This place needs to work out what their minimum charge is. First tattoo I was charged $150 for a 15 minute job based on their 'minimum studio charge'. Went by to see how much a second tattoo would cost (4 weeks later) and was told $100 as that was the minimum studio charge. I went in to this tattoo shop a few weeks back to get my grandfathers name. The female tattooist showed me some ideas and I decided I liked something feminine. I was nervous because she drew the name straight on my skin without drawing it on paper. When I looked in the mirror I couldn't believe it the tattoo is perfect. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of my tattoo artist, anyway he gave the impression he really couldn't care less, and barely said a word to me throughout the process. My small, simple outlined wrist tattoo is absolutely shocking. The outline is very, very thick (when I asked for, and was told I could have it thin) and completely irregular. I've never been more disappointed, and so embarrassed to have this on me. I constantly get asked what it is even supposed to be of! I've now had to begin the long, very expensive & painful process of tattoo removal. This was my 3rd tattoo (1st one here) and had never had a bad experience until now. I highly recommend doing your research & selecting your tattooist carefully based both on their portfolio AND their attitude towards their job, and towards you as a client. Although I know there are some great artists here, this is not the case with at least one of them. Read Less

It had been over ten years between tattoos for me, so when we moves to Brunswick, where tattoo shops are everywhere you look and tattooed people even more so, the urge to get another got to be too strong. After checking out all of the local shops and artists I decided to head to Green Lotus. They have a fantastic variety of artists in staff, working in a great range of styles. Everyone here is friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the artists themselves with the actual tattooing being quite reasonably priced. My first tattoo here was by Nicole, who was great to work with. She has tattooed a few of my friends now and has been great every time. We headed back here during the Sydney Road Street Party for a flash tattoo day, which the shop does every year. All of the artists put together some new flash artwork for the day and it's first come, first serve. I got in first with Kane for a neat little hamburger tattoo and by the time we left they were already telling people the wait would be at least two hours. If you're liking for a new tattoo around Brunswick then definitely check out Green Lotus, with a great range of styles as well as visiting guest artists, you're bound to find someone to suit your needs.
