Took our 7year old here to get her ears pierced. They were very professional and really great with her. I wasn’t certain we were going to get the second one done but he was able to gently convince her. I would happily take another child here. Put a down-deposit for a tattoo at Adept to have my my tattoo artist cancel on me two times, roughly an hour before each appointment. Had planned on getting a wolf tattoo as a cover up, but when I went in to see his drawing, he had made an exact copy of the tattoo he did on my friend who recommended me to adept. Not much of a problem, just asked for something new. After the cancellations I went to someone else who did a phenomenal job. I do not want another tattoo, so I asked if I could transfer it and get a piercing instead. To which I was told no, even though it's a credit, it has to be used only for a tattoo. Extremely disappointing, very unprofessional. Basically they have my money, and because I don't want a tattoo, one in which I put a deposit down for and was excited to have it done, but because of the unprofessionalism I never rescheduled after the second cancellation. Even though I'm unable to transfer it for another service there, I am allowed to transfer it to someone else, however I wouldn't allow a friend or family member to waste their time. This review is for their Bedford location. PLEASE steer clear of Travis, their "new guy." This story happened in the summer of 2017. I've been so angry about it that it's taken me 8 months to calm down enough to be able to write this review coherently.When I booked my appt., I sent him a photo of what I wanted done. He said it would be no problem. When I went in a few weeks later for my appt., he had a stencil drew out and said he "lost" my picture and "googled it" to try to find it again, then "drew" the rest of it from memory. I have had many other tattoos done before so I figured I'd give him the benefit of the doubt and continue with my session. Plus I know stencils kinda look weird at first but they turn out okay with application and shading. In hindsight, I should have rebooked my appt and left. I also should have picked up on what he was telling me about while he was there doing the tattoo. He had three different stories about three previous clients who had to come back to get things fixed that he messed up, forgot to do, didn't do as requested, etc. I spent $300+ for a literal piece of shit. Not only did it look NOTHING like what I asked for, but it looked like something a 3-year old had drawn. When I complained to the manager, she sat the three of us down to talk about how to fix it. Travis argued with us over why his work wasn't complete crap and made excuses for what he did admit he messed up on. He changed his story as to why he didn't give me the picture I asked for, by saying I "didn't have permission from the original artist to use the picture." This isn't even relevant, as it's widely known and accepted that if a piece of art is on the internet, it's free to use. I walked out telling the manager I refused to let Travis touch my tattoo and mess it up any further, but that I wanted it fixed. I was made to pay another $150 ontop of what I already spent to fix only part of my tattoo. They had another, much more talented artist at their Quinpool location fix what he could in 1 hour, which was all he had time for that day. He did a good job for the small amount of time that he had. I was invited to come back for another session (at another $150 out of pocket) but my experience with tattoos from Adept has honestly soured me from ever wanting to go back. Horrible tattoo done, extremely overpriced, very unimpressed. Have had many people ask if I had done a stick in poke myself when I in fact payed 120$ for this awful tattoo. If you like unsolicited advice and being talked down to. Go to this place. I stopped by to buy a replacement ball for a piercing. The piercer working at the time went out of his way to tell me I had the wrong gague without asking any questions as to why I had switched to that size in the first place. I felt talked down to and insulted. I understand there is a risk/reward in this, but I didn't come for expert advise, I just wanted a thing. Then they sold me the wrong piece. Best Tattoo and Piercing Place EVER. I have gone to Adept since the first ink hit my body and I can honestly say I will never go anywheres else. I grew up in Halifax but live in Manitoba and its only when I go home to Halifax I get tattooed. The artists an amazing bunch. They are attentive to detail, kind and caring. Went to the Halifax location for a piercing and was not impressed. Bedford location is definitely my preference for customer service and talent as I've had my tattos fone there in tbe last however the piercer was away om vacation so I ventured over to hfx. When we arrived the piercer had called in sick and this was not posted on the fb page so we were unaware and had driven from the valley. The women at the counter was great she took my number and she messaged him to see ...if he was planning on coming in later or taking the whole day off (states this happens at time he'll work a half day). She gave me a call to come back as he came into work... Which was beyond tbe service I was expecting, however... The artist had no customer service. He didn't offer for me inspect the location of piercing prior to starting, I had to probe a lot to get info on after care and when the balls can be changed etc. At the end I expected to be handed an after care instruction sheet and I wasn't. I asked for one and he went looking but said they were out.. I asked if it was posted on their website and he was unsure and there was no offer to sending me a copy through email. I went with a friend who had her tonge done and even she wasn't asked to check placement or even for myself to look. Also not a fan that no clamps were used during the piercing. The were clean I noticed everything being open from a sterile package that would be the only plus. horrible place to get a tattoo. tried contacting the owner to get a appointment she never replied to my email. I did a walk in appointment, girl at the front desk was rude and unprofessional. I had a tattoo done and the guy seemed to rush through it. Its now uneven in shape, uneven in lines and the lines are not straight they are wavy. down deposit of 100$ for any tattoo is disgusting my tattoo should have costed way less for the horrible work the guy did. don't go here you will regret it. I have several tattoos from when I lived in another province and have never had a complaint. Had a couple of tattoos done by done by their former "artist" Charlotte. She did one in basic black lettering. It is quite spotty and terrible. When I contacted the manager about a touch up was told that they only do it within the first three months and its been about five or six. I hadn't done so because I was hesitant to go back to someone who did a bad job. I'm not impressed as they are quite expensive and clearly they do not stand by their work. Not knocking all of their artists but they should guarantee that a bad artist's work is rectified and fix bad work!!!! Read Less

Currently, I'm in the process of getting a half sleeve done by Amber (one more sitting and its done!!). There are really no words to describe how amazing all of the artists are here. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants badass new ink. A tattoo becomes something you wear for the rest of your life. Never cheap out on something so important by going to the lesser shops out there. It's more than worth the investment to have a talented pair of hands operating a properly sterilized tattoo machine. This place 100% kicks ass. We stopped by this evening to get a piercing done. Not realizing business hours. I thought they closed at 8. They were closing as we approached at 7pm and welcomed us anyway. They were very friendly, helpful and did both of our piercings on the spot. Amazing customer service. I got my upper navel pierced a couple days ago at the Bedford location, and I would definitely recommend Andrew to anybody who's looking to get anything done. He was very relaxed and reassuring, and he seemed like he really knew what he was doing. I have a tendency to get light headed very easily, and he was very good about the whole thing thankfully. Got quoted $140 and charged almost $300 for my tattoo. The artist, Rob, hit on me the entire time I was getting my tattoo done which made me incredibly uncomfortable (I am 19 and he is at least twice my age). I went to the Bedford shop on really short notice (like 15 minutes to closing) to get my left nostril pierced and they took me. Super friendly service! I felt very comfortable, had some laughs, and the shop is well done and super clean. I have both sides of my nose done and the piercer measured where the stud should go and made sure it was even. My first tattoo [Companion Cube art for Portal] with Lisa (back when she was on quinpol) was a single hour sitting where she quickly drafted my design and made alterations. Lisa is the best, she is super friendly, personable and professional. Her artwork is great and each and every experience with her has been fantastic. After my piece was done Lisa directed me to look it over and because we had time left made a few changes and alterations. I had once snow cancellation but they were able to get me in a few weeks later at a similar time and called with 24 hour notice to let me know and rebooked right on the phone.I also got to see Lisa again for their annual animal charity tattoo session. Again great experience, the place was packed and things were a bit rushed but even with lines out the door everyone was friendly and helpful. I was able to ask questions and choose colour design and process a variety of payments. [Hand Shadow Raven]Finally and sadly at the Bedford location (Only sad because that damn 80 bus!!) is where Lisa resides now. So I made the hour bus ride out to bedford for the first part of my leg sleeve [Mrs. Marvel Comic panel]. This one was pretty much a straight copy of a comic panel with a large chunk of black. The consult was quick and I brought her the reference issue, we made a few changes for asethic and ink allowance ( Larger speech bubble, more vibrant greens in the bottom panel etc.) I paid my deposit and booked a 3 hour session to do the whole thing start to finish. On the date it wound up being closer to 4 hours, but the whole process was great. Other artist came over to laugh (good naturedly ) at the giant block amount of black. Lisa was a total doll throughout the process and tolerated while I played an obnoxious psvita game on and off. We had a blast, the ink was great and we snapped a few photos. Everyone was surprised with how well the black coverage was and how well it stayed. I called one or twice to ask about aftercare clarifications as this was my largest piece and the staff was more than happy to help. Lisa also responded to my e-mails/messages promptly for all my questions.Lisa also booked me in for a free touch up a month later in case anything faded or was missed. She touched up both my sleeve and my other two previous tattoos for free and they are all still looking great!I had another consult shortly after for the 2nd leg sleeve panel (Thor/Jane). Again Lisa was super friendly and excited to talk with me about the comic and the different panels I had for reference. This one is the first one that I didn't have an exact idea on what I wanted, so we looked thru the different images I brought and discussed what we liked about each. We wound up settling on a mixture of the panel where she gets the Power of Thor & combining another panel of badassery with brilliant colours with the panel where she first holds Mjölnir. We also opted to book a 4-5 hour session for this one to allow for breaks and since the last one ran long.Since then I have had to cancel a few appointments for my leg piece due to finacial reasons. But both the Artists and Front Desk folks were very understanding and able to move my appointment for me and I have kept my deposit. I was also contacted in between (as I pushed by appointment back by 4 months) when Lisa had a large enough cancellation slot on days they new I was available. Which I super appreciated!I am super excited to head out to bedford tomorrow to finally get my next tattoo with Lisa. I am hoping to be able to continue going back for her for both this Marvel Sleeve, my DC sleeve and all my future tattoos.Equipment is all clean and sterile, their ink is Vegan, and I have always had pleasant experiences with Jillian and other front of house folks. My lifestyle doesn't allow me to plan too far in advance so getting into tattoo shops can be quite difficult for me. However, the shop was very accommodating and understood my predicament. I got booked with Cassie and let me just tell you it was the best tattooing experience of my life. I have 16 tattoos prior to this new one so I'm not new to the shop scene. I'm used to being told I'll get a call back and never hearing from the shop again. Cassie was outstanding and has an excellent eye for detail. Not only did she tattoo my shoulder but she actually talked to me the entire time and was down to earth. We talked about everything under the sun and I actually felt very comfortable there. Cassie wasn't the only nice staff member though, they were all chill and laid back. They all spoke as if they were at home with their friends. I loved the environment, staff, and overall quality of the work. Cannot comment on the piercings but I would bet that it is exceptional as well.  I will continue to shop here as the prices are excellent, and look forward to working with Cassie again. Read Less

I made an appointment 4 months in advance after a consultation with my chose artist. On my way to my appointment after waiting 4 MONTHS they called me 45 minutes prior to the appointment while I was on my way and canceled due to "artist illness". I attempted to reschedule and they were not accommodating at all. They offered for another artist whom I had not met to tattoo me. The artist I originally booked with was who I wanted to do my tattoo which is why I waited so long. I was extremely disappointment with their customer service.
