Got a big cover up at LDF, was very satisfied with the work of the artist , but after spending over 1,500 dollars in 3 sessions doing my half sleeve I had to re schedule the appointment for work reasons " called in 1 day before trying to re schedule it " , they took $100 dollars deposit and completely did not consider the work been finished , which for me seems like it's not about the art and consideration but about taking the money in any possible way ! i went to get my hand tattoo in another studio where they actually stop the time when we are having breaks, they give lunch to the clients if you are tattooing during lunch time , you don't have to pay for every time the artist stops. At LDF I paid 4 hours and probably stopped around 4 times including lunch stop ( total around 1 hour + lunch expenses ) and still paid the 4 hours and yet haven't completed my half sleeve . I am definitely not going back to LDF anymore, still have plans to do another sleeve, chest and back but absolutely not there ! That's my experience with LDF ! Advice to new customers : if you want to get a small piece tattoo it's worth it to get it there ( if you like the artist portfolio and price) , if you want a big piece and a place that actually value the client then you should look for another place , there's good artists everywhere for cheaper prices and you feel a lot more appreciated . I've had a small tattoo put on my arm by Corey and he has been designing a leg piece for me. He's a great, professional guy. The studio is clean but full of life. I got my first ever tattoo done yesterday by Thomas and it's amazing! He really did a great job in taking my reference image, putting his own spin on it, and making it look fantastic and just what I had imagined it to look like! Not only that, he was really easygoing, soft spoken and humble which made the session more comforting. Got my first tattoo done. I was extremely pleased with the patience they had since my writing was in a different language. And it came out perfect, exactly how I wanted it. They made me feel very comfortable as it was my first tattoo and was gentle on my skin and re assuring I was okay. Clean place and very laid back and friendly staff! Popped in to discuss my idea for fresh ink and after a friendly consultation with Brett we both agreed that my initial placement just wouldn't work. However, a new spot on my foot was just the ticket and he set to work straight away putting my idea into reality. I'm incredibly happy with the result and Brett was very conscienscous of my pain levels throughout the foot tattoo.....yep those ankle bones can be a touch tender. Won't be going back to Newtown LDF ever again!! Tattooist should have realised the break between my script was too big n went in for a touch up today but I made sure to look after the skin/tatt so didn't require any touch up at all but when I told Brett I wasn't happy with the large space in between the writing n to pls add just 2 or 3 little dots, he wanted to charge me $100 for that?? N as I was not impressed due to such disgusting price gouging for a customer who would hav...e been ongoing, he mouthed off to me as I left on top of it!! Do NOT recommend this place & save yourself some effort n unpleasant over charging n go to Marrickville or another tattooist altogether!! $100 bucks for 2-3 small dots?! WTF?? They've lost my business n was just about to arrange my next tatt but am going to industrial strength or Marrickville now instead.
