Got my belly pierced and noticed that the skin around the belly ring was too tight; the ring was too small. They initially said that they would change the ring, free of charge, if anything happened.I went back twice to get the ring changed to a larger size but both times they told me to not to worry. A month later, my belly was pushing my belly ring out and it got to the point where I had to remove my piercing. My belly ring was too tight and so my body decided it was an intruder. This situation could've been completely prevented had they honoured their initial promise and not have turned me away twice. I know I'll definitely honour my promise of not coming back here again. I never thought I'd be writing a review for a tattoo parlor, but I'm glad my first foray into the tattoo world was at Adrenaline. They helped my younger sibling design a text-based tattoo and were polite and accommodating even as we had to shift between sizes and fonts to find something that wouldn't bleed over time. They took care to explain considerations to avoid things like bleeding and messing up the tattoo. The tattoo area itself was clean and organized, and the artist was friendly and helped keep my sibling calm throughout the experience. Though the tattoo isn't totally perfect -- the slants on the letters closest to my sibling's inner elbow are all a bit off -- it adds a sort of unique quality to it. Oh, and my sibling loves it, so that's all that matters! The price was about what I expected to pay ($140 CAD when all was said and done, plus tip), and the overall experience was good. I am sad I forgot the piercers name but he provided a safe space and a positive experience for me and my friend that came with me for her own piercing. I love coming here for piercings because all the staffs are super kind, helpful and professional. This is my fourth time getting pierced here and Meghan did my other 3 piercings! Came in to see Jerimiah (unsure how to spell??) with a friend on Thursday the 25th of April. We made our appointment the day before and were responded to quickly over email. We came in a little nervous as we both had not been tattooed in over two years. We each got a small script in a silly spot and he was respectful and thorough during the service. I've gotten all my piercings and tattoos from Adrenaline and they are probably the best in the city! Everyone i've gotten a piercing or tattoo from is super nice (especially Mike the piercer) and super thorough with aftercare. However, the people working at the front is a hit or miss. If you're lucky you'll get someone super nice and patient with your jewelry choices, but if you're not then you'll probably get a staff member walk away from you mid sentence if they aren't interested in what you're saying. lol. I dropped by with two friends for Adrenaline's Easter egg hunt event on Easter Sunday, and scored 50% off a piercing. I wear huge glasses, and my piercer Mike took extra care when positioning the piercing to ensure the industrial bar wouldn't hit the temple of my glasses. So far, I haven't had any issues with this piercing. Overall, the employees at Adrenaline were chill, helpful, welcoming, and contributed to a positive atmosphere. My best friend and I were in town for a concert and out hotel was right down the street from this shop.  We did some searching online for something nearby and this place had great reviews across the board.We wanted just basic flash work.  Outline only.  Some artists roll their eyes when they find that out.  Some appreciate the fact that they'll make decent money for a quick job and make their customer's smile.Tony definitely didn't roll his eyes or make us feel stupid for what we wanted.  However, the girl working the counter when we walked in to book it was super rude.  She had no interest in us or in making us feel welcome.  I almost didn't book it because of her disinterest, but decided to move forward.When we came back for our appointments, Tony took us upstairs to get to work.  He was incredibly thorough in cleaning down his station between our tattoos.  He made great conversation with us.  He worked quickly and efficiently and not once seemed annoyed with us for what we wanted.I would definitely recommend this shop, and Tony.  If I find myself back in Vancouver, I might head in for something a little bigger. I was in Vancity for the day with my boyfriend, we thought we'd see if there was a tattoo shop open for walk-ins. The guys at Next were full, though mentioned Granville Tattoo shop was awesome, & Adrenaline as a back up. We went to Adrenaline first as it was close by. The blonde chick at the back of who was booking appointments was not only rude but extremely ignorant & disrespectful. As if I knew nothing about getting tattooed. (My bf & I have had many tattoos.) It's as though she didn't care about customers at all. I felt embarrassed to even be there, & didn't even want that energy in a tattoo. This place doesn't even deserve one star for their customer service. It deserves a zero! I booked over the phone for a friend and I and was not told of any nonrefundable fee. Unfortunately a family emergency happened that same night of booking and I had emailed right away. Adrenaline responded the next morning and told me it is nonrefundable despite the circumstances. I had mentioned getting our tattoo is on hold indefinitely due to the situation and they were not accommodating at all. They even told me that even though the time stamp was last night because they saw the email today and the appointment was today, it is nonrefundable. Next time you should really inform your clients of the refund policy over the phone or be a little more accommodating and understanding of the situation. We forfeited the deposit as the experience to even having one there is now ruined by their shitty customer service. I would not recommend this place. Came here on a weekday night to get navel piercing. The people here are really nice and keep all explanations simple. I actually went to Adrenaline after visiting another place that told me that there's a risk of migration/rejection due to the shape of my belly button. I went to adrenaline looking to get a second opinion and they said that migration or rejection is due to the piercing itself more so than the person's anatomy. I thought that was interesting and found both places to have a reasonable backing to their explanation (but then again, I don't know that much to begin with). Overall, the experience at Adrenaline was pleasant and there was minimal pain. I give this place a 4 as I think they can be more thorough with explaining their equipment prep procedure and the aftercare for piercing. Really like this shop! Good and friendly and funny tattoo artists and quite a few of them. Gets quite busy so reservations are good but sometimes we can do walk-ins too. Customized especially detailed and complicated ones requires you to go in person before making a reservation. However, if it's a small or pretty simple one and they are really busy they can't do it that day if you are willing to wait a bit. Pretty reasonable prices and they sale some items like cool and cute pins, clothing, backpacks, and other accessories including piercings. They do pretty well on piercings too, other than tattooing. Would highly recommend this place and I think I'll be going back sometime again but for the piecing since my friend highly recommend after doing hers there a couple times. Bus stops and skytrain stations at almond distance and parking lots too if you drive. Quite a few stores and restaurants around so you can pop in or eat while you wait for your appointment. Adrenaline used to be my go to for many years and years. I’ve given them so much business and they literally treated me like I’m worthless to their business and that’s not how you treat loyal customers. I’ve had at least 25-30 piercings done here in my lifetime and have always talked so highly of them. However, I decided to get a tattoo after researching artists and I had such an awful experience that I would never go back. I’ve had 2 separate employees tell me they are the managers and I found out in fact that these people are NOT the managers. What sort of business let’s their staff tell everyone they are a manager and deal with problems themselves when there is no guidelines on how to handle complaints. I spoke to 2 “managers” separately who told me 2 completely different things and wasted my time coming in to speak to them directly and the issue hasn’t been resolved instead of directly the problem with the real management team. The staff don’t care about issues when their tattoo artist says one thing and you say something else. They automatically treat you like you aren’t important and no matter what the tattoo artists says is true and you are wrong. Long story short, they ripped me off and kept the money I paid them after saying I was getting it back by a “manager” and shortly after someone else called me saying “yeah we are keeping it”. Finally got my ears pierced after waiting so long. Never had the opportunity to and my uncle bet me that I wouldn't get it done because I used to be terrified of needles. So to prove him wrong, I went by myself to get them done. I was able to choose the studs I wanted so I got these silver mini diamond studs. I was surprised they didn't use the needles like in other tattoo shops, or maybe that's for more extreme piercings. I wasn't really a piercing gun but it functioned like it. The earring was already pre attached to the machine and was sterile.Michael was my piercer and he was very nice and gentle. He first put dots to where he will pierce and let me look in the mirror. I expressed my slight nervousness but he was reassuring and it was a quick and painless process. My total came to $52 with both ears ($25 each ear) and I got the free spray from the Yelp check in. A really smooth and easy process and everyone in the store was friendly. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a piercing! Read Less

Unprofessional tattoo shop, more of a retail store than a tattoo shop, clearly as it can be seen!If you're looking to be treated as a tattoo client from an actual tattoo artist I wouldn't recommend going to the store,(again store not tattoo shop) but if you would like a generic heart, this is a great first tattoo shop that you could go to, because most likely you'll never go back again!Customer service is absolutely horrible & not accommodating at all! I just walked in to check out the shop because the display window caught my eye. I had no idea it was a piercing/tattoo parlour. I was immediately greeted by two girls at the piercing desk who politely asked if I was looking to get any work done, I said no thanks and kept looking until I came across the tattoo desk. I though, seeing as I’m here I may as well ask about a tattoo as I had been thinking of getting another one for a while. The staff members again were very polite and professional and got me talking to an artist immediately about what sort of design/layout I was looking for and when they could do it for me. I was so impressed by the outstanding service they displayed I put down a deposit and booked an appointment the next day with their guest artist. I came back the next day and the same great customer service was still there and now I have an awesome tattoo as well. This place is clean, well merchandised, has great staff members, a cool range of clothes, and makes you feel like you’re in good hands from the get go. Don't agree to do walk-ins if your going to have an attitude about my tattoos and tell me you can't do it after I waited 4 hours to come back to see you. receptionist was talking about me to the other employees like I wasn't right there. Only good person here is the piercer with the 3 dermals under his eye, he told me to think about it after hearing how rude the ginger artist was to me and did not push me to get my tattoos done here. Requested a consultation for a small tattoo, they told me my design was so basic I didn't need one and booked my appointment to get the tattoo without. When I met the tattooist he refused to collaborate or play with my idea, told me what I was asking for was impossible and to go find someone else to do it. Literally walked into the place next door and got an immediate consultation with the tattooist even tho she was in the middle of a piece. She said it sounded easy and to book myself an hour anytime. The piercing guy is awesome but the front of store sales staff are a bit useless. I went in and asked about piercing my upper ear and they recommended an earring that frickin caught on everything. At first I was hesitant to get my piercings from a tattoo shop due to the fact that i would seem out of place, but I am glad I gathered up my courage and went with a friend who also wanted to get piercings! When I walked in, the atmosphere wasn't so bad; it was quite aesthetic pleasing actually. There was quite a few girls who lined up to get piercings before me. The guy who let me choose the earrings was pretty friendly. I waited around 15-20 mins for my turn and my piercer Mike was super chill. My friend and I gave him $15 tips total. I expected some sort of aftercare instructions from him even though I already had piercings but still!!! My friend got her lobes repierced and probably forgot what to do. Bad experiences. Every time I wanted to speak to a piercer about aftercare, the front staff gave me different instructions every time. Even the piercers recommend a home made saline solution and a spray for your nose, neither of which can be sterile. It was the summer of love...Travelled through the mountains and oceans of the west coast, kayaked on the shimmering lakes on the island, drank coffee with the humming birds by the sea, got our nipples pierced to celebrate my 43rd birthday...Wait. The place is clean and inviting. No snobby looks from the staff because we were 'older' or didn't 'look the type'. We were able to get in very quickly which made it easy not to change our minds.Our piercing was done by Mike. Very friendly guy. He made things easy and comfortable. We all talked like we were good friends who hadn't seen each other in a while. Easy to say when two out of three people in the room have a boob hanging out, right? With Mike, yes. He took his time and made sure positioning was perfect. I was able to stay with the bf to watch and support him through his first piercing experience. In a pinch (literally), it was over.The price was reasonable for the labor and jewelry. Coming back home, we found the price to be much higher here. I visited the Downtown location during the 2 for 1 piercing sale. Despite the crowd in the store, I was quickly approached by an employee. I excepted a lineup, but I didn't need to wait at all! The store had a large selection of piercing jewellery and the piercers are very professional. In total, I had my ear lobes pierced for 40 dollars (2 for 1 sale), and I was very satisfied. Although the layout of the store could use an update to accommodate crowds, fixtures are very close together and overall it seemed very cluttered upon walking in, I don't mind it personally, but for some visitors it might leave a poor impression. I had a great first tattoo experience here. We're from out of town, San Francisco Bay Area, but wanted to get tattoos on our trip in Vancouver.I decided I wanted to get a script tattoo and instantly loved Bryan Heimowski's lettering.He charges by the piece rather than the hour which I appreciate. I came in for my consultation thinking I'd need to come back for the tattoo. But he ended up having time that day so he sketched out a couple options, I came back an hour later to review and get the tattoo done. Smooth and quick process!My tattoo (script lettering of the words "City Girl") covered the inside of my left forearm and took about 2-2.5 hours. #1 place for piercings in Vancouver for a reason.Came a few days ago to check out the jewelry for potential piercings and all the staff were super friendly, none of that snobby attitude. Mike (@piercings_bymike) even came out to give me his advice regarding a double tragus for myself and nose piercing for bf.Got the piercings done today and it all went well and fast! Mike is a great piercer: easy going, open to jewelry placement, skillful, seems like he loves his job. Highly recommend him as a piercer and it's not a surprise why everyone speaks so highly of him.Tragus piercing with Neometal flat back with a gem (choice of 2, 3 or 4mm) is $90+tax, while jewelry on its own is $55+tax. I bought two pieces of jewelry from this location (one conch ring and one tragus ring). These two pieces totaled $100 Canadian dollar ($80 US). No more than 4 days later, the tragus ring broke. For the price it was way too soon for it to fall apart. I called and explained the situation and I also explained that I was from San Francisco. I was told that there is nothing that can be done to compensate me for Adrenaline's poor quality jewelry. No refund, no store credit, no replacement. Then I was told "but when you're back in town, feel free to come by and tell someone here about what happened." I replied "I might not be back in Canada for years. I love in a different country." To which he replied "sorry there's nothing I can do."I'm so disappointed. Michael pierced my daith, he was super sweet and made the process very comfortable. He was very informative and honest. The piercing didn't even hurt. It was a quick pinch and he explained the whole process as he was going. I also got a tattoo from Kass. She was so nice! This was my first tattoo she made the process very easy. Arranged to get a tattoo while in town to go on Alaska cruise. Store is very nice with great variety of merchandise. Everyone very friendly. Unfortunately, tattoo is only OK. Structure is good but Austin was clearly rushed and shading is not up to my expectations. Admittedly I did make a change to the design when I arrived but was assured it was no problem. Clearly the time required to create a new stencil cut into time for execution. The cost was much less than I expected and I'm sure they would fix it up if I were able to go back. But since I don't get to Vancouver very often that's impractical. I think I can get a local artist to touch up the shading so it's not a catastrophe. In summary, I would recommend the shop, but be sure you don't get rushed to completion. Read Less

Went here for walk in piercings with a friend. Our artist, Adam, was fantastic. Walked us through the whole process and was very friendly and calm the whole time. Totally forgot I was getting a needle through the face until I felt it pinch. Very easy to see why they've won awards, would recommend to anyone. This shop has such amazing tattoo artists. I have a few pieces done by Brown (who now guest spots due to no longer being here *sad*), but I have friends who have pieces from other artists which are beautiful as well.When I first ever sent a e-mail with the idea of what I wanted, whoever responds to those e-mails were able to suggest the perfect artist for what I had in mind. The front desk staff are always so welcoming and friendly :) Also the items to purchase are nice... I had my tattoo done yesterday, the work was amazing but the customer service was shit. My appointment was scheduled for 330 weeks in advance, and I walk in there at 315 and was told it was going to be another hour. I went out and got food, came back and told it was going to be another half an hour, so we go back out, come back and told another 5 minutes, so we just take a seat at the desk. After 15 minutes of waiting i have to go and ask how long it was going to be again, and then they finally took us in. The tattoo didn't start until 515, which was just before i was supposed to be finished that day. After William was done, we never discussed any aftercare routines, he just handed me a card and sent me away. Beautiful work, but I wouldn't go back for another one there. Read Less

I am so glad I got messed around at Gastown Tattoo Parlour, (waiting over a month for a consultation and then when it finally happened the tattoo artist said she wasn't able to do the work I wanted. Even though I sent through all the pictures and descriptions to which she apparently doesn't remember agreeing to even after her colleague pulled up the email correspondence) Anyway, I'm glad they were useless, because I ended up coming to Adrenaline. So far I've had around 18 hours of work done with a whole lot more still to come. First little piece I had was my daughters name on my forearm, Bryan did an amazing job with that tattoo, even my mother, who is not a fan of tattoos thought it 'looked lovely' her words not mine. Not only that, but Bryan is a genuine chap and really takes pride in his work. My second piece requires quite a few sessions, and for this I've been sitting with William. His ability to put what I had in my head and my mismatch of pictures into a magnificent piece of artwork was outstanding. His attention to detail and his ability to blend everything together is phenomenal. The rest of the staff and artists that I'd met were all super friendly and great people. Went here today for my second time getting my nose pierced and ended up getting double hoops. My piercer was Michael, he was super duper calm and talked me the whole way through and helped me to say calm as well. The environment was really clean and sterile, everyone there was really professional and nice. I got 7 hours of tattooing done here for a piece that was estimated at 3 hours, and I'm still estimated another two hours :( huge amount of miscalculation on their part. Other than that I've always been happy with the customer service and my tattoo looks good! But going three times over the estimated time is a little shady :( Read Less

Last week I decided to just walk in and ask about the possibilities to get a tattoo done in the time-span of a week, I'd be in Vancouver. And I am glad I did. The staff was really friendly and even though it was difficult to get a spot last-minute, they found one and booked me in with Danny. I am really happy with the end result and with how I was being treated in the tattoo-shop. Even though it's a big shop, with lots of customers going in and out, it'll get more personal as soon as you enter the tattoo studio upstairs. This review is about two nights ago when I came in just to browse since I do love all the merchandise/clothing and such. When I walked in I was immediately asked if I needed help but not in the best way, the person who greeted me was a tan guy with dark hair (didn't get his name) he continued to stare me down with a dirty look completely stereotyping me as if I was going to "shoplift!" (Maybe cause I look very young?) I ignored his rudeness and continued to look around, I then decided to look at the jewelry display, at the time there where also two guys behind the register counter and I then asked for their assistance since the rude guy was probably chatting with his co worker at the front of the store. The guys behind the counter said it was cool to open the display and look through it, they where rather friendly so I didn't think anything of it and I was respectful not to mess up their pretty display while I looked at rings. I then had the first guy (rude greeter) rush me and asked if I needed any help but with total annoyance and suspicion in his mannerism, again I then ignored his attitude and told him the other guys said it was ok for me to look around, he still looked annoyed and at this point I was getting pissed but I wanted to purchase a necklace and felt because the other guys where sweet I wasn't gonna him ruin my night or shopping experience. I checked out and brought up the guy's attitude to the super sweet guy behind the cashier, he then explained it's because they are located in Granville and that's why he acted that way. First off that's no excuse to make customers feel guilty/uncomfortable before even knowing what kind of person I am or let alone give you a reason to be suspicious. I suggest they stop stereotyping customers, if they're so worried about shoplifters maybe they shouldn't be located in such a "sketchy area" or open late at night or actually be a good judge of character before making people feel harassed! My husband and I are staying near by since we're in town for a movie production, I still have a gift card I need to use before leaving Van but I'm hesitant to even go back. Read Less

I drove from Maple Ridge to get my daith bridge and helix pierced. The staff were great and if only I wasn't so nervous I would have maybe remembered my piercer's name? He was awesome. He pierced my daith bridge first and then my helix and it took no time at all. He was very relaxed and professional. Came here to buy ear plugs on January 6th, the store has an incredible selection, but I unfortunately didn't have enough for what I wanted. When I went to the back of the shop I was greeted by an employee, usually I'd tell them that I'm just browsing today, but the store was so great that I felt bad for leaving without buying anything. F--- it, I thought, might as well get a septum piercing right now since I've always wanted one. The piercer introduced himself as Cory and a...ll my questions were answered patiently. I was told that I've got a crooked septum, and that if the result comes out unsatisfactory I would not be charged, which is great! The entire process took less than 5 minutes from the moment I entered the room to the moment I walked out. The piercing turned out perfect, I would compare the pain to something like accidentally hitting your funny bone on a hard surface, kind of sore but over in an instant.
