The staff are professional and the artist very talented and worth the money they charge. If your looking for good quality tattoo that you will not regret this is the place for you. It is expensive to get tattoo in the city but they do a good job , most people know that you have to tip the artist for their time and the good work they have done for you. This is just me the sign they have on the wall which say they accept tips , I am sure they have their own reasons but it really puts me off because I know I have to live a tip but the sign makes me feel like is about money not the service. I am not saying they should not have the sign I think maybe they should use different wording that is not confronting but delivers the message. Read Less

Had a great experience at Primitive. Shop was clean and tidy and prices were very reasonable ($300-$400 including a touch up) for a medium sized rib piece. Georgina drew a beautiful design and had no issue with changing the placement of the stencil as many times as I needed. Would definitely recommend going here! Read Less

At the consult it was hard to interpret what the design was going to look like but once we went in for the tattoo the design was done beautifully and we were able to make changes on the spot. The tattoo itself was done amazingly and the artist was extremely cautious as to what me and my siblings needs were because we all had a different reaction to the tattoo. I wouldn't give any stars if that was possible. I also had two tattoos done by Petra, very sub standard work. I have tattoos that are over 20 years old and they don't look as faded as these. My husband and I had a last minute trip to Perth booked over the long weekend (Sunday, Monday) My husband wanted a tattoo done but we though there would be no way any shops would be open but Primitive was and they took my husband in right before closing on Sunday, even stayed late to do his tattoo. My partner has been seeing Marc over the past couple years for his Samoan three-quarter sleeve.  I was able to sit in on his last appointment, in which Marc used traditional tattooing methods.  Using only a traditional tattooing tool, ink and expert precision, Marc completed a bulk of the arm in about four hours.  As a spectator I quite enjoyed the serene environment created by Marc's eclectic decor and lack of noise from a tattoo gun. I was amazed at Marc's focused and steady demur throughout the whole session.  The raw nature of traditional tattooing made me feel like I was apart of a primal and generational art-form.  A higher and deeper level of tattooing if you will.  Overall our experience with primitive tattoo was excellent.  Everyone was very professional, and the location is walking distance from the train station.  Already thinking about going back for his next tattoo project.
