I had my double helix done here, and had as pleasant an experience as possible, given the situation (ouch!). The staff who served me were brilliant. The piercer did an awesome job, and was excellent at keeping the experience as stress free (and somewhat fun; the piercer was very cool!) as possible. I returned some months later to pick up new jewellery for my piercings, and that was a very positive experience too. I have friends who've also had piercings there, and I've heard only positive reports of their experiences. There's a reasonable range of titanium jewellery available, which is also a huge plus! the girls are AMAZING. i got my septum pierced today and they were so good from the beginning to end. jackie was super helpful with aftercare and made sure i was happy with it as well as made sure i could flip it up to hide it. the piercing was almost painless and i even got lollies afterwards :-) i live 40 minutes away but so worth it! Very lovely staff but horrible piercing. I had my third lobes done. My fist and second choices of jewelry had 'sold out' so they recommended some other ones. I thought they were very tiny and when I voiced my concerns and stated that I was a bad sweller, they brushed me off and assured it would be alright. The process of getting it done was fine. The only thing I found disturbing was the fact that she just sent me away after she did them. She didn't clean the blood off or anything. Three weeks later my right ear started swelling immensely. I was very worried but continued my day. I came home to discover that my earring had sunk into my earlobe and skin had grown all the way over it. I had to get it removed very painfully by a doctor the next day. I won't be back. Read Less

I've had two piercers from here and they were both so lovely and professional. They gladly helped me with any concerns or questions I had, and during the piercing process were very experienced, skilled, and just able to make me feel not as worried about it all. I'm new to Brisbane and was planning to go to the Piercing Shop, but have now changed my mind due to the extremely bad impression I've gotten without even having been to the shop. I attempted to call many many times to find out if they'd be able to provide the service I need. Their website has been down for "maintenance" for months and nobody answers the phone; there isn't even a voicemail option. No way to contact this business with inquiries. When I first walked in the place was crowded with youngins looking to get pierced and it didn't seem like the girl behind the counter was thrilled about it. I browsed around while waiting and they do have a decent selection of body jewelry. I asked if they had clickers and they have the most I've actually seen in any one shop - and surprisingly an array from around $25 up to $175 (the fancy industrial ones) I totally want a nice one....but they didn't have any with plain diamond coloring - but she told me she did order more so keep a lookout if you're interested. I ended up grabbing an inexpensive one for now.The girl behind the counter ended up being nice and told me she had no dramas changing her clicker when I asked if it was gonna be difficult for me to do myself - she even took hers out to show me how easy it was to pop in and out. The piercer there also chatted with me about the different clickers and was really nice and helpful. I highly recommend coming to this shop for jewelry - I can't speak for a piercing, but I think they know what they are doing here. Much better option than Piercing Planet in the CBD. Read Less

I've come in here a couple of time to support my friends while they get needles shoved through them. Everything gives off the appearance of professionalism. The staff are well kept (no infected piercings to be seen), and the place is spotless. You won't get anxiety about the possibility of the Piercing Shop being dodgy. The piercing rooms are extremely clean and orderly. Everything the piercer uses comes out of fresh plastic packets. They sterilise everything in front of you too. They've got excellent bed side manner. They'll walk you through each step of what they're doing and be as quick and as efficient as possible. Having watched them push needles through chunks of flesh, I have to say that they are really smooth. It almost looks like a performance. The prices are very reasonable and sometimes they have specials on. Before you pay they run through after care and give you the products you need to look after your new piercing. I wouldn't bother going anywhere else to get a piercing. These guys are professionals. Read Less

This place is legit.  I've had my ears pierced here twice and they have been nothing but professional and quite easy to talk to.  Even through the pain barrier.  And it's a very little one.  There are many different varieties of piercings for your plethora of body parts or someone elses body part for that matter.  There is quite a fancy range of studs and belly button decorative rings for all types of navels as I was told and everything is clean, sterile and very non dodgy.These guys have been around for ages so it's safe to say they will be for a while fingers crossed.  Need a hole?  Head to the Piercing Shop. You can tell by The Piercing Shop's name that it was Brisbane's first shop dedicated to body piercing. It opened in 1994 in the Elizabeth Arcade and moved to the Wallace Bishop building in 2006. Before emo happened and piercing became as popular as it has been for the past few years, there was nowhere else in Brisbane that offered such an expert, hygienic, and safe approach to piercing.I've been going to The Piercing Shop for the past decade and every piercing I've had done there has been professional and healed perfectly. The Piercing Shop provide clients with detailed aftercare instructions and products, and offer follow up consultations for any healing issues or if you just need your jewellery downsized. Seventeen years after The Piercing Shop opened Brisbane still only has a few proper piercing shops dedicated solely to piercing and offering proper sterilisation and piercing procedures.
