Quick summary if you don't want to read the whole thing - Amazing experience, wonderful people, absolutely love my new tattoo.I was going to be in town for less than a week, but I knew the kind of tattoo I wanted. I emailed a bunch of places a few months ahead, and "Steveston Tattoo" and "Logan Howard" came up a couple of times. Steveston was farther than I had planned on going, but I sent an email anyways. Billie Jean was very professional, and so easy to deal with. She answered all of my millions of questions, and was always willing to work around my issues and requests. She made me very comfortable with the fact that I could trust these people, sight unseen, and get exactly what I wanted.Logan Howard was equally awesome. We chatted about my concept, and I know I had some design elements that aren't found in indigenous tattoo designs. After our chat, he said he'd design something that would work for us both. When I saw the result, I was happy that he didn't just do what I asked, he made some design changes that he felt enhanced the work, which I loved. I even asked for the design work, which I will frame and hang in my office.As for the actual process, I can say that Logan has a kind and gentle hand. I was in the chair for about 6 hours (off and on), and it never got unbearable. He moved around enough so that it did not cause any significant pain during the work. I like how he let me stare off at the ceiling or the artwork when I felt like it, and how he engaged in conversation when I felt like it (he has a wonderful story to share). I'm sure he wouldn't have been bothered if I had watched Netflix (on their free WiFi) during the process.I'm so glad my journey took me to Steveston, and would do it all over again for my next one.

Really enjoy getting a tattoo here! Absolutely great service and the staffs are super friendly. They even grabbed lunch for me which is really sweet. I got my tattoo from James who was really gentle and confident in his work. Got the whole thing done within 5 hours! Would totally come back again! Book James if you are interested in a Japanese-style tattoo!

I really wanted to try this shop. I had a small tattoo I wanted covered up (it was writing). I walked in, spoke with Miles and he said it was do-able and to send him photos of the tattoo. I emailed...
I really wanted to try this shop. I had a small tattoo I wanted covered up (it was writing). I walked in, spoke with Miles and he said it was do-able and to send him photos of the tattoo. I emailed them and did just that. Billie-Jean wrote me back and said that Miles would need me to have several laser removal sessions first. Obviously, a cover-up would be easier to do if it was lasered off first, but a cover up is just that...After some back and forth, they would not budge and so I told them to forget it. I just went to a great shop in Vegas and they did it in a heartbeat...and did an amazing job. Great tattoo and you can't see the old one at all. The guy I saw really knew how to do cover-ups. No laser tattoo removal sessions required!I was disappointed that I never go a tattoo from this shop but it clearly wasn't meant to be. In the end I wanted to see someone who felt comfortable and was confident with what I needed done.

Everything about my experience with Steveston tattoo was excellent! Everyone was incredibly friendly and professional. They made me feel instantly comfortable and welcome. Chris Winsor tattooed me and made an idea I've been thinking about for two years come to life even more beautifully than I had imagined. I will definitely be a returning customer and would recommend this shop to anyone looking to get tattooed in the Vancouver area.

I would like to thank Billie Jean for the work that you did in making this happen! Talented artists, friendly staff, clean environment. I would definitely recommend this shop to all first timers. Awesome Experience and already planning my next visit!

Beware: I missed a tattoo appointment and was told that they would not reschedule and the artist didn't want too tattoo me anymore. Before my consult I must have received 3-4 reminder calls but I didn...
Beware: I missed a tattoo appointment and was told that they would not reschedule and the artist didn't want too tattoo me anymore. Before my consult I must have received 3-4 reminder calls but I didn't hear anything before the actual appointment. Also when I paid my deposit I was told i would receive a sketch of the tattoo in advance but never received anything despite following up with the artist via email. When I tried to resolve the issue with the shop they said they couldn't help and my $100 deposit was gone. This was going to be my second tattoo at the store which makes their lack of willingness to help me out even worse. i guess loyal customers don't mean much to them at Steveston tattoo. Great art but not great service.

Thanks to the excellent front desk staff and artist Miles Kanne. I am thrilled with my new custom tattoo of two rabbits and clover. Everyone was very accommodating and made me feel comfortable in an environment that can be quite intimidating...even after I completely changed my mind about my tattoo. It's really neat how every artist in this shop is accomplished in thier own style, and there are several awards at the different station. I appreciated how, as I sat for 3.5 hours, all staff took turns playing thier music, and it was a variety of styles.Super clean!

I've gotten all three of my tattoos done here, and all done by Miles. This shop is fantastic, they're kind friendly, and willing to work with you to get you the perfect tattoo. I would also like to say that Miles was great, when I was getting my first tattoo he made me feel comfortable, and explained everything to me while he was doing it. He gave me ideas for my tattoos I hadn't even thought of, and all three of them turned out better than I had originally planned. If you're looking for friendly people, great artists, and great tattoos this is definitely the place you should go to.

I went in, on my birthday, to see if they had room for a walk-in. Even though the shop was completely empty, and it was just the two of them chatting at the front desk, they hesitated but then said they could fit me in. She asked what I wanted, and I told her that I wanted some Gaelic lettering on my wrist. I showed her what phrase I wanted, and where, (on my wrist, with the words facing towards me, because I wanted it to be a personal reminder to me, something I could read every day). She told me she could do it, but only if the words faced the other way. I told her no, this is specifically so I can read it myself, and between her and the other guy I was told that 'no, that's wrong, it's upside down, and you'll end up regretting it'. I tried to explain once again that it was meant for me to read, and she told me 'I put my name on everything that I do, and I can't have something like that out there. I won't do the tattoo'.Apparently the customer can't choose what they want to have PERMANENTLY inked on their body, the way they want, because it's 'wrong'. Happy birthday to me. Will never recommend them to anyone, ever.

As a consumer, there are 3 things I look for in a tattoo parlour (being famous and over-priced aren't on the list), and Steveston Tattoo Co. has them all....ARTISTIC TALENT and TECHNICAL SKILLIt's not...
As a consumer, there are 3 things I look for in a tattoo parlour (being famous and over-priced aren't on the list), and Steveston Tattoo Co. has them all....ARTISTIC TALENT and TECHNICAL SKILLIt's not enough to be creative. Technique is super important. I've seen good designs that weren't done correctly, didn't heal up well, and needed to be fixed later. The work Jesse Strong did for me is not only beautiful, there haven't been any complications.CLEANLINESSObviously, a place that uses sterile equipment is a no-brainer, plus I also appreciate the fact that Steveston Tattoo Co. isn't grungy. It's got a lot of character, and the fun retro style is really welcoming.BEDSIDE MANNERI've decided my time is too precious to spend a couple hours with someone who is sullen and hard. All the staff I met so far at Steveston Tattoo Co. are friendly, professional, approachable, non intimidating. I would especially recommend these guys to someone who is a little nervous about getting a first tattoo... they will make the experience a really good one.

I've gotten all three of my tattoos done here, and all done by Miles. This shop is fantastic, they're kind friendly, and willing to work with you to get you the perfect tattoo. I would also like to say that Miles was great, when I was getting my first tattoo he made me feel comfortable, and explained everything to me while he was doing it. He gave me ideas for my tattoos I hadn't even thought of, and all three of them turned out better than I had originally planned. If you're looking for friendly people, great artists, and great tattoos this is definitely the place you should go to.
