I do reviews on a regular basis. 99% positive ones and I do enjoy writing them. This one has been taking me some time to decide what to do or say, because it’s coming from the opposite side.
I visited Mirella’s place to meet with the permanent make-up artist, Cindy Chernoff. My previously tattooed eyebrows had faded and I was looking for a professional to bring them back to the shape and this time, have them feathered. I went through lots of internet browsing and made a few phone calls, when I chose to go with Cindy, because she was in my area. Price-wise, she was the same like her competitors in White Rock or West Vancouver. Being indolent cost me this ordeal. I will make it easy on me to write it and for everyone who’ll read it:
• I came with a picture and my eyebrows done the way I wanted to have them. I didn’t end with the shape and the techniques. I asked for her web page, she had none then and on her phone she showed me a few images of eyebrows done. None of what I saw was practice on me. None whatsoever! I have 2 lines shaped the way far from what I wanted.
• Cindy worked on me as a “lying down” patient at a dentist’s, sitting at top of my head. She was leaning on my face, putting her weight, pushing my eye-balls or nose, or wherever on my face she felt comfortable. My reaction didn’t move her at all.
• When she finished one eyebrow, she immediately wanted to move to do another one. When I asked for a mirror, it took 3 times for me to ask for it, until she was willing to give it to me. She wanted to do the full work without me to even look if anything should be fixed before the other eyebrow follows the shape of the first one….She would sigh with aggravation when I asked to see myself.
• My eyebrows were supposed to be dark brown. They are grey. Actually grey/blue! No feathering techniques were used by Cindy on me.
• There was a fan about 3 meters away from me, blowing with a full power. After sitting there about 15 minutes, I asked her to turn it down a bit. She retorted
it will be too hot here”. Not even a try to resolve situation, that we both are happy. When I asked to at least turn it different way, again, with a judgment in her attitude, she did.
• It is always an issue to find parking around and when I got there, I mentioned that I parked couple blocks away, that’s why I was a bit late (I have had a recent foot surgery). With a smirk on her face she replied “I always have a spot available in front of the door”. I tried to make it loose and funny and said that maybe she should leave it for the costumers; she didn’t show any type of consent…
• I contacted her today and result of our conversation brought me to this decision to type a review on her unprofessional character. I expressed my disappointment and the resulting color I can see when the scabs disappeared. She objected that this is not the final shade. However, I don’t have brown brows, but grey. And I don’t believe that one day soon grey will switch to brown. Her last message was, that “this is too funny” (?)
• Cindy didn’t show a bit of respect to me as a customer. Her ideas and opinions were on top of everything. Her demeanours have never been shown to me by anybody I have met as a business person on a Canadian Ground. I have been working with and for people for decades, but I don’t believe, that people who don’t like people and cannot work for their satisfaction, should be working for them..
WOULD I EVER RECOMMEND CINDY CHERNOFF? NO.
WOULD I EVER VISIT HER AGAIN? NEVER.
There’s so much positive energy in peoples’ businesses all around. I felt it with each and every lady while on the phone when I was looking for the RIGHT artist. Cindy doesn’t have what they do. I will never care how far I have to drive to get what I need and want.
