Mike Prior is a really talented and open tattoo artist. For me...most importantly he is grounded in the fundamentals of art composition and can do it with a rad tattoo gun in his hand.The shop has all the right design touches and decor, so you feel like your getting tattooed in a legit tattoo parlor - but none of the old school stuck up BS that normally comes with it. After having scoped out 4 or 5 tattoo shops close to where I live in Vancouver, I was recommended to Lady Luck in Langley.. BEST decision I have ever made! Tawd was the first person I met when I walked in and he immediately made me feel welcomed in the shop.. Which was a nice change from all of the other shops I walked into. I felt that he was very humble and listened really well to what I wanted! Sure enough, I went back to get a hip piece done - which he rocked! Not to mention, it was a cover up job! Tawd drew something up for me, I liked it, but wasn't in love... He then free handed some art directly on me, and it was perfect! He began working on it, and two hours later I had a beautiful masterpiece on my hip! 11 years ago I got a design done by Tawd. It was my first piece and about 4 1/2 hours. He knew just how to keep me comfortable, was very courteous, talked just enough to be polite but let me enjoy the zen whenever I felt the urge. I never needed to go back for an initial touch up. The colour is STILL fantastic and vibrant, lines still great. Last year I went to another shop as I had a given certificate and a friend is friends with the owner. The experience was ok but the colour was patchy, has already faded out quite a bit. Seeing the pieces side by side I really think Tawd is the way to go! Read Less

I went in to get a cover up of a black panther tattoo I got around 30 years ago. Over the years, I had been thinking of getting a cover up done. Finally, I decided that I had this First Nations painting and asked Mike Prior if we could use it.He was very careful to make sure he got the artwork right, was super careful with the placement and did an exceptional job. I got tons of looks and questions.What was really cool is I got a chance to meet the artist that did the painting. While Mike was talking about the painting, he was concerned about respecting the artist's work. When I showed the artist my tattoo and some of the changes we had to make to make it work as a coverup of a black tattoo.The artist was impressed and was complimentary of Mike's interpretation of his work and the additions.Now I have a unique tattoo that is better than I expected.
