I have such mixed feelings about Stone Heart. I chose to use this store to have my upper ear lobes pierced on both sides, (after very extensive research of a bunch of piercers in Sydney), based on the amazing reviews and excellent website, which had heaps of information and FAQs that helped to put my mind at ease. The booking process (which is done online) was a breeze, and the experience (visiting the website, making a booking, reception, waiting area, cleanliness and overall vibe) as a whole is at a very high standard. The actual piercing itself is where the experience fell short for me. My piercer didn’t speak the best English, so I kind of struggled to understand him explaining the procedure and after-care. I have a high pain tolerance, but I found the piercing very painful, and was in a lot of pain afterwards too, for a few days I would say. I paid over $300+ for the two earrings which were used in the piercing, which I thought was incredibly high, especially considering they are tiny and very plain, however I justified the price based on the fact that I was told they were the best earrings for even the most sensitive ears, and made of the same material as pace makers. I had the piercing done last December, (over 5 months ago now) and have been back multiple times since, because the piercings simply will not heal. I’ve followed all the directions of the staff at the check-ups, bought 2 bottles of the spray they recommend, and use it day and night, have been to the doctor and put on a course of antibiotics because of an infection, and yet they are still not healing. The ear lobe swells up on and off, randomly starts bleeding, has become and swollen and scabbed over the past months, and more recently, there is a pus-like ball behind one of the ears. I’ve included an image of what they look like today. I know that my body’s response to the piercing can’t be fully controlled by the piercer, but after paying $300+ and going back and forth for months afterwards, it just sucks and is super frustrating. The weird thing is, I have two other piercings in both my ears (both done with guns), and never had a single problem with them! I’m at the point where I’m thinking of taking them out, but don’t want the money to have gone down the drain. Hopefully this review helps other people who are thinking of having some piercings done.
