After doing some research on helix piercings and looked up a couple of stores that did them, I have decided on Geronimo. It wasn't the cheapest price in around Vancouver but it wasn't the most expensive either. It was $65 for the helix piercing and earring. Customer service and cleanliness was priority for me. I've read great reviews about Staci so I've decided to give a call to ask a couple of questions. Even though I told her that I probably won't be able to get a piercing for another 6 months she was very kind and answered all the questions concerns I had.About 6 months later I came to the store to get my helix piercing and she was great. Super friendly and gave me the pros and cons of each earring I could choose. Although it mentions titanium earrings on their site, they didn't carry any when I went so I went with surgical steel.Place was clean and I was greeted when I came in. I highly recommend Staci for getting your piercings done. There is also parking in the back but limited.Update: After 2 weeks my helix piercing is healing great. Over the 2 weeks, besides the slight redness and being a bit sore during the first day, there had been no swelling, discharge, crusties, or anything. I did sea salt soaks 1-2 a day for about a week and would rinse it when I shower. Soap makes my piercing itch so I stopped using soap after 2 days. Read Less

I took my 8 year old daughter here to get her ears pierced. Staci, our piercer, was friendly and professional. She took her time, and explained everything she was doing, which went a long way to making my daughter feel comfortable. The actual piercing part was done very quickly, and according to my daughter wasn't very painful. I spent alot of money in there and i was happy with my tatts except for one that was done crooked and it had to be fixed but it is still noticeable and i was never offered or given my birthday month deal and i was also quoted one price but in the end the price was inflated. I am especially disgusted to learn that the owner has an extremely racist mouth and it is mainly directed at Native peoples and it has been said right from his own mouth that they are all drunken chugs and indians are the best to rip off cuz theyre always drunk so therefore easy prey... i guess it is safe to assume he didnt realize alot.of us people tht feed his pocket are aboriginal and has offended a ron of people... i am sorry i ever spent a dime in there and one day he will say his racist garbage in front if the wrong person and get sued.... im thinking he doesnt understand that this land was once owned by the natives? At first I felt a little uneasy after learning that it was his first week on the job, but all signs of reluctance faded away as he took what I wanted and drew the most amazing tattoo stencil I've seen.He was very patient and responsive to all my picky adjustments. Met with Dan, great artist, but was more than happy to do my simple tattoo of 6 kitty paw prints going up my back and shoulder. I had brought in a mold of her paw print, and he found a way to photocopy it, and then make a great sketch. Dan was great to work with, good small talk, quick and efficient. The shop itself is clean, and they have no issue showing you the autoclave as well, as they take health and safety very seriously. Funny enough I actually found this place through Yelp. XDI knew exactly what I wanted (just some simple text in an already chosen font) and called ahead just to make sure they weren't swamped. By the time I got there, Mike, the artist on the floor, was actually just heading out to get lunch. Apparently another "client getting text on their left arm" came in right before me...so I just had to wait for about 25 mins or so - which is fine! My nose piercing had partially closed up and I came here to see what could be done.  The owner was really friendly and helpful, managed to get a stud in there and only charged $10 dollars for the stud, and not for the service.  Seems like a good guy!  If I get any future piercings.  I'll probably come here from now on, instead of my usual place in Van as its closer to me and I like to support local businesses.  Glad I found out about this place. Do not get a tattoo on your front chest!! It hurt like a female dog!!Last week, I was getting $1 ice coffee at Metrotown McDonald. While I was waiting, there was a very attractive young woman standing right next to me. I noticed on her feet has a nice little tattoo. I said to her. "Nice tattoo!!" She opened up and non-stop talking!! I asked her "How much does it cost? I want to get one too." She said this one cost me $80 and the other one cost me $90. As she was telling me "the other one". She pulled down her pants for me to see "inside". My eyes popped out and had a mini-heart attack! This was McDonald and she just pulled down her pants to show me her tattoo!! And she keep talking about get it at "Geronimo" across from Metrotown.I'm a smart shopper. I don't act by emotion. I called 3 different tattoo places and visiting total of 4 tattoo shops and getting quotes from every one. It's nothing but pure frustration. Some place, I had to wait for a week to get appointment. Some place, quoted me like an arm and a leg, some place doesn't even return phone calls. My dream and vision came true at the Geronimo Tattoo! Their price is reasonable. Their work is efficient and accurate. They are friendly and very gentle. They made me feel very comfortable. They all have good sense of humor ... just like me :) The result was incredible!! You can see the photo that I posted. I'm 100% very happy at the work. And the whole process was very smooth. Just one tip for everyone thinking to get a tattoo. DO NOT GET IT ON YOUR FRONT CHEST!! It's extremely painful. I wanted to write a review for this place since it looks like the last time anyone bothered was 4 years ago! Things have certainly changed since then by the looks of things.I went here for a re-work of an old tattoo from somewhere else that didn't heal properly (by my own fault). From the moment I walked in I felt welcomed and the shop looked and smelled clean. I'm pretty picky about tattoos so I looked through the portfolios before choosing my artist.  I was given a quote for my basically new tattoo and since there was an opening I got in right away. Miguel was my artist and he was very professional the whole time and even let me choose the music we listened to as he was working on me. He changed his gloves multiple times throughout the set-up, tattoo itself and before wrapping up my shiny new(ish) tattoo. The work was great, he made it look brand new again and even added a background to make it pop. Altogether he was faster than it took originally and it looks a million times better. It's been over a month now and my tattoo healed wonderfully with no fall-outs or faded areas.I would urge anyone looking for a tattoo to check this place out and look at the portfolios that are at the shop to pick the artist that's right for you. I got my nostril done there October '09 by a friendly, maternal rockabilly chick. I had a great selection of jewelry to choose from and she explained the aftercare thoroughly. I came back a few times to follow up and each time she remembered me and was just as friendly. Boy, has it gone downhill since then. September '10 my boyfriend decides to get his ears done there. The sweet rockabilly chick had been replaced by a n unfriendly, stand-offish bald guy. I dismissed it as that's the sort you expect at a tattoo shop. However, throughout the process the guy seemed unsure and even at times incompetent and barely spoke to us. There was very little selection in jewelry. Despite this the piercing was successful. My boyfriend's only aftercare instructions came from a small sheet of paper urging him to buy piercing solutions etc. I went there out of desperation a couple months later when I experienced intense pain from my piercing. I described the pain and he unsympathetically dismissed it as a keloid without looking at it or offering any advice. I asked if I could at least get my piece replaced and he said I'd have to buy the jewelry from the mall. I was a little annoyed, but I bought a nose screw and brought it to him.He disinfected it and attempted.... and attempted... and attempted to get the nose screw in. He had the same incompetent demeanor as before and looked at the jewelry a few times as if it were a foreign object. He did not give me any indication of what was going on and acted annoyed when I asked. After being stabbed with the jewelry one too many times and dealing  with way too much of his attitude I asked if I should go somewhere else. He accused me of being rude and stated that, "It [wasn't] easy." I asked if he thought he could get it in and he avoided my question. I let him take one more shot and once again he was unsuccessful. He gave me an insincere apology and I left with more than just my nose irritated. I finally went to "Next" downtown where I got my navel done. They got the screw in so fast I didn't have time to complain about the guy at Geronimo. I can't say anything for their tattoos, but I wouldn't want to get inked anywhere that would employ that guy. So now that the whole Christmas thing is over and just before New Years thought it would be good to check out Geronimo Tattoo, conveniently located directly across from Metrotown. Booked a 4.30 appointment for my boyfriend to cash in on his XMAS gift a sports tattoo on his forearm. Place appeared to be clean and the office manager and the tattoo artist were down-to-earth. The only real problem was when we arrived the station hadn't been set-up so that took about 20 minutes and they were having printing problems so it took another 20 minutes to free-hand draw out the stencil. They charge by the hour...$150 per hour but the hour is 40 minutes, not 60 so if it's over the 40 you are looking at another 150$. Because it took so long to get going they nixed the charge for the additional 15 minutes it took. Tattoo was well done, lots of colour and my boyfriend definitely loves the idea of having his favourite hockey team plastered all over his forearm and No it is not the Canucks!I got my navel re-pierced as I had last had it done 3 years ago and suffered a severe infection so hopefully that doesn't happen again. Store manager did it and it was about a 4 on the pain level meter but very well done and the price was certainly right. I had payed 100+ at Adrenaline but here it was only 50$, excellent. Overall, great place but needs to be a little more organized when it comes to time! I would go back. Read Less
