I took a day off work specifically to have my eyebrows tattooed. Got an sms the night before to reschedule. I managed to get another day off work the next week only to show up for the appointment to find the salon shut. I received a phone call about 6 hours later apologising for the mix up. Worst customer service i have experienced in Canberra and i definitely won't be rescheduling or recommending this service to anyone, especially after wasting two days of leave. Read Less

I went to have my eyebrows tattooed. I was happy with the initial result. However, my eyebrows faded very quickly- within three months when I was told it would last for at least 12 months. To make things worse Stacey was late or simply didn't bother to show up for all my follow up appointments. Will never go back or recommend Defining Features to any one. Maria. Read Less

Made several calls with no answer. Finally made a booking via text and when I arrived at my appointment (after a lot of hassle on my part to be able to go), nobody turned up. No answer to calls or text either. Nearby businesses said there's been nobody there a while so unsure as to why they'd make an appointment for me if there was no intention of keeping it. I've been so happy with Stacey's work on my brows, I have very dark and distinctive brows and her attention to detail around shaping and colour is impeccable. She was able to give me a really natural look, which is always important - people are always surprised to hear they're tattooed! If you're serious about perfect eyebrows like I am, you need to see Stacey at Defining Features, and you need to read this review. I moved to Canberra from the country, and was so nervous about trusting my brows in a strange beautician's hands...and i should have been...i tried so many places and had some of the worst experiences - a salon in Queanbeyan actually burnt the sensitive skin under my eyebrows AND on my eyelids using wax that was way too hot, and i came out of the ⋯⋯Benefit Bar in Civic with "Maccas arch" eyebrows after asking for a tidy up! Close to giving up and resorting to tweezing my own, I stumbled across an article on the HerCanberra website titled "The Perfect Brow" which had been written by the owner and operator of Defining Features, Stacey Rolfe. Stacey is a beauty therapist who specialises in cosmetic tattooing - that sold me right there - who better to wax my eyebrows into the perfect shape than a woman who specialises in permanently tattooing them on!?!?! I booked an appointment straight away, and since that day I haven't looked back. To say Stacey is an eyebrow perfectionist is an understatement...at my first appointment, despite the train wreck eyebrows she had to deal with, i walked away with much better eyebrows than i had to begin with...and most importantly, an action plan of what we'd have to do over the next few appointments so that i would gradually achieve the eyebrow shape that suited me. Well, I'm to the point now where I have what I like to call, "Instagram Eyebrows"...they are so perfect that people stop me at work, or comment on my facebook photos with, "who does your eyebrows?!?!?!" The last lady that did my makeup professionally was blown away by how perfectly manicured they were. I know, I know...I'm a little obssessed... but eyebrows are very important....and if you feel as strongly as I do, you don't want just any amateur with a paddle pop stick and some hot wax tearing strips off them.
