My best friend and I had been planning to get tattoos together for a couple of years, and decided to get them done here! The staff were always courteous, professional, and willing to answer any questions that we had about the whole process. One of the best tattoo experiences I've had, and I've had many! Meagan did an amazing job, both designing and tattooing my idea. From the moment I met her she instilled complete confidence - she knew exactly what I was going for and the best way to do it, she didn't miss a beat! She was super friendly and easy to be around, and she's a fabulous artist- the design she came up with for me was even better than my initial idea! My best friend and I came in for friendship tattoos at Wanderlust recently. I had been there once before to witness my husband and his brother and father receive tattoos together and I was very impressed with the studio and the work done. I always knew that when I was ready to receive my first tattoo, I would come back to Wanderlust. Since these were our very first tattoos, we were definitely on the nervous side. Meagan was awesome and was very patient with us as we tried to decide on placement. We also had given her an idea of what we wanted and she took it and ran with it and it came out beautifully. The entire Wanderlust experience is awesome...very family friendly. I even had my 4 month old daughter in the studio with us and they were completely understanding and welcoming. Wanderlust is a great studio space, open and clean and bright AND cool tunes and chat. More to the point, Daniel is an amazing tattoo artist! Starting with the consult where he listened, offered suggestions, made sure he understood what I wanted, and helped me through to the final design decision. Nice touch, making an easy couple of hours for me, and a final work that I'm over the moon about - I now have beautiful bamboo running up my calf! I used to be very much in love with marks work, but my last tattoo with him left me feeling depressed and crazy, I had something booked with him that he said he would be able to do with a lot of confidence and then it turned out that when it came time he told me that he couldn't do it all and started trying to get me to move the piece on my body to somewhere else, anyway he ended changing the entire design to something soo simple and stark that it was the void of art, this broke my heart and I tried to have him fix it but again he wanted to do what he wanted and the route he was going was only going to make matters worse, I have now been getting tattoo removal done on my throat for about five months now, it's painful, it'll be another five to ten months before it's gone, the bill is more than hefty and my confidence has taken such a blow and all he had to say was maybe I would be better off with a different artist and to top all that off he didn't have the balls to email himself, he had his wife do it. He also went ahead the time before that and decided that my skull on my chest would be better yellow instead of green and didn't say anything, I was very particular and up front about the colours I wanted, but he has this ego and he takes control and it doesn't go well. I have recently heard some other horror stories that make me want to cry and vomit, I highly recommend going to a more seasoned and receptive and respectful artist, someone who will let you get stoked on what you want instead of ruining your trust and confidence in tattoos. Thanks and all for the apology but it's quite the expensive and extensive experience, the apology doesn't mean much to me at all, but yeah I really hope you think of this before doing this to someone else also, this isn't even the worst he's done to someone, I heard a story that literally turned my stomach.... The shop is huge, clean and bright and they've got tons of beautiful artwork up. A review for Daniel and Wanderlust Tattoo Co.: A huge thank you to Wanderlust and their artist Daniel. My father, brother, and I wanted to get matching tattoos as a symbol of our genuine bond. We hunt yearly and thought a tribal deer would be perfect. We spontaneously called up Wanderlust and they were able to get us in the same day. Daniel listened carefully to what we were looking for, viewed a few pictures and told us he would prepare a sketch for us. We came back in twent...y minutes and it was perfect; you could tell he truly listened and understood what we were after. We showed up at about 2pm and Daniel (although technically off at 5pm) stayed through his evening until after 9pm to accommodate us, as my dad was leaving the next day on a 6am flight back home to Saskatchewan. All three tattoos were done carefully and his work is second to none! Perfect symmetry, clean lines, and solid shading. His demeanour was fantastic, and made me (a first timer) much more relaxed than I would have been otherwise. Wanderlust is a great place, very clean, bright and inviting, with a much more comfortable feel than any other tattoo outfit I've ever been in. I have loved my experience (so far) at Wanderlust Tattoo! Im having my body art done by Daniel and he's a great artist. I've gone in for my first tattoo ever, and it was a big one so all I have is the outlining done. All the staff there are totally friendly, helpful and encouraging and really are making this a fantastic experience!
