Yes, this is located in the mall and I didn't mind spending $300+ yesterday. Look, if you're a kid looking to get pierced while your parents aren't looking or for high jinks, please skip and go to the playground. Most of the clientele are extremely young (the majority being younger than 25 yrs). I heard one young boy commenting that he wanted a sleeve (tattoo) and heard him telling his friends it would probably take "one hour". The staff were exceptionally polite and kept him and his friends informed. They walked away without getting any work. My husband and I just watched out of the corner of our eyes while we waited for my nose piercing. The piercer I've had twice now is Tory and she does a phenomenal job. I can't comment for any one else who works here. Both my husband and I are extensively tattooed. I'll answer a few fyis: 1) Yes, tattoos will hurt. Yes, piercings will sting. 2) Yes, it does cost money for good work and it pays to do your research. 3) Yes, the staff here are extremely polite and good-natured for what they have to put up with on a daily basis. I have never had a bad experience here. 4) Yes, it is worth it jumping to an upgrade right away and not skimping on jewellery (getting cheap jewellery), ie real gold or diamonds. It is your body, after all. 5) Be specific and clear. If you want something done specifically or have allergies, be clear about what you can and can't do.  6) NO, sleeve tattoos do NOT take one hour (usually one day's session at 4-8 hours+ or multiple sessions/days). The average cost of an arm sleeve or back tattoo (dependent on surface area and level of detail) is approx upwards of $2000 to $10000 for a good artist. Good luck and don't be afraid to ask questions. If you are not serious about any work or are window shopping for no other reason than to get the best or cheapest deal there is, please re-think whether you want this work done. Read Less

Please don't make the same mistake I did!!!Came here to get a tongue piercing. Absolutely horrible idea, please never go here even if you expect the experience. I was expecting most of the stuff said as I knew it's just a mall grade shop, read all the reviews I could at the time (albeit not all, as it was on somewhere else that didnt go into detail of why this place was bad) but naively went ahead anyway. Not only did they pierce my tongue crookedly, but I had to remove the piercing by the consultation of a doctor because the barbell's bar was too long (which yes, healing tongue piercings need long bars but this one was so large it started tearing my tongue even while drinking water or sucking on ice), but the worker even misjudged my tongue heavily, saying that my tongue was fit for piercing a tongue, which I now know is untrue.It's caused me a really really heavy lisp to develop for me even with the piercing out, and I risk other health issues from the blood loss and continuous tearing the extremely large bar they gave me. Never EVER GO HERE. They will do anything to get their paycheck even if it means long term problems for you! Read Less

Pretty good place for piercings, they do tattoos too. Something simple it okay, Line work is fine but nothing too fancy. Not big on some of the designs but piercing jobs are done well. Fast, professional, and friendly staffs. Not too many artists so may need a bit of a wait but usually it's a 5 mins wait occasionally a bit longer. Quite a few different accessories to choose from including more expensive quality like gold or rose gold. Titanium is best for people with sensitive or allergic skin. They sell some colour contacts although I've never heard of the brand and it doesn't seem to have prescription but it seems like it's good for cosplay stuff. Pretty reasonable prices too. Read Less

Very happy I stopped in today. After looking for so long for a particular piece of jewelry, I finally found EXACTLY what I needed! The store is directly across from Winners\Home sense on the upper level of Metrotown. I don't know how I missed it before today ( well I do -I wasn't wearing my contacts ! ) that's why !The store is very bright, clean and well merchandised. It looks really big. I was greeted promptly and asked if I needed help finding anything. I did and I told her exactly what it was I needed. She showed Me exactly what I was looking for ! My sister went there to get a rebel alliance tattoo with some flowers. Had no clue how exactly she wanted it but cade drew it up and made her vision come to life. Had a great experience here. Got my septum pierced and it was the least painful piercing I have ever experienced. The piercer was very friendly and professional. She answered all my questions and eased my fears. She had very gentle hands and was quick and painless. The piercing healed perfectly, no issues whatsoever. I got my nipples pierced over a week ago. Christina was my piercer. She’s an amazing piercer! Very informative on everything about the piercing. I came back a week later due to one piercing swelling a bit, and got a longer barbell. Tori got off of her break five minutes earlier to replace the barbell. Came here for a daith piercing and after 2 months it started getting irritated from my constant fiddling (stethoscope at work). I came back recently to get the jewellery changed to something smaller in hopes it wouldn't touch or interfere with my stethoscope. Tori really knew what she was doing and was very knowledgeable. she changed my jewellery and told me how to take care of the bumps. I live in Seattle and make the drive to Canada just to buy jewelry from here. When you walk in the first thing you'll think is "wow this place is super sterile and bright" during my last visit the heart shaped diath piercing caught my eye so I had to get a new piercing! It was quick and painless and the piercer was so sweet and good at her job. They measure and bend your nose rings to perfectly fit your nose which is awesome because many places in America don't carry a 20g and are pre bent to an L so it's not guaranteed to fit your nose.... the jewelry selection is great, my industrial was purchased from them as well and I've had it for over 2 years now and still going strong! She told me the piercer so I went to her. Then the piercer told me to go back to the other girl, and then the girl told the piercer she never told me to go to her. Liar. The associates here are unhelpful and kind of rude, to be honest. Everything is overpriced. I wanted to get a simple plain labret... Which apparently costs $15? Awful place. Got 2 piercings there, both done in the wrong spot and crooked. Went back last week to get a hoop for my nose piercing. The lady working didn't believe that my piercing was the size I was asking for so would only sell me a smaller size (until I showed her my online order receipt for the stud I had in) and then she exchanged it. Also wouldn't give me the size that I was asking for when I told her I wanted a smaller one because I already had the size she was selling me at home. Went in to get some new rings for my helix piercings. The staff was nice, but I never saw anything get cleaned after handling the rings I bought. I guess it ripped some tissue in my piercings, which have been fine for the three years since I got them done at another shop, because the next morning my ear was totally red with some nice puss. Day 2 after the new rings and I think I'm off to the doctor for antibiotics tomorrow with how bad it's gotten. Antibiotics was also the advice of a better shop I visited today with how rough the infected site looks. *Update* This is about 3 weeks later. After 2 weeks of little healing progress, my doctor gave me another round of antibiotics and told me to get the piercings removed. After about only half a week of time since then, everything is almost back to normal. While the initial infection was likely due to some dirty material, the ongoing irritation was definitely the metal. The gold plated and apparently surgical steel rings were heavily tarnished black around where they entered my ear and would come off a little if rubbed on. Anybody thinking of going here, please spend the extra time researching and the extra money it takes to buy quality jewelry from a store with good reviews. The amount healing from this cost me in medical supplies and the eventual loss of my piercings altogether was not worth the spur of the moment decision I made to go here! Read Less

Worst place ever. Got a tongue piercing here (my 5th time piercing my tongue). During prep, I asked her to use a clamp but the piercer claimed she never uses a clamp and she's done it thousands oftimes so she doesn't need one. My piercing came out crooked and shortly after I chipped a tooth. Went back and the staff (i believe her name is Divhya) was EXTREMELY rude to me. Horrible service. I got another piercing done (price equivalent) eventually but she made me feel as if I should've expected the mistake to come up & that giving me another piercing for free was such a privilege. Customer service is OK. Prices for jewelry are decent but honestly, bring an earring you ALREADY know fits your ears to compare....if not, I would say spend the 30 or 40 required of you to get your jewelry changed for free. Although the person doing the switch is alright, the workers there have absolutely no idea when it comes to recommending proper sizing and you CANNOT return jewelry. I've been twice only & both times they've misjudged. The first time I wasn't sure which sizing to get and BOTH girls insisted that the ones they recommended would fit. Luckily I spent over 30-40$ so they changed my jewelry. The piercer (who does the change) ended up having to switch out 2 of the 4 I bought because the length was too short (the third one, though she fitted it, ended up being too tight in the end and cut into my ears and broke skin, so in the end only 1/4 was actually the appropriate size). The second time I knew roughly what size I needed and even told the girl helping me that the one they recommended was too short last time, that I would need longer. I even had the ONLY one that fit properly with me and offered to take it out so she could see. She persisted that she did not need to see it and chose 2 for me- I trusted her choices but I should not have. Again, out of the 2, one was a good size but the other is WAY too long. It sticks out which doesn't look flattering and it's more easily cause in my hair, clothes, and ends up being more of a bother when lying down. It's not that the stuff is bad or people are bad...they just don't have any real knowledge, as far as I can tell, so make sure to give yourself a safety net. Read Less

This place is great to buy accessories but really a hit and miss for piercings from what I'm reading. My friend got her naval pierced here and had a great experience so she recommended I got mine done here. REGRETS. The woman who was piercing me was telling us stories that people who apply for the job there practice piercing on her, so yeah she sounds really good and experienced if she is examining people doing it on her. She went in and out/pierced me around 3 or 4 times.. it was one of the most painful experiences I have been through. She was having trouble taking off the needle on the barbell and stated because there is lots much blood. It kept slipping and she would have to take it out and re-pierce over and over. (she was shaking while piercing) She then asked if I had drank alcohol, I said I did the night before and questioned is my blood thinned, am I bleeding, she answered yes. "well you should have that question on your damn questionnaire/waiver then.." She was nice but c'mon, piercing me multiple times?! Horrible experience. I mean, you can't really mess up ear lobe piercings. Tbh, id only come here for my ear lobes and nothing else because the people here don't look that experienced. When I got my second lobes done I had to share a room with some other guy with the window wide open for everyone else to see. Also, the piercing wasn't in line with my other lobe piercing. For my first piercing ever(have never had any piercings on lobe or body), I chose to get my industrial done at bodyjewlz. I got my industrial piercing done here a few days ago and I loved it! It did hurt a little bit but my piercer and  the person at the counter had already told me that it was one of the more painful piercings. The lady who did my piercing was very knowledgeable about piercings. She checked my ears to see if it was suitable for an industrial piercings before the actual procedure. The place was very clean and sanitary, and my piercer was wearing gloves the entire time. My industrial cost a little over $200, $55 for the piercing and $145 for the barbell, but that was because I chose a premium bar with a swarovski crystal center piece. Everything is a bit on the pricier side, but you're getting your worth in higher quality products.The lady at the counter and the lady who did my piercing were super friendly and informative. They even cracked jokes with me and my friend about how intense and painful it would be to get an industrial for my first piercing. I really don't understand why the reviews are so bad though. My friends and I have come here multiple times and every single time was super pleasant.Overall, I'll give it a 4.5 stars, the minus 0.5 is due to cost and price of everything. Read Less

Worst Service Ever!!I went in to get my ears pierced, a friend of mine suggested Body Jewlz as he had gotten some of his piercings done there. I was so unimpressed by one of the girls on the front desk who was totally unprofessional! At times I have difficulty understanding people as they speak, being non-Canadian... this person was rude and patronizing, ending up speaking to me like I was a child. Her attitude and demeanour was so unprofessional she made inappropriate comments towards my partner and was genuinely unhelpful. I felt totally uncomfortable in the store. As a business that effects people's bodies you would think you would want an inviting, inclusive and understanding environment. Body Jewlz is none of those. The only reason I stayed was because my friend who suggested it was there with me.The piercer was awesome, totally saving the experience! When I first started coming to this shop for microdermal jewellery I was pretty happy; they had decent selection and they had a two for $35 deal on their surgical steel dermal tops- which I went for. I was also offered a free change on my jewellery which was nice. The next time I went there for new dermal tops the person told me there was no deal, I still bought one. Went in three or four weeks ago and was offered the deal by a different person but they didn't have what I wanted, returned today and they had what I wanted and asked for the two/$35 and another person said there was no deal and that the other employees probably made it up. Frankly and bluntly, this is sh**ty business practice, your employees should all be on the same page about what deals are applicable and they shouldn't be offered on a case by case basis. Very unimpressed. The woman helping up got the pricing for jewellery and piercing wrong about three times. She also was not focused as to who she was supposed to help in sequence. Took a long time. They don't have adequate privacy for piercings - they pull down the curtains but people can still see through - it actually made me very uncomfortable and i got anxious. They offered to put in for me which I appreciated as I've had trouble screwing in the ball before. First time I went there I got my jewel for my lip piercing changed. They changed it for me for $10, whatever. I've had many piercings and tattoos so I know the drill. My piercer who changed my lip ring was cleaning her station and getting her tools ready. She changed my lip ring and I was out of there. Now just to mention I got my lip pierced at Adrenaline downtown 2 years prior! Anyway, a couple of days later my lip was so sore and swollen that I could barely talk it was so painful. I had to take my lovely piercing out because my job intailed me to speak the whole time. That was that. Unsanitized use of gloves... Change them after cleaning! I gave them another try because my cousins were buying jewelry there and spontaneously they got me a daith piercing last year around this time. I got a different piercer this time, Kristina. She probably was not experienced at the time because this piercing was supposed to be a few seconds not even, but she had to push a few times for it to go through. MOST PAINFUL THING IN MY LIFE! I wish I can post up a picture of it right when it was done because there was a flap of skin at the bottom because of her weak force. Its still in my ear with the bump at the bottom. Went back to see if they can  suggest another jewel for it because it was not healing and the guy that owns the place suggested a "nice titanium piece that will cure it right up" he said the jewel I had was the wrong one so he got me to buy a fancy jewel with a life warrantee for the bling. Hah! This piercing is hell. I went to my piercer and she said its not the right metal for me. I am since paying the price of a keloid at the bottom and its still has not healed. I love piercings and I have a lot. I know how to take care of them but this place and people are amateurs trying to run a business. Had my septum done here last Sunday. It was done by Melina I think? I forget her name. She was a nice looking brown lady. I decided to get the piercing on the spur of the moment, having contemplated it for awhile. A lengthy conversation with the woman at the front (short dark hair, lots of piercings) convinced me to do it here- she seemed friendly and knowledgeable,  surely the piercer would be too, right? WRONG. She barely said hello, made my bf feel like a nuisance for being in the room at all, and she seemed very unsure if she could do it. I do have a SLIGHTLY crooked septum- very slightly- but she was acting like it was like /. I say, if you can't do it, that's fine, I'll go elsewhere,  and I start to stand up,  but she doesn't allow me to and keeps the stupid clamp she was using up my nose, tilting it everywhich way to try to see better. Finally, she decides on a spot. Fine. So she gets the needle, puts it through probably as slowly as is humanly possible, and pulls it out the other side. But where's the jewelry, you ask? On a table somewhere else. So she goes, finds it, opens it, puts it halfway through, and by this point the hole has started closing. So she tries forcing it, and after that doesn't work  (which she blamed on the fact that the jewelry was internally threaded, saying that external was better because it pokes through) she starts poking at the other side with the needle again. With no luck that time either. By this point, my poor butchered septum is bleeding a lot. And because my head is tilted back, it's bleeding up my nose. So I'm trying not to choke on my own blood, or smack her away from me, when she shoves a taper through the open end of the piercing??? A taper??? And then put the jewelry through. The whole time, when I said excuse me, you need to stop fishing, I need a second, you need to stop she would say things like "you said stop?" And keep going, or "no, I can't now" and she made me feel like some baby getting their first piercing and whining about it. I have 10 existing piercings- this isn't my first rodeo. When asked how long she's been piercing she said long time, but I seriously doubt it! She's only been at the shop since 2015. Anyways, so finally she has this circular barbell of questionable metal through, and I tell her that she can not screw the balls on, I'm going to have to change it early because I can only wear titanium (which they didn't have) and I'm going to do it sooner than later so I don't anger it once it's calmed down and started healing. She doesn't like this, doesn't care that the jewelry is going to make the piercing painful and reactive, and literally GRABS the ring and starts screwing them on before I can stop her. Her final, parting, comment? "It doesn't look as bad as I thought it would"No aftercare, just an insult. The girl at the front I had spoken to first ran over aftercare with me briefly as I was on may way the hell out.Run away, they make you pay before because if they didn't people would refuse to pay for crappy service. Quite happy with the end result of my tattoo. Not happy with the way the tattoo artist acted. She was cold and very unfriendly. Didn't even smile.  When I asked to take a picture of the stencil on my arm once the tattoo was placed, she got upset and said that I couldn't because it would be stealing her work and she thought I was going to let other people steal it.  Now I don't know if this tattoo shop has a policy against taking photos of the stencil, but if they did, I should have been made aware from the start.  Or atleast told in a polite way instead of this artist being rude in saying I wasn't allowed to take a photo. Do not come here for a piercing. Accessories are okay if you can stand the customer service which has been horrible every time that I have tried to come here, however, other than that I have seen work that they have done on others in front of me and I just shake my head. I am watching the way they're piercing girls and I don't think they have any knowledge in procedure. I recommend going to a real piercing place like Next downtown. You will be paying more but you're paying for better standards. They have a decent selections of rings that I have bought for my piercings but that is the extent of the purpose of being here. I asked a sizing and materials question and the girl at the counter had no knowledge of either. I am allergic to certain metals. If I am going to poke holes in my face and stick some metal in my face I need to know what kind of rings I am using as if I break out into an allergy it looks ugly and is painful. My mom was in town and wanted her helix pierced , and we walked passed the store so I dragged her inside , they were friendly and helpful, the price was reasonable till we upgraded to a sparkly jewel for $20 extra plus the cleaner and taxes it came to $89 which I think is a little pricy . This place has nice looking jewelry for a VERY affordable price. The only downfall is that the staff is not very knowledgable about the jewelry. I purchased two nose rings because they were 2/$20 so I thought why not, only to go home and try it and it was TOO SMALL! The end of the nose ring would stick out of my nostril because it wasn't big enough to go around my nose. Disappointed, I went back and I couldn't exchange it so I has to purchase two bigger ones, so I ended up spending $40. My friend was getting her first piercing done yesterday. So as I'm sitting there watching her get her ears pierced, I decide that I'm going to get my belly button done. So we go look around the shop, they have such beautiful jewelry to choose from. So I got a Swarovski crystal one. A bit pricey(85) but it's great for my sensitive skin and it heals it faster. The piercing itself is only 45. All the girls in there were super rad. The lady who did the piercing was calm and chill. Knew what she was doing. The whole this took less then 2 minutes. Was super impressed. Didn't hurt at all getting it done. Next day feels great. Even went for a run and it was fine. Highly recommend them!! Read Less

On August 15, 2013 my aunt and I went to Body Jewlz in Metrotown to take a look around (this will have been my second time at the store and my aunts first). She saw a captive bead ring by Anatometal (or it may have been Industrial Strength) that she liked and one of the floor staff physically showed my aunt how much of the ring she would see if it were to be put in her rook. She did this by placing the ring in the palm of her hand and using her other had she covered the portion of the ring that she claimed would not be seen (which was the majority of it). When my aunt got it put in (as she was pleased with what she was shown) the ring stuck out and was a complete eye sore. In other words, the entire ring was visible unlike what she was shown. It is one thing to be slightly off in a demonstration but to be as far off as one could possibly be is unacceptable. If you do not have the skill or knowledge to make judgments such as this, you should not be doing so. When my aunt expressed her disappointment, the piercer, Melina Elektra, attempted to fit the gem cluster on another ring but there were none smaller than the Anatometal/Insudtrial Strength ring so that would not work. She then proceeded to tell my aunt to give it a few days and see if she gets use to it to but my aunt was 100% sure that she was not and would never be happy with a ring sticking out of her ear in an awkward position. I completely understand that once you get jewelry put in, due to the transfer of bodily fluids it is non-refundable. However, this situation was the result of complete misinformation on the part of the employee and thus my aunt made a misguided decision. As my aunt was disappointed and didn't know what to do, I stepped in and told them just that - that due to the employee's inability to make even a satisfactory estimate of the visibility of the ring that I find it only fair that the purchase price of the ring be refunded. They did just that and my aunt got a barbell instead and was refunded the difference and was charged a "re-stocking fee" of $10.While my aunt was at the register with the employee, Melina was talking with another employee that I believe was just starting her shift (as she was not there when we first came in) on the other side of the counter and stated "I'm glad no one else was here to see that." Prior to and after that remark, she repeatedly said "I'm not going out to smoke...I'm just going to go get cancer" or something along the lines of that. Regardless, I do not think it is professional to make either of those statements in front of customers! AND in the midst of this, there was another lady waiting to get her lip pierced and Melina did the piercing right in front of us, stating that she had waited long enough. At no point did she ask the lady if she was okay with us being in the piercing room nor did she ask us to leave!! Again, this is absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable.But the worst of all is that the piercing room may look clean but Melina does not keep the piercing process as sterile as possible. After putting on her gloves she proceeded to open drawers, take out items, and was even handed a spray bottle by an employee not wearing gloves (the same employee who misinformed my aunt). One would think you would have all of these things ready before you put your gloves on or would change them before you did the piercing or jewelry insertion.Needless to say, at this time I do not recommend Body Jewlz in Metrotown. The only reason I give them two stars is because they did refund the purchase price of the jewelry and their piercing room and store in general are kept clean. Furthermore, I want to emphasize that I am in no way trying to make this place look bad. What I am trying to convey is that they have a lot to improve on (both the piercer and employees). This experience gave me and my aunt a greater appreciation for Adrenaline Vancity and gives not only me but her one more reason to recommend Adrenaline to anyone looking into getting a piercing done (I would recommend Michael Bilinsky at Granville and my Aunt would recommend Kyle Otsuji at West 4th for piercings)!
