete my idea but surpassed it and turned my tattoo into a serious masterpiece!  Total art!  I love love love it!  She rocks!Furthermore, the studio itself is comfortable, inviting and has whimsical art pieces throughout with eclectic music and a serious positive vibe!  I highly recommend and endorse!  Two thumbs up and a third if I had another! I love my tattoo. The artist drew up exactly what I wanted, but when it came time to finally get it done, he told me that my skin as really tough, and had to use the gun on a higher setting. what I didn't know was that my tattoo would end up the complete opposite of what I wanted. My tattoo was supposed to be soft, feminine... Instead, it's thick and dark. Not to mention, my skins totally overworked, and I have scarring. The tattoo is also lumpy.  I am NOT happy at all. You'd be hard up to find a good piercer in Halifax if it wasn't for Nicole. After working as a piercer in the past myself, she is the only one I trust currently working in the area. She has Blood borne Pathogens training and offers a wide variety of piercings at very reasonable prices. Cleanliness, precision, and great bedside manner. She also has access to some really high quality and gorgeous jewelry she can order in for you as well, I'm currently ordering some pretty opal labrets for the Philtrum (Medusa) piercing she did for me. I might also add she pierced me freehand and it's just PERFECT! I recommend Nicole to all my friends. Brass Anchor does excellent custom work - I've never used any of their flash, but I've flipped through their books in while waiting and it's excellent. Both Greg and Steve are wonderful artists. Most of my tattoos were by Steve, who is a calm and funny individual. Nicole Wilcox is the piercer at Brass Anchor, and I have followed her business from before she worked there - she's that good. 9 perfect piercings, 4 beautiful tattoos and I couldn't be happier.
